2015 - 2016 NBA Thread - NBA where amazing happens - all rookie team named!!!

I think they are going to get it.. They will do their same formula.. Get up big by 20-30 pts and have the bench sustain the lead while Steph shit out more 4th quarters only playing 25-30 mins a game lmaoo
Maybe but it ain't a slam dunk. If they TRULY want it then its possible. But its crazy that its even a possibility.

Report: Timberwolves interested in Tom Thibodeau

It’s apparently not difficult to find a young Timberwolves player who questions Sam Mitchell. At this point, Kevin Garnett‘s endorsement seems unlikely to save the interim head coach .

So, who’s next in Minnesota?

How about Tom Thibodeau?

Brian Windhorst of ESPN:

Source are telling me that there’s already been some cursory contact between – either backchannels or whatever – between the Wolves and Thibodeau.

Thibodeau should come up for every job opening. His 255-139 record in five seasons with the Bulls and defensive chops dictate that.

From there, it gets more complicated.

Thibodeau would instill a strong culture of defense and hard work in Minnesota. That has value for a young team.

But he’d also put plenty of physical strain on Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns through big minutes and grueling practices. That’s how Thibodeau believes he can accomplish those previously stated objectives.

There might not be another available coach capable of succeeding as much as Thibodeau, but he can also be divisive.

Shump been a bum, so surprises here :hmm:

I don't think it's that...

What he's trying to do with his game is that the need but don't want that...

He's try to develop a habit of creating his own shot, attacking off the dribble etc... they want played to catch and shoot which is fine, but in the finals many of us here felt if they would've had another body that attack the basket/create his own shoot, that could've spared Lebron a few minutes...

So what Shum does, work on his handles during the offseason, in hopes to fill that void/hole...just so happen he injured his hand...

Rumor: Timberwolves making Ricky Rubio available at trade deadline
If you’re a point guard who doesn’t shoot well, you better do some other things exceedingly well if you’re going to stick in the NBA.

Enter Ricky Rubio. Opposing teams will dare him to shoot — better him than Andrew Wiggins or Karl-Anthony Towns — but Rubio brings exceptional vision, passing, and fantastic defense to the table.

A few teams could use a guy like that — hello New York — and Rubio is available at the trade deadline for the right price, reports Frank Isola of the New York Daily News.

Incumbent Ricky Rubio is readily available and the feeling is that the Spanish guard could be moved prior to Thursday’s NBA trade deadline.

So, the Knicks?

Phil Jackson is in the market for a point guard but it’s hard to envision the Knicks having the assets to acquire the 25-year-old Rubio, whose season average in points (9.7), assists (8.6) and minutes (30.3) are down this year.

Because Rubio is young like the rest of the Timberwolves core, and is locked up for three seasons after this one on a contract that becomes very reasonable as the salary cap spikes, it’s going to take a heck of an offer to pry him out of Minnesota. It also is believed by most around the league that the Timberwolves will replace coach Sam Mitchell this summer, and whomever the new coach ends up being may want to have some input who the point guard of the team should be.

The problems with the Knicks pulling the trigger on any deal to upgrade at the point is the only players on their roster other teams want are the ones the Knicks will not move.Ty Lawson may be the exception to that. However, it may be this summer before Jose Calderon is sent to the bench.

Report: Kings working with Ben McLemore on trade
The Kings reportedly promised to try tradingCaron Butler.

It hasn’t happened yet, but Sacramento is also reportedly partnering with another one of its players to find a deal – Ben McLemore.

Marc Stein and Brian Windhorst of ESPN:

McLemore, sources say, is working with the Kings to try to find a new home via trade.

Word is that the Kings, who are desperate to end a playoff drought spanning nine seasons and counting before moving into a new building next season, prefer immediate help in trade talks more than future picks.

There should be much more interest in the 23-year-old McLemore than the 35-year-old Butler. McLemore has often struggled since entering the NBA, but his outside shot is developing, and he has shown glimpses of the potential that made him the No. 7 pick just three years ago.

That’s a regime change or two back in Sacramento, though. Vlade Divac and George Karl might not be as committed to McLemore.

McLemore had been starting before a wrist injury sidelined him for a few games. Still, he was a starter in name only. Backup Marco Belinelli plays more.

The Cavaliers were reportedly interested, but win-now Cleveland is a strange fit with one important caveat: McLemore shares an agent, Rich Paul, with LeBron James. Paul might want McLemore out of Sacramento, but I’d be shocked if the Kings would just dump him. They probably will require Paul to find a team willing to surrender value in return.

This seems like a poor time to sell low on a young, talented – admittedly underachieving – player. That’s especially true if the Kings, who are 4.5 games from playoff position, are seeking someone who can help immediately.

But these are the Kings, and there’s no telling what they’ll do.

With trade deadline Thursday, Nets reportedly plan to hire new GM by end of week
The Nets general-managing search reportedly had a few frontrunners last week: Bryan Colangelo, Arturas Karnisovas, Sean Marks.

Now, those three have a slightly different label: finalists.

Chris Broussard of ESPN:

This makes it sounds as if the Nets could hire someone Friday – a day after the trade deadline. Ridiculous? Or just ridiculous enough for Brooklyn?

It’s far more important the Nets find the best general manager available rather than have someone before the deadline, but there’s no reason this process should have dragged so long. The Nets fired Billy King more than a month ago, and they probably thought about it for longer before that.

Or maybe not.

With Mikhail Prokhorov in charge, this needn’t be sensible.

Really, it’s a wonder the Nets have such a reasonable list of finalists.

Utah Jazz: Point guard Trey Burke in trade discussions

The Utah Jazz have had multiple discussions with teams about a trade involving guard Trey Burke ahead of Thursday's NBA trade deadline, The Salt Lake Tribune has learned from league sources.

Burke, a third year guard out of Michigan, has missed the past three games against the Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks and New Orleans Pelicans because of the flu.

Burke was picked in the No. 9 overall in the 2013 by the Jazz after a senior season at Michigan in which he was the national player of the year. Utah's second first-round pick that year was Rudy Gobert via a trade with the Denver Nuggets.

this going to be a wild trade dead line..hope my celtics keep their core.

Few teams that could make some huge moves...

Cavs (could have different squad...3 totally different trade option...
- Kevin Love
- trade exception
- Shum and Tmo

Heat - whiteside
Clippers - Blake Griffin

so pretty much dwight is out for discussion for the celtics and AL horford is out because the hawks are asking for too much. I will still like to target greg monroe, if we can't get him i stay just off load david lee 15 mill off coming of the books, for the team that takes that salary. back to the rest of the league, white side for dwight exchange sounds interesting, I don't watch heat games but i can tell you dwight is an upgrade over whiteside but whiteside is 23..not even making a mill yet. I will keep whiteside.

Whiteside ain't making a mill yet.... true, but ummm get back at me in a few months

It's not that he's a bum, I think that him and Mosgov have the easiest contracts to move.

WTF will the Cavs do for a perimeter defender though?

That why they trying to see what it's gonna take to get Trevor

My dude probably gonna foul the hell outta somebody, but jR been solid...

Report: Cavaliers want another star, not role players/draft picks, in Kevin Love trade
LeBron James declared the Kevin Love trade rumors to be “false.”

The Cavaliers probably won’t trade Love. They might even know enough about the current market to know they won’t find a suitable Love deal by the trade deadline.

But that doesn’t mean they made him untouchable.

Marc Stein and Brian Windhorst of ESPN:

League sources say that the Cavs have made it clear to interested teams — starting, of course, with the Love-hungry Boston Celtics — that they’d covet a star in return if or when they do reach the point of letting Love go … and not a package of draft picks and role players like the Celtics are offering.

Of course, the Cavaliers don’t place as much value into draft picks. They’re trying to win a championship this season.

But it seemed a strong collection of lesser players – say Jae Crowder, Kelly Olynyk andDavid Lee – could strengthen Cleveland.

If the Cavs are set on getting a star if they trade Love, that seems unlikely. Which team would trade a player better than Love for Love? His five-year contract provides stability, but that also helps Cleveland.

Perhaps, a three-way trade – where Boston sends commensurate value in young players and picks to a team ready to unload a star – would work. That’s why the Carmelo Anthonyrumors made some sense, but Carmelo Anthony has significant incentive to use his no-trade clause to block any deals this season.

When I read this report, I just see more reason to believe Cleveland isn’t trading Love this week.

Lebron wants stars only

Not interested in building a true team

Bullshit sensationalism because everyone with a half a brain knows that it would be impossible to match Love salary with a lesser role player alone...

How much time does he have left? Because he is going to need at least 2 to 3 years to be something like as GS. He ain't getting high IQ players either.

#ShouldaStayedInMiami

He let niggas like me and the people back in Cleveland make him feel bad like he needed to go back there and validate his career with a title there

I don't care tho cuz if the only titles he get in his prime is those when he ran to Miami damn right we gonna be sure to always mention it

Rumor :
Whiteside,Birdman,& Dragic to Houston.
Howard to ATL
Horford and Teague to MIA
Idk
Houston needs to do that shit like ASAP!!!!
