That's not entirely true. There are many niches in our community. Our community is financially capable of supporting many interests. But is there demand for that?

There's never been a bad time to get up off your ass. Never. In 20 years, this conversation will still be taking place.
There's a scene in the Martian where the director of nasa gets his engineers to come up with a solution right away. He gives them a time and tells them not to worry about the overtime. Who in our community has the financial resources to order up results and budget will be damned? Oprah did, and she gave Tyler that task. And just like the engineers in that movie, he did an admirable job with his shows on OWN.
But we didn't have the internet 20 years ago. That's the difference cuz everyone here is saying distribution is the biggest hurdle.
I'll say this - the world is going more towards the way of Netflix than it is brick and mortar theaters. And really, I wouldn't concentrate on building theaters at all unless they could somehow be modular or mobile. We have to always prepare to be on the move because white supremacists instituted eminent domain for a reason. They can't do that shit on the internet though.
I love the idea of a black Netflix. The content just needs to be good to attract people. Once that takes off it's a done deal unless somebody sells out and hands the business off to white folks....again.

If black people had created facebook it would have been at a HBCU and called black book and never got off campus. Thats what we need to concentrate on otherwise its easy to niche and marginalize us. We GOTTA STOP thinking about making goods and services with black people in mind and start thinking about creating things for PEOPLE IN GENERAL just making sure we controlled the shit.

If they already have a film I will put it on my platform and do a rev split. Or if they have an idea then I will back the project with my production resources and then do a rev share on the project depending on where we distribute if it's not on my platform.

Me and a friend was going to make a movie. It was going to be called "ON THE COME UP". About a hobo that like to take long walks in the woods when he was not collecting cans. One day while walking thru the woods he came up on some Marijuana plants. So he pulled them up took them and processed them and started selling them. He went from rags to riches. But he did not forget where he came from. Instead of bling bling he made the money work for him.
Seems to me that the script is the first part of making a movie. Once that is complete, then there is the casting to see who is going to play the different parts. I guess after that resources, locations, extras, etc.
Right now I do not have the time or money to do one. One of the many things I have to wait until the right money.
Any time a person like me has plans for building a nation, information is very important. In fact I need to be an information center of accurate information. That was why I had started "THE SOUL PAPER'. I shut it down because of the hard work and me not having my own printing press at the time. I was using a printing press downtown. I needed my own because they might not like some of my material. So after the introduction copy I shut every thing down but would start it back up if I got the right money.
Bill Cosby had the right idea when he tried to buy a national news network. But I do not believe he knew the danger he was in for trying to do this. Elijah had taught about the importance of a black man having his own business. If your lady and kids were educated by you, and also got employment from you. Then you are showing who is the real man. For far to long the system has been the man to black men women and children. Elijah was breaking that and he was the father of nationalist thought in America. Do not complain about how someone else runs their house. Get your own and run it the way you want to. We already built a white house and a white nation for them. Let's do for self now.
