No way Steve could be any worse than when Deion Sanders hosted Miss USA 2002. Black women took 4 of the Top 5 spots and white people went absolutely APESHIT. I was totally conflicted because Deion was shucking and jiving like a mofuka and that coonery really dampened what was still a great moment in Black American hstory.

 
Wait WHAT?! Sanders hosted in 2002! Never realized that. Steve is definitely main stream enough with his talk show and Family Fued career.

When Steve Harvey announced Colombia instead of Philippines as the winner of the Miss Universe 2015 pageant, and proceeded to apologize for his inaccuracy (in grammatical errors, no less) the Internet rolled up its collective sleeves to make Harvey comedic fodder in the form of endless memes and gifs of the now-infamous blunder.

But no tongue-lashing was as ugly (or telling) as the one that came in a series of tweets calling the Family Feud host and longtime comedian a “n*gger” for crowning then uncrowning then apologizing to “Columbia.”

The irony: Colombia has one of the largest populations of black people in South America. The telling: anti-blackness is not unique to the U.S. and very much thrives throughout Latin America.

Calling Steve Harvey a “n*gger” won’t turn back time and undo his Miss Universe error. And frankly, it’s hella f*cking lazy and played out to resort to that kind of sh*t. Do better.

I remember an awards show last year where he did something similar.

He was introducing Tracee Ross and mentioned that her new show was titled, "Black Fish" instead of "Black'ish".

He then tried to blame his error on the prompter.
