funny story, if he never left he would have been the replacement, but because of his contract with hbo he couldn't leave his current show.
 
i really felt like he was the heir apparent to the Daily Show....but I feel like his HBO show gives him more room and he's doing his thing.

This is very similar to when Stephen Colbert set up his own super pac to expose craziness and corruption of super pacs. Very effective. :yes: :yes:

And now that John Stewart and Stephen Colbert are gone from Comedy Central, John Oliver is the only one left to do these sort of things.
