Murder Inc was crazy successful back then so I believe him. Sounds accurate.

Been saying that
Brooklyn pple ride HARD for they're artist, And new york then the world followed(back then)
Jay just hoped right in and filled the missing void. To his credit he executed it well.
If big never died jay wouldnt be who he is right now.
Vol1 is a knock off life after death

There's some truth to it. It was that era. Everyone was doing that shit.
You had Brian McKnight fucking dancing doing shit with Puff
Nas was doing that shit
but if it was that easy, it would have worked for Mic Geronimo![]()
Bingo.
Jay's business sense always prefaced his music, and this was no different. You'd have to be a chump to NOT wanna step into that void once Big passed. The top seat is up for grabs and the hustle was gonna seperate the weak from the obsolete, so I don't blame Jay one bit.
Everybody else needed to step it up.
Match HOV.

I say more a knock off No Way Out. Dude put out "Sunshine" with Babyface as his lead single, had Bad Boy producers on several cuts, and was after that Shiny Suit crowd.![]()

Truth be told. I still love that sunshine song
"Tits firm like nature,foxy,nas,az"
"Booty bangin properly in versace pants,Cocky bow legged stance a thing of beauty"
And that video was groovey.
Side bar
Vol 1 was better than vol 2.
Vol 2 has no playback value today to me, i still bang out to vol 1 though.

And Ja Rule thought he was Pac.
That rainy days video tho...
You know i'm gonna keep it 100 man I can only speak from my perspective and being from the South....I didn't even know of Jay's affiliation with BIG until later on down the road. Like I always heard the Big Daddy Kane and the JAZ O co-signs and I had heard Jay shout out BIG and BIG do the same but it wasn't like them dudes were all up in videos dropping 16's. And I don't know how he road DMX's success. They both got hot around the same time.
