The Cleveland Cavaliers have a huge summer ahead of them.

Fresh off their Game 6 NBA Finals loss to the Golden State Warriors, the Cavaliers have big decisions to make regarding a lot of their key pieces. And according to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, the Cavs will be looking for major input from LeBron James as they construct their roster for next season:

James' foreseeable future is in Cleveland. With the ability to opt out of the two-year deal he signed with the Cavaliers last offseason, James must now decide just how much he wants to influence the Cavs as they enter a summer full of uncertainty and potentially massive spending.

The Cavs prefer he give a lot of input. In past similar situations, James has skewed toward passive-aggressiveness from the shadows. Taking such a position now would only add to the anxiety the franchise is sure to feel.

As Windhorst notes, the Cavs will have major decisions to make on Kevin Love, J.R. Smith—both of whom have player options they'll likely decline in order to become free agents, like James—Tristan Thompson, Iman Shumpert and Matthew Dellavedova, the latter three all likely to become restricted free agents.

The big decision is going to be regarding Love, who will want a max contract but struggled to mesh with James and the Cavs this season. Indeed, Love saw his points, rebounds and assists per game all decrease fairly dramatically, while his minutes per contest also declined.

While that wasn't shocking—Chris Bosh saw his numbers drop while playing next to James as well—it remains to be seen if Love wants to return to Cleveland and, perhaps more importantly, if James would even want him back.

Thompson, on the other hand, is a player he seemingly wants very much to return, even noting during the conference finals, per Windhorst, that "Tristan should probably be a Cavalier for his whole career. There's no reason why he shouldn't."

Ultimately, the Cavs are going to want to keep James happy, meaning that Thompson is a player they'll likely look to lock up long term simply because James has vocally said they should, in so many words. It remains to be seen how vocal James will be with the other roster decisions to come, but it certainly sounds as though the Cavs are open to him helping shape the roster as much as possible.

lebron: please god can u help me

god: i've given u more help than moses and jesus combined and u still fail me..read my lips no more favors

Kevin love needs to go. Resign Thompson and mozgov and some how get rondo so they can move Irving to sg. Rondo should be cheap or get Carroll from the Hawks.

I would say a Rondo/Irving backcourt would work cuz Rondo needs to play with a guard who can shoot the ball

But he wants to be the primary ball handler and that job belongs to Lebron so no

Cavs don't need Rondo pill head ass

Lebron is the player/coach/gm/ and owner......he's the president of the united states.
He's Michael......everybody else is Tito.
what he say goes.

Lebron doesn't need to play with the ball. In fact you can argue having a ball dominant pg might extend his career and give him more energy during the playoffs.

I'd say great. the players he picked up during the season took them all the way to the finals
Close only counts playing horse shoes and with hand grenades. Even he said he'd rather not make the playoffs than lose in the finals. Basically, "second place is the first place loser." Everyone is banking on Love and Irving being healthy next year, but that's no guarantee. Not to mention I don't think Love is 100% sold on not being THE guy in his own time. Shump and JR are both hit or miss and Lebron had to put up video game stats to still get beat 2 games to 4. Just wondering if he has the acumen to address all those issues and improve is team as a de facto GM.

The Cavs were missing three starters off of their roster in The Finals. Take three starters off of any team in The Finals and they'll get swept. Lebron got them two wins and could've gotten a third had he taken the ball to the basket on the final play of regulation in the first game. So being a GM was a success in his first year with the Cavs.

Nah man they were better off missin the playoffs like the Lakers. The Hornets did better than the Cavs, they didnt lose in the Finals. Kobe fan/rings are the only thing logic.

I told yall over a month ago Bron would take more scrutiny losing in the Finals than defending champ Timmy did in the first round.

By the same token--if we're going by hypotheticals--one could say GS could have swept them if they'd gone small ball sooner and started Iguodala. I'm not saying Lebron failed miserably, but Love and Irving are still injury prone. He needs fresh legs, youth. He should have taken a chance building the team with Wiggins instead of trying to win a chip straight out the gate.

He's bought a lot of Jordans over the years

only had 1 pair of jordans in my life and that was a gift from a chick hell i had more pair of pippen and penny's than i had jordans..u on the other hand have lebron tighty whiteys, pillow cases, night lights, soap, condoms, toothpaste, and tats of ur lebronny, u prob got a shirtless pic of that nig as ur screensaver

Bro I was thinking about Rondo after game 1, I said, "you can count on Mo Williams or Ramon Session will be back with the Cavs". Then I realized Session just signed with Was.

These were my thoughts on Rondo...

I think he'd would be fine, but the the am would blossom only if Kevin Love comes back.

A lineup of

Rondo
Irving
James
Love
Mozgov

Probably work better than

Rondo
Irving
James
Thompson
Mozgov

Even tho, I much rather them continue going with a tradition big lineup. This would be easier to guard Lebron but maybe if he work on his handles, things would be a little easier for him.

Also this could work...moving lebron to the point. This "MY" ideal move.
Run the offense thought, Love and Irving, then let Lebron close the game out.

Lebron
Irving
Shum or Gerald Green
Love
Mozgov

That's just my thought, Rondo works if Love returns or Aldridge happens if love walks.

Staying big with Rondo would mean, TT have to improve his post game, just so he can get way more quality touches down low, and TMo work that midrange like Luc lonely or Big Z.

I like that smash mouth, physical style...
That's why I like watching the pacers and memphis.

he plays checkers as usual and gets the usual outcome

Stop lying. You bought the OGs, and get the retros every year when new colors drop. Prolly got one of them Wizards 23 jerseys collecting dust in your closet as well. Jordan wont even acknowledge you unless u spent $300 on his merchandise, so I havent met one of his fanatics yet that aint gave at least a few bills to Mike over 30 years of fandom.

When they show the Cavs bench....:smh:

All that dead weight...Shawn Marion,Miller,Brendon Haywood,Perkins...and none of them could give them anything?

Get NBDL players who could at least get up and down the court.

sorry dude u ain't never seen me in those sneaker threads goin crazy for jordans..only liked a few pair in my life..never paid 200 in my life for kicks, damn sure will never pay 300..u on the other hand prob got mad lebron with all them flaming faggy color editions be having..i think jordan is a better player than lebron.. i don't be in every jordan thread like u be in every lebron thread, i don't have pet names for jordan like u have pet names for lebron.. i don't think jordan is a freedom fighter like u think ur bronny is..when they think of lebron dickrider they think of u when they think of dame dash dickrider they think of u.. unlike u i can give respect to a player i don't like .. i don't care for lebron or shaq but i would never deny that they are a force to be reckon with..i still would put jordan over lebron anyday juss like i would put dream over shaq anyday.. u on the other hand will make jordan seem like he was worst than allan houston and people on his squad like will perdue seem like bill russel..u'll make it seem like jordan played highschool jv teams to win the finals..that right there is why i'll troll ur love for lebron

You can tell during most of the press conferences, when LBJ was asked about the fans, bringing a title to Cleveland, the Organization, etc, that the thrill that he had in Cleveland when he was younger has passed. He's mainly concerned about OFF COURT business now.

Of course he wants to win titles.......but i think a bigger picture is in the back of his mind. He turns 31 in a few months.....he'll be retiring in less than 10 years. He legacy is almost sealed. Once he won 2 titles in Miami, and then bounced, from that point forward i think his focus was more on OF COURT BUSINESS; money, OWNERSHIP, etc.

Love cannot stay in Cleveland with Lebron. He's a pf killer. They need more small ball help seeing as they can out rebound anyone. They also have to figure out how to preserve their starters health for the longevity of the season. I was thinking of these fa

Rondo
Lin
Gerald green
Brooks
Damarre Carroll
Danny green
Lou Williams
Bargs
Williams.

If they can get 2-3 of any of those players they are in good shape.

Bullshit. You don't play the way he just did if you feel that way. He was out of his mind.
