Saw the first episode last week, got the second queued up, might watch it tonight. Feels like Chappie and Ex-Machina with the rogue robotic AI premise. The wife is annoying.

She was built proper, I would feel cheated if I bought one and didn't get one like her. Lol. ( hope this isn't considered a spoiler but I can't blame little man. Fuck that hating ass programmer for building the cock blocking subroutine.)
The writers swung for the fences this episode - this was like a mini movie - I didn't think the show would take it there.

There are some subtleties built into this show over the treatment of "lower class" people aka androids in this case. Notice how the daughter(White) and her friend(White) treat the android(s). Listen to their tone when talking about "them" How they are taking over their lives hell her country( Sounds familiar anyone?) Notice their actions and total disregard and how far they would go towards the "things." Shooting at them and laughing about it. Putting bags over their heads etc. Notice how the mom defends her daughters actions and is not the least horrified that she would do something like that regardless if it's to a machine....

This better be a movie because the assholes that be got rid of "Almost Human" and that tv series was very good.
I don't have a particular issue w/ AMC...my thinking is along the lines of saundman in that the content will be slightly watered down since it's not (or didn't originate) on a premium cable channel
HBO is rebooting WestWorld. Western/Greek themed 'Fantasy Island' with robots. The robots are harmless but they have programming to adjust to situations to make the fantasy more realistic for the customer. What could go wrong? The scene that stuck out to me after the robots went insane was a dude trying to beast robot coochie in a tavern/brothel and getting stuck - the robot ho being a robot does the most logical thing to free him...
Finally watched both episodes the show is pretty good.

good show...I like the look of these UK shows...idk if it's the constant rainy weather but there's a dreary ominous tone to a lot of the scenic shots that helps create a mood...I'm watch the 2nd ep tonite...on kodi it has ep 1 and 2 and then jumps to 8

Yeah, astute observation. That's why I love sci-fi. All the good ones draw parallels on humanity. The script for the UK version couldn've been much better. The pacing and multiple story lines clash with each other rather than compliment. I'll give it a chance until the end of the season but I feel they could've done a lot more so far. I guess because in the UK we tend to have 6-8 episodes per season (8 in this case.) it rarely leaves adequate time for devlopment.
