Winter is Coming- Game of Thrones s3 & s4 *spoilers*(TV fans & readers only upto bk 4

Re: Winter is Coming- Game of Thrones s3 & s4 *spoilers*(TV fans & readers only upto

arya will probably be "blinded" @ the end of the season too

*edit*

never mind

I always thought her being blinded was punishment for reverting back to Arya when she killed that singer dude who was with Sam in Bravos.

But others think it was part her training to develop some Dare Devil type skills

Re: Winter is Coming- Game of Thrones s3 & s4 *spoilers*(TV fans & readers only upto

wonder how the show is gonna connect arya's storyline since she hasn't connected with any of the (former) night's watchmen like in the book?

do yall think varys will go back to king's landing in the season finale and kill cercei's uncle like in the last book?

Arya never reveals who she is to Sam so I'm not sure how critical that whole subplot was. There are some preview chapters out which strongly imply that Arya interacts with at least one major character in the next book.

yeah, I think The Uncle gets got the same way. That scene had serious impact even in the book. I can't believe they wouldn't take advantage of that on the show.

yea i'm thinkin the same thing with varys, can't wait to see the tv fandom explode with excitement if/when that happens:lol:

Re: Winter is Coming- Game of Thrones s3 & s4 *spoilers*(TV fans & readers only upto

In the book its noted several times that Tyrion has a lot of knowledge of dragonlore and ways to control dragons because of his extensive reading... I wonder if the show is going to use any of that?

I got the impression it was part of the training anyway, but was also being used conveniently as a check for not completely shedding of her identity

I think the show runners dropped a major book spoiler in the episode guide for episode 9

They were talking about Stannis and Shireen and mentioned that George told them about it.

I was like What??. How could George have told them? Is this gonna happen in the books too?

In the books, the whole blood of a king thing is laid out differently. Craster's kid was swapped by Jon Snow to keep him away from Melissandre. Gendry is still roaming around. I'm guessing they streamlined that whole arc.

Last episode has to be Cersei's walk of shame and Jon Snow getting shanked by Olly. Oh, and Dany meeting up with the Dothraki.

Re: Winter is Coming- Game of Thrones s3 & s4 *spoilers*(TV fans & readers only upto

Looks like they're doing that thing from Arya's "Winds of Winter" sample chapter....can't wait to see how that goes, next week...

You're right about them trying to use other people for Melisandre's magic, but here's the EXACT quote from the Inside the episode guide

When George first told us about this, it was one of those moments that I remember looking at Dan, it was just, "Ugh, that's so horrible and so good in a story sense because it all comes together." You know, from the beginning, from the very first time we saw Stannis and Melisandre, they were sacrificing people, they were burning people alive on the beaches of Dragonstone, and it all comes to this...

That's from one of the exec producers. That's pretty definitive that this is going to happen in the books one way or another.

I saw the casting notice for next season and it appears that Sam's father, Randall Tarly is on the show. I bet they make Davos go get him.

On the real, I have no idea how these showrunners are going to tie up ALL these loose ends in twenty episodes. Bran. Rickkon. Benjen. Mance Ryder. The Greyjoys. Shit, that's just stuff up north.

Same way they do everything else....leave a ton of shit out and leave you wondering.

People that keep saying the show is diverting from the books don't realize that the show runners have the advantage of knowing how the entire story of Ice and Fire ends.

Re: Winter is Coming- Game of Thrones s3 & s4 *spoilers*(TV fans & readers only upto

In the books this scene from the fighting pits...isn't the whole city destroyed? Does her husband die or was he down with it, I can't remember

Re: Winter is Coming- Game of Thrones s3 & s4 *spoilers*(TV fans & readers only upto

Yall can clearly see Jon is dead now...unless some mystical shit happens to his blood.

Re: Winter is Coming- Game of Thrones s3 & s4 *spoilers*(TV fans & readers only upto

Well it's not clear yet what happened in the books either, since that's where his story was left off...

Do y'all think that they're gonna eventually do the whole kings landing falling apart with varys killing tywins bro at the end of book 5, no?

No clue where they go now. I guess it depends on what happens between Dorne and the Lannisters. If they go to war then Kevan Lannister can step up to a more prominent role and that might make him a target.

But Varys is on the other side of the world. I see him and Tyrion staying there in Merreen most if not all of next season.

Re: Winter is Coming- Game of Thrones s3 & s4 *spoilers*(TV fans & readers only upto

So what will they do with Davos now.

They saved him for a reason. In Book 5 he played the ambassador for Stannis. and ends up trying to find Rickon. He has no Lord to follow now. Will he join the nights watch?

Re: Winter is Coming- Game of Thrones s3 & s4 *spoilers*(TV fans & readers only upto

Stannis ain't dead. Theon, Sansa, Brienne, Pod, and Stannis will all head for the wall where a resurrected Jon will have rallied a wildling force that will march victoriously on Winterfell. Stannis will return to the wall to kill Melisandre and also reveal the truth of what happened to Davos, who will end up killing Stannis. Either that or Stannis is killed in the second siege on Winterfell. Just my quick and dirty thoughts after last night's episode.

Re: Winter is Coming- Game of Thrones s3 & s4 *spoilers*(TV fans & readers only upto

apparently jon snow is really dead.

http://www.vulture.com/2015/06/kit-harington-couldnt-wait-for-you-to-find-out.html

kinda hard to believe that jon is really dead since he is central to so many of the show's biggest ultimate questions.

maximum shade

My initial thoughts were that they left Catelyn dead b/c they didn't want Jon's resurrection to seem run of the mill when it happens. I've shifted, but only slightly. I now believe that they pounded home the fact that Cat is dead and gone in interviews and other extra show material so that when they tell us Jon is dead, we'll actually believe it.

I'm guessing that too...and that's why I don't believe stannis is dead...she looked pretty interested when dude said he used the magic to create the shadow thing...will probably take him "prisoner" and try to find the witch...which I'm sure stannis would be interested in doing as well

I'm going to assume they will find a way for him to meet Wyman Manderly or someone in the family.... :dunno:

Re: Winter is Coming- Game of Thrones s3 & s4 *spoilers*(TV fans & readers only upto

Wow. Sounds like major emphasis on the north next season. Sounds like an Umber and a Manderly.

I wonder if the outlaw band will be a group we've seen before lile Thoros and and Berics group or something new.

Greatest Swordsman in the land with legenday sword? Could we bet getting a Tower of Joy flashback?

Legendary Fighter: A man in his thirties or forties who is a great swordsman and a paragon of knighthood. He carries a hugely famous sword on his back. The show is seeking a very impressive swordsman for the role- the best in Europe, for a week of filming fight scenes for a season 6 role. His ethnicity/race isn’t specified, unlike many other roles.

I was thinking Great Jon Umber. But he'd have to be captured by the Frey's right? Have we seen him since season 2?

Re: Winter is Coming- Game of Thrones s3 & s4 *spoilers*(TV fans & readers only upto

With filming for Season 6 of Game of Thrones well underway, the latest confirmed location may prove a major fan theory to be true. Avid viewers of Season 5 will remember different characters referencing various past events regarding Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen, who many fans believe are Jon Snow's real parents. Along with the Season 6 casting call for a "legendary fighter", thought to be Arthur Dayne - a character who died many years before the events of Season 1 took place - it's likely that viewers are going to be treated to a flashback sequence involving the Tower of Joy next year. According to the Song of Ice and Fire books, Dayne was a close friend of Rhaegar Targeryen and helped him to kidnap and hold hostage Ned Stark's sister, Lyanna. Ned Stark and a group of men subsequently set out on a mission to recuse Lyanna at the Tower of Joy, where they encountered Dayne and three other guards. Dayne died in the fighting, with Ned and Howland Reed the only two survivors. Inside the tower, Ned found his sister in a pool of her own blood (presumably after going through labor). Ned made Lyanna an unspecified promise before her death, with many convinced that he vowed to take care of her son Jon and keep his true identity a secret. This is the R+L=J theory, and the reason why it's so relevant to the Game of Thrones present-day story is because many believe that this scene will confirm Jon Snow's true (and royal) parentage.

HBO recently announced new Season 6 filming locations, including Castillo de Zafra in Guadalajara, Spain. The castle is centuries-old and isolated, making it the perfect location for the Tower of Joy. Despite the Tower potentially appearing in a flashback, we're feeling optimistic that it reveals more clues about Jon's fate. Optimistic, we know, but why would the producers focus on the rumored backstory of Jon if he's simply to remain dead? Fans of the R+L=J theory are hoping for some validation in Season 6, and we're convinced that's where the story is heading. Along with all the references to characters that have died long before the series started, this adds more fuel to the fire that Jon will return despite his mutinous murder in the Season 5 finale. If the theory is true and Jon really does have royal Targaryen blood coursing through his veins, it means he can more easily be brought back to life by Melisandre, who so conveniently returned to Castle Black before Jon's death. Bran Stark, who's been confirmed to return in Season 6, is a warg and can also see into the past via trees, so it's possible the flashback will come to light through him. Now that we've put that out there, all that's left to do is wait until April to see if the Tower of Joy does indeed appear in Season 6. Do you think the castle could play a part in the return of Jon Snow?

'Game of Thrones' Season 6: Jon Snow Actor Returns to Filming Location

Never mind Kit Harington's hair, this is the real reason why the Jon Snow rumors won't stay dead. As Watchers on the Wall noted, "Game of Thrones" Season 6 starts filming this week, and Kit -- who is being stalked for Jon Snow spoilers, bless him -- was once again spotted on a flight to Belfast, Northern Ireland, a key location for GoT production. One of the site's readers, who was on the flight from London to Belfast, spotted both Kit and Tom Wlaschiha (Jaqen H'ghar).

It would be one thing if this was the only time Kit was seen. Then maybe you could argue that he was returning to film a dead body scene, ala Charles Dance for Tywin Lannister. But, as they noted, he's had a few visits to Belfast in the past couple of months for pre-production.

So the running Jon Snow theory still seems to be that he'll be brought back from the dead by Melisandre, who is now at The Wall. She sees something in him and ... well, you know. His story needs to go on. It'll be interesting to see how they handle it, though, assuming it's right. He can't very well go back to being Lord Commander, so once he's ... undead ... what will he do?

In related-ish news, Irish actor Eddie Jackson is said to have booked a mystery role on GoT, heading to Belfast this week and Spain in October. If you're sick of the Jon Snow rumors/sightings, maybe new Season 6 casting intel and speculation (Iron Islands? Rickon? Flashbacks?) is more interesting.
