I think a large part of it is this. But i also think they don't want ANYTHING taken from them. That's a part of it i feel. A percentage of it seems to me to be, the powerlessness of it they feel. As i've said before, a bunch of them don't want the responsibility of taking care of the child. And a slightly larger percent know their not properly FIT to take care of a child.
I remember many times telling men to seek custody. And i can't remember how many times i heard enthusiasm or SURE! It was almost always i can't by myself. Their mother... this or that. Or they automatically assume that the court gives a child to the mother just cause. They have no idea how the process works. And also i heard a lot of "Well just give the kids to me then...(after they hear how much the judge tells them to pay in support). Because ya know... that's going to work.
The more compassionate side of me feels it may be all of the above. But regardless. They do not know how the system works.
Perhaps and perhaps your case doesn't fully represent what some guys experience in the system... Or perhaps if there were no child support system maybe you and the child mother wouldn't had the child or perhaps if you did perhaps you guys will still be together... The statistics sort of points that out...

I said black people and poor people are usually effected by the system more, only because poorer women are more enticed by the money and the added perks...
