If you look at the characters in Watchmen they too look less than stellar on face value, in these types of movies you have to understand they are good movies with superheros in it, not a superhero movie that is good.

Going by these 2 movies, I couldnt be more hyped for Apocalypse. I agree that the trailer was just ok though.

Trailer was average. Music was average. Editing was meh... that's why the drool and gloom feeling after the credits rolled.
I WANT TO LOVE THIS SO MUCH BUT IT JUST AIN'T... THERE... something is missing. Im not sure yet. This was a solid effort but after a year of trailers that has folks jumping up and down and crying and clapping - this is the best they could do? After that BAD ASS, HARD ASS DEADPOOL TRAILER... all the Star Wars trailers, the first Supes v Bats trailer, that Triple 9 trailer, that Suicide Squad trailer STILL rings in my ears and they couldnt do better than this?
Apocalypse is indeed blue, not purple - like he looked on those set photos but everyone knows he sposed to be grey. They don't wanna make him an ancient black Kemetian - fine, make him grey - like he looks in the comics - like old brown skin, a thousand years old and withered from cosmic omnipotent energy, and keep it moving. And his armor is too damn big for his little body.
Storm has her poses down, she looks like Hally Berry, Nightcrawler looks like young Alan, Beast looks more and more like X3 Beast, new Jean fits but she still can't act, Im almost waiting for Little Finger to come out behind her with his hand up her snatch. Jenn Law is almost as pretty as Rebecca but she still got that baby fat on her face and they featuring her ass too much. New Cyclops looks shitty - he is nowhere near as good looking and square jawed as old Cyclops. They fucked that character up from the first movie on until now I see.
Fassbender can do NO WRONG. He is imitating Ians version of Magneto to a T and every pose, every speech, every threat is made like he got Malcolm in the back of his mind cueing him. Perfect casting.
McAvoy IS XAVIER now. He is doing the same thing that Fassbender is doing - he idolizes Sir Patrick so this casting has me sold. From the first movie on, it makes sense - he is just SO emotional in the role, I love it. I can watch the movie just to see him and Fassbender bag debates out.
Still not sure about the script, I aint a fan of mind control storylines, that shit is played now mane, we all smarter than this. AND, you rob the story of its drama and make the characters not responsible for their actions anymore. That's a huge problem in a film script that's sposed to be the seal on this trilogy.
Matt Vaugh did wonders with First Class... Days of Futures Past gave Singer a way back in but I hope he doesn't fuck this one up by going off the beaten path too far.
Next trailer has to impress. I love the effort, please pay off.

Nope. I do not. Avengers, Joss Whedon was masterful. XMen is such shit i can't even shit on it properly. I swear to god i've have some big man just pummel Singer into wet paste.
Now that I think about it, X2 wasn't even as good as X3, and X3 was a clusterfuck.
If they're going to do this right then this should be the 1st installment of Apocalypse. You don't beat him in 1 movie

Yes, the Avengers was masterful. Not every movie is gonna be THAT good, case in point Avengers 2 sucked.
But i gotta ask, whats so bad about the last 2 X-men flicks?
I agree with that. You could milk a trilogy out of that villain if you set it up right. The problem is the script.
There is a catch 22 with these comic book movies. On one hand, we get to see stories that could not have been told before because of technology. IMO, I don't want a movie to follow the comics except in spirit. Movies for the most part are a better medium when done right. They can present better ideas and create an emotional response that is unparalleled. Their duty is to draw you into their world.
My problem is that their is a lack on innovation because the studios are telling stories that already have a fan base. That is why we see so many remakes. With that being said, these big budget films don't have to serve fanboys/girls. They just have to make good films, and it would serve them better long term to have different takes on these characters instead of following the script.
So, i am going to sit back and enjoy these movies for what they are. As a fan, I can see that we are being presented with movies that could have never been made before and for the most part these movies have been solid. It is a win/win for movie goers in that sense.

these dudes are very harsh when it comes to the X flicks...their opinions tho...personally I haven't seen one yet I hated or even disliked...and 1st class was dope af imo

My thoughts exactly! So far the have a track record with the last two movies(days of future and first class) of putting out a good movie. On the surface this looks like it might be the weakest of the 3 we'll have to wait and see.
Brah, Pay Shaddy no mind. Cats like him seek attention where-ever they can get it. They simply can't keep BvS out of their mouths and minds. Plus you aready know he's going to see it. Nonetheless, this thread is about the X-Men trailer...nothing else.
