Update: GANG RAPE CHARGES DISMISSED BY BROOKLYN DA

The Brooklyn District Attorney has dismissed rape charges against five young men in Brownsville.

The young woman recanted her allegations of forced sexual assault and the existence of a gun during the alleged incident at Osborn Playground.

"She does not wish to pursue criminal charges against any of the defendants," said Ken Thompson, Brooklyn District Attorney in a statement.

He added that there was a lack of reliable evidence, and that criminal charges could not be sustained.

"It is my fervent hope that this young woman gets all the support that she needs going forward. My office, including our victim advocates who have been working with this young woman, stand ready to provide her with any assistance she may need," Thompson said.

Is drinking in public legal in NYC? I know Vegas and New Orleans allows that, but can you just walk around with a beer? I have no beef with letting your kids drink. The drinking age is lower in other places around the world, and some families allow their kids to drink wine at dinner.
