Is Cam Newton an MVP candidate?

The difference and reason Cam should get it. He has nowhere near as many weapons as Andy Dalton.

Yep. Dalton might just have the most complete set of offensive weapons in the league. Cam might literally have the worst.

Cam got the Packers defense hotter than fish grease... Niggas ready to fight

Media is including Andy Dalton in the early MVP talk .

Dalton has hella weapons. The Bengals backup RB would likely start for half the league. He has one of the best WRs in the league, etc.

Cam has starting players at the skilled positions that would be practice squad players for other organizations yet they're undefeated.

Cam Newtown stats are horrible. No way he gets MVP.

No question he's the MVP right now. I just hope he can stay healthy with all the hits he takes.

It's not the "who has the best stats award". It's who is the most valuable person to their team award. The defense is slightly above overage. The offensive talent is below average. However, Cam keeps leading them to win and has a team that is below average in a lot of places still undefeated.

The other candidates have teams that could survive if they went down. If Cam gets hurt, this team probably wouldn't win another game.

You answered your own question pretty much. You can argue that he is the MVP of his team but when we talk about the league his stats simply don't measure up to his peers.

In all honesty his offensive line and running game could be argued as the teams MVP along with a very good defense.

Not knocking Cam but that ground game is a beast and Cam does not have to do much.

When we talk about league MVP his numbers just are not good.

Easily the dumbest shit that will be posted today.

I like Cam but MVP of the league with those stats? Never going to happen not with his peers putting up better numbers while also on winning teams.

The Carolina ground game is what has carried them

Newton anchors the Carolina ground game with his read option Auburn offense. 70 yards today and the most rushing TDs on the team. He hasn't had a 1,000 yard rusher since he got here.

Well.. you know how CACs are, they can't help themselves! Like on ESPN Radio, they are doing EVERYTHING they can not to give Cam credit, all the while swinging from Rodgers balls! Talking about 'just throw out the past two weeks' blah, blah, blah, and Cams stats are horrible, etc. Doing all they can't to avoid quoting the most important stat!! 8-0!!!

Stats play a huge part. You don't have to have the best but you got to be a least comparable to your peers.

Damn, your whole flow in this thread stinks of wet chicken feathers Dude... You going REAL HARD to try and discredit the black man in defense of your white comrades... Don't ever see you go this hard on any of them when they suck! It gets hard to keep you cover when a brother just slapped up your idol huh? :hmm:

Also, he's leading the team in TDs, and the defense didn't put up 30 plus points on the Packers. What did Stewart have today, 60 yards rushing?

This has nothing to do with being black. If you thought that then you are simple minded with low self-esteem.

You do realize their are other brothas up for the MVP who have better stats? Or are you just blinded by ignorance and trying to get some lame board rep by repeating the same tired dumb shit

No one said he was not helping his team but when you speak of MVP does his stats hold up amongst his peers?

That must have been over your head man.

I said he is more valuable to his team that his peers are. If you take Cam away from the Panthers, they likely don't win another game. Patriots and the Bengals have enough weapons to still keep scoring points...especially the Bengals. You're getting caught up "stats". You're not going to put up big stats with that receiving corps. Minus Olsen (TE), those WRs might not even make other squads and Ginn is a return man who shouldn't even be a WR with those stone hands of his.

And you mentioned the rushing game?

Cam is #2 in rushing yards and #1 in rushing TDs

Those stats are simply not going to fly. Other players are just as valuable to their teams success as Cam is to the Panthers

Yup. Through half the season no one outside of Brady is more instrumental to their teams success. Brady has a better coach, scheme, and marginally better talent. If Cams not in the discussion, who is... And I can't stand Panther fans, but props are due to Cam.

But yall have nothing to back up your statements.

Currently Cam is the 26th rated QB and had 54% CMP 11 touchdowns and 8 ints.

When compared to players who are in the MVP talk his numbers are simply not good.

The argument is could you plug in someone else with that team/talent and get the same team result??? Carolina is undefeated midway through the season and it all Cam and smoke and mirrors. This is not an 8-0 team based on talent. You can't quantify everything in sports. Just like Wilson in Seattle. Numbers don't tell the story.

After today Cam has 19 total TDs (14 passing, 5 rushing) and 9 INTs. Panthers offense is ranked higher than Green Bay's (Rodgers was an MVP candidate 2 weeks ago) and scores the 4th most points in the league. Cam has put up at least 20 points every game this season with minimal talent around him.

But it isn't the best QB award

It most valuable player

How essential has Cam been not only NOW but since he joined the squad?

He has to be considered

So u saying this season right now besides Brady maybe Payton...

Who is more deserving?

Rodgers? Carr? Palmer? Dalton?

Peyton??? Denvers team is stacked, as is Cincy. Carr and Palmer at elastic have a guy on the outside to throw it to. And New England just keeps on trucking.

I don't think so but them white boys were wetting themselves after last week fam. And if he wins today? Trust that will b the narrative.

It will, no doubt. I still think you can plug in about 10 QBs on that Denver team and have the same or better result. I don't think you can put anyone in Carolina and get that team to 8-0.
