Yeah, I'm not that deep into the comics. But I always thought it was a case of Supes could destroy Bats if he wanted to, but he doesn't so he pulls his punches so to speak. Batman know this and takes advantage.Batman at his peak is the best human can get, he mastered pretty much every martial arts and coupled with his obsessive controlling nature plus being super rich makes him indeed a force of nature when fighting humans.
Superman is Jesus playing human. I am pretty sure kryptonite is a self-induced weakeness.
I can't help you there as I thought MoS was short of brilliant. Honestly, most people do themselves and the movie they are watching a disfavor IF they don't take it in as the writers/directors etc intended. Plain and simple, Synder and Goyer said MoS was intended to be a 1st contact story. From that perspective it works extremely well, IMO. Most people, once more IMO that don't like MoS didn't watch it from that perspective and more often than not approached it as a comparison to the Donner Superman movies they "KNEW" growing up watching and loving! Furthermore, in keeping up with what the writers/directors intended this BvS movie falls perfectly inline with that theme.
OK this is what I wanted.
MOTHERFUCK all of that prep time bullshit. Let's see bruce mix it up and fuck some shit up straight up. Every movie he's described as full of rage and anger and a vigilante and all of that shit but he's always stealth and outsmarting folks. If he REALLY is all of the things you say then at some point he's going to just go kick some ass right? I like how he popped up i was like ok man some more bullshit.. and then he started fighting.. and fighting.. and he wasn't flipping. he wasn't using a grappling hook to fly away from contact. he was just like ok meet me in the circle and let's see who wins this shit and he destroyed them dudes like a batman should.
NOW THIS is what I wanted to see. Superman clearly will win though it won't come to winning or losing in this movie but Batman had to fight. Batman had to show he was about the life in more ways than prep time and this showed it.
I loved how he was in the ride and was like FUCK IT im going to try and run this dude over. Didn't work but I respect it. Fuck all that science. Let's mix it up bro.
Superman. I love the progression. He goes from toying with this dude. To swatting him away like you would a gnat. To getting involved a little bit. To actually trying to knock this dude out.
Who is shooting at superman? That's what I want to know. Who is shooting at him? Why?
Lex might actually work. He might be an ass enough to pull these threads slightly to have the whole shit unravel. That was my only real question. Would it be a real conflict or would it seem hella fake. Given how salty batman is at Superman from JUMP Lex probably just put it in his ear in casual conversation and that started the war.
I wonder how Batman feels about fighting superman where he is considering the premise is he's mad that he destroyed those buildings downtown?
Also what about us? How are we in this world where they exist? Why would you go outside past a certain hour? Why would you live in the city?
Yup and we'll continue that trend in this movie. The aftermath is so important. The aftermath if why they're about to fight.
You crack me up man! But you, MessaQ and a few cats are waaaayyy ahead of the curve when it comes to understanding this DC Universe that Synder and company have created. Honestly man I feel for folks that don't understand or realize that MoS and BvS so far have nothing to do with superpowers! How fast Superman can fly and jump and all that flavoring. The core/heart of this universe is themes/ideals/deep philosophical question raised and explored to there real and unfiltered consequences! So far MoS has suggested that the early results are not wholesomely pretty and the answers are not wrapped in neat convenient packages. MoS is divisive not because it's a bad movie. But rather, on the contrary, it's divisive because the writers and directors were too good at bringing their vision to life. They made it too real!
Now BvS is a continuation of that fantastic story. Hopefully taken to it's next logical conclusion and I can't fucking wait to delve deeper into it.
that's the best part being able to suspend belief but evaluate the intrigue of it all with super humans.
im interested in seeing how wonder woman fits in this story and who/why she joins the fight.
but the moody nature of it all is absolutely perfect.
For majority of these viewers apparently it is.Is it really surprising that the most powerful man in the world is a figure of controversy?
For majority of these viewers apparently it is.
It was the 1st trailer that sold me on the movie everything else is icing.
When the senate held a congressional hearing and he just floats in to the steps of the justice building and walks in and they're talking about holding him accountable. It's just awesome.
Fam, MoS took off the gloves, stopped the pampering, the nostalgic cuddling of tradition, the comfortable and blandness of previous iterations and current movies of the genre. Many didn't want this movie to challenge them; to have it put forth serious questions that where initially raised in MoS and surely will continue to be explored in BvS. The Senate Committee meeting you've already alluded too and most prominently by The Batman! Do folks get that?
Batman "v." Superman is NOT the same thing as Batman "vs." Superman! This movie is NOT about a physical fight/confrontation, my goodness far from it! This movies crucible is in a courtroom and it's open flames are to challenge, "What he means and what he stands for and more critically what he can teach us about ourselves".... This Man of "STEEL" if he is pure of impurities should come through on the other side stronger and we along with him having gone through this process. Consider Jor Els decree to his son:
"You will give the people of Earth an ideal to strive towards. They will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun, Kal. In time, you will help them accomplish wonders. "How does this occur if not for an arduous process? A summon to appear against it's mightiest defenders? The Senate? The Batman? The staunch Lex Luthor?
