the handicap sign was actually knocked down by a car, so it was pretty much gone.
the replacement hadnt been put in place yet. however, the space itself was painted,....but it was hard to tell because it
was extremely faded. i couldnt tell at the moment cuz it was also around 8pm.
didnt realize it was a handicap until i was backing out of the spot.....and the police who were walking out of
a Chipotle that was right next to this place, came and knocked on my window before i pulled out in traffic,
and was like....."sir....did you know you just pulled out of a handicapped spot?"
im lookin at his ass like......huh?? no. what handicapped spot?
nigga had me back up back into the parkinglot and wrote me a fuckin ticket.
so in actuality, it was an honest mistake.....but that cac wasnt tryin to hear that shit

U better have a placard or a plate, homes & u can also forget abt trying to fight it in court unless u have one of the aforementioned.

Go back to the parking spot, Take a picture of the down sign and the parking space at the time you were there and take a picture of the space being sure to get the faded lines in the shot. Show all this to the judge now yes he can say "ignorance of the law is no excuse" BUT hopefully he will be more understanding than the popo was and reduce or "perhaps" throw it out. Good luck homie.
nah i didnt go to court. i got the ticket a week and a half ago.
just decided to charge it to the game and pay it.
Had you taken pictures you might have beat it, you might not and then they add court costs...

I have a placard too because of back issues. It's funny how if you aren't 75+, folks will immediately think you're stealing a handicapped space. Seniors grim me all of the time.
Pulled up in a spot one day and soon as I put my car in park, an old CAC came out of the store bitching about taking up the space from someone who needs it. I simply reach up and hang my placard on my rear view mirror and he quickly stfu and kept on walking. Still had a look on his face as if he didn't believe that I deserved to have one.
I've also been asked to move once by a security guard who was hollering from across the lot that it was a handicap parking space. He trotted his troll ass over to me ready to bitch. "You need a handicap sticker to park here!". I said, "you mean like one of these?". He too shut the fuck up as I grabbed my cane out of the passenger side and carried on to my destination. I'd just had yet another back surgery.
I get it. Some truly do need it. Others just want to be closer to the door. I had to get on my wife about using mine when she's driving my car. A placard follows your license, not the car.

I've got a family member with an autoimmune disease so they have a handicapped sticker.
They're constantly cursing somebody out for questioning why she is parked in a handicapped spot.
I got one because of my back/nerve damage from degenerated disks. I get looks all the time but I could give two shits. When shit is really bad simply walking around the grocery store will cause my legs and feet to cramp up really bad. Shit have my toes throwing up gang signs in my shoes. Every day ain't a bad day but it has the potential to be a bad day if I walk for long distances. The muscle relaxer they give me is the same shit people with multiple sclerosis takes due to nerve damage.
