New York City has a lost a legendary member of its hip hip community. On the morning of February 3 it was announced that DJ Big Kap, real name Keith Carter, had died in the city at the age of 45. He’s best known for helping to launch the career of Biggie Smalls in the 1990s as well as working with a veritable who’s who of NYC rap acts.

Yea that dude was cool as kitten balls.. Met dude on the train and spoke about hip hop. When i recognize him...

Then later on when i was heavy in thr promo club game met dude always laid back with his hip hop stories..

Yea he explain the biggie summer jam thing when i ask him

Club 2000, the muse, home base , tunnel , country club, cheetah: just a few spots big kap blessed....

Dam went from the babies in the club to passing... Time remains undefeated

Damn. Really sad to hear this. We actually go to the same barbershop get cut by the same barber. Kap was always really cool, always had a great story to tell and just a really cool down to earth brother.

Damn, only 45. :smh: RIP, we gotta take better care of ourselves man. Dying of natural causes at that age ain't cool at all. I was just bumping Bia Bia yesterday too.

I remember when Kap was doing security... He sucked as a dj but I'm sad to hear that he's gone. Rest in paradise, Kap

R.I.P to he and Philly's own Kris Kelley she worked in Detroit (WJLB), Chicago (WGCI)and other markets. She was 45 yrs old great friend and a quality sista.
