SyFY Channel's new zombie series, Z Nation (Trailer)

whatd you expect from a production of The Asylum(who now have signed a television series production deal with SyFy)

Now it all really makes since, so it is the Asylum people lol. Yeah, it isn't hard to tell, poor quality, bad acting, inconsistent writing, copycat plots from the original source (TWD)...but I do enjoy just how bad it is.

Just got thru first season on Netflix.

What a bizarre show.

Does anyone remember the Kevin Smith videos where he talks about trying to pitch a script for the Superman reboot? He described how one of the exec producers (John Peters) kept insisting that that Superman doesn't wear "The Suit", Doesn't fly and he end up fighting gigantic spider robots.

That's kinda how I feel like this show is run. The basic premise is good (if not original) but I feel like there's someone high up that's insisting some really weird campy shit be added to the show. I guess they don't want to keep it from being so serious as The Walking Dead

The one I thing I give them credit for is they don't drag shit out. They introduce a crisis (no matter how rediculous) and then resolve it the same episode.

But some of that shit like the zombie spit mind control had me like :hmm:. Sound like some shit that weird kid in middle school who would write movie scripts in his trapper keeper would come up with. It's like every goofy TV trope ever piled into one show.

The characters were just interesting enough to keep me engaged. I can't front I'm curious how they are going resolve the cliff hanger ending.

To be completely honest, sexy ass Kellita Smith was my initial draw for watching this show. (Her tits are amazing!!!) :D

However; as I continued to tune in, I legitimately got hooked watching this show. It's addictive!!!
What shocks me is that NO ONE is guaranteed to survive (other than Murphy).

Better than The Walking Dead? Hell no!!!
But it's lighter in tone and just a lot of fun!!!;)

Hats off to the writers and the actors attached to this production. I eagerly look forward to the 2nd season...:yes:

If y'all actually like this but don't take it too seriously (I'm not sure how anyone could take it seriously tho lol), y'all should really watch the knock-off/"mockbuster" flicks Asylum has made, they're terrible but fun to watch...Battle OF Los Angeles, Atlantic Rim, Rise of the Zombies...the shit is awful but hilarious.

I'm having a sick day in bed just watching this marathon right now, it's awful. It basically the same people that made Sharknado and I'm up here watching the Z Nation ep with the Zombienado lol. The shit is just for shits and giggles, I don't see how some people can take this too seriously. It's good entertainment but nothing too different from their other 'joke' projects really. I do think they try to be serious at times but it really just needs to stay kinda ridiculous.

I stumbled on that Atlantic Rim joint late one night. That cat Treach from Naught by Nature had a lead role. Straight GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Z-Nation is definitely a step up on talent and writing, but the production values are about the same.

They have some decent characters with decent range but that's about it. But the writing is on par for Asylum Films; the zombie tornado, the mile long zombie herd, the inconstant running vs stumbling zombies, smoking weed with zombies...the list goes on. But it's Asylum, they're the fast food of film making lol. Now this Murphy dude can control people with his spit......this is def typical Asylum craziness lol.

Is there a reason Murphy's zombified look is so inconstant? One scene he looks half dead the next he looks cleaned up and half normal.

Every episode they come up with a new way to kill a Z. Fire extinguisher  This show is good ol dumb show to help the brain rest :yes::dance:

Loved the season opener, will definitely be keeping up with this season as well. This will tide me over until The Walking Dead comes back.:cool:

Episode 2 had more action in it than a season of TWD. It's a fucking shame really. Won't even give spoilers for those who didn't see it. But from stop to finish, non-stop action WHILE building tension.

Z-nation don't even have TWD budget and has more zombies, human drama, and action. :smh: I hate that the soap opera show has become what zombie is about these days.

still an entertaining show... but still tongue in cheek, and thus will never approach TWD. Just think about Episode one of the last season when they escaped Terminus. There hasn't been one thing on Z ever that has even approached just the opening scene (clubbing and bleeding the captives, etc). It can never match that because they will always be doing that wink wink, we're syfy shit. I like it, but it's not really even worth it to compare... just two completely different things.

You mean like when Z-Nation had those cannibals in the one camp who were keeping people alive to cut apart to eat? The way they were doing those poor bastards >>> Terminus.

They had an intense episode when they had to hide from that million strong zombie horde. Z nation just has done way more in less time. Are all the ideas perfect? Of course not, but I'd rather them swing and miss instead of no swing at all with filler ep after filler ep like TWD.

We have to wait weeks and weeks for shit to happen in TWD while they 'character build.' Shit that other shows have proven you can do in 1/4 the time. TWD is basically General Hospital with zombies in it.

I remember watching TWD with a chick and even she was like.... "is this a drama? I thought you don't like Lifetime shows."

They are two different things. If I could put them in Netflix categories, TWD would go under drama, Z-Nation under action.

Those titties were bouncing around this episode. In Z-nation style, I thought they'd knock her to the ground when she was running.

Damn she sexy as fuck....

I was worried for them.

They were sticking out a little too far in that hallway when dude was firing that machine gun at her.

:scared:

ill probably never watch this bullshit again!

ive cant think of another instance where i felt so robbed

of 45 minutes! total crap!
