if you're not a student of how racism/white supremacy works then what kefta says will always piss you off. He keeps everything short and sweet for those who don't want to take the time to do the proper research.
Black people and non-white people in the u.s. Are nothing but internal colonies. We are planned and designed to be an underclass. Black people are especially targeted and it is ultimately up to us to break the cycle.
But the typical formula many black people do is get their money up and move out of the hood....yet there are a vast majority of "us" that don't make it out of the hood no matter how hard we work. That makes the rest of us victims to drug abuse, violence, poverty, police brutality, weak and irrelevant education, constant unemployment, and unfortunately gangs.
Gangs are a product of their environment. As a matter of fact, everyone is a product of their environment. If there were an abundance of jobs, education, housing, food, water, energy, and opportunities in the hood then you would see no gangs at all. So in essence you change the environment.....you change the people. The hard part is for most of us to want to go back to the hood and help build it up in order to change the environment to empower our people.
On another note, racism/white supremacy will continue as long as the monetary system (capitalism) exists and authoritarian governments rule. We will never get equal justice and equal human rights as long as the u.s. Government and society have black people planned as a permanent underclass. Nor will we get justice by getting a "black face in a high place". We would have to build a dual power base (kind of like our own safety net) and at the same time work towards a social revolution that dissolves the need for a monetary system or government.
Otherwise, incidents like this that involve these gangs in poor areas in this country (and all other countries) will continue until the monetary system and authoritarian governments are disbanded. There are other potential solutions to this problem but i feel i've already wrote too much in this post to continue.
