WITBANK – Film footage of an assault by a group of bikers on a petrol attendant captured on the weekend has on Tuesday been handed over to police.
The victim of what appears to be a racist attack is “doing okay” and was back at work a day after the incident and has laid charges of assault with the police.
The attack happened at the Engen garage in Del Judor, Witbank in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Garage manager Dries Marx said the conflict started when two bikers arrived to fill up sometime after midnight on Friday. Both of them were smoking and so the petrol attendant on duty asked them to put their cigarettes out for safety reasons.
Marx said the two men “got mad” and phoned some friends to come and join them.
“In the meantime another bunch of guys arrived and they tried to fill up at the wrong pump, so the attendant had to ask them to move to a different pump and things got even more tense,” Marx said.
The attendant then contacted Marx to inform him of the situation, and he told the attendant to go inside the shop.
Soon after the group of men then went inside the shop and began assaulting him, ganging up on him and beating him.
Marx said the injured man was taken to the hospital the next day, but was not seriously injured.
“He was back on duty on Sunday,” Marx said.
He said he had laid charges of malicious damage to property, but the offenders had settled with him and so he had since withdrawn the case.

Then less than 2 weeks after that, the Bishop Tutu is on CNN saying we cannot keep fighting this thing non violently. We are losing to many people every day. We got to make a choice weather to die on our feet fighting back. Or die on our knees begging for mercy. They started planning a race riot. Other white countries were afraid the race riot would fall into their countries also. And Botha said that these other white countries, (America, France, etc.) were with him on what he was doing. And it had to been true. Will not get into that.
But they let Mandela out to stop this. Because their may have been a chance of black South Africa getting their country back. Once they saw that Mandela had sold them out. A handful of them went ahead with the first plan. And they went from ranch house to ranch house killing off whole families of whites. Until Mandela sent the military in to take them down. Using Mandela they made it seem that South Africa was fighting for the right to vote. No they would the killers out of their country and they wanted their land back. And to side track those they might see the growth and development of white power, and having blacks to praise it and never think for themselves. It is alright to be black and want to protect a black president. But it may be a trick to make you defend your doom and run from your real salvation.
