Game Of Thrones: The Sopranos with swords or Dynasty in chainmail?

Do you remember the convo between Tyrion and Tywin where Tywin said something like "I have no way to prove you aren't my son?" It was right after Tywin became the Hand of the King again, and Tyrion was asking why he was replaced.

It's all speculative. Keep in mind, he didn't have a lot of love for Tyrion anyway because he believed his wife died giving birth to him.

I just think it would be really weak for both Jon Snow and Tyrion to be revealed to secretly be Targaryen.

It's would be so cliche to do that and that's one of things I liked about Song of Ice and Fire that it avoided a lot of typical fantasy cliches.

This is my first foray into the fantasy genre, so I'm really not familiar with what is cliche or not. But considering how strong the Targaryens once were, I think it would be fitting for there to be more family members left than Khalessi. If she is to take back the Iron Throne, or at least be in serious contention, she's gonna need more than foot soldiers and dragons, she's gonna need family to hold her down. Tyrion and/or John Snow just could be it.

How on Earth could you think Cersei adds nothing to the story??? She's one of the most interesting characters in Westeros.

How? Easy. I just don't think her character adds anything to where the storyline is NOW. Yeah, yeah...the writers used her as the catalyst for a lot of nefarious shit that involved other, WAY WAY more interesting characters (Jamie, Tywin and Tyrion among them). But that's it. I would enjoy the show immensely if she never showed up again or spoke not one more line of dialogue. She wouldn't make my Top 15 most interesting GoT characters. Spare me any lectures to the contrary.

To each his own though, playboy.

No lecture, you're entitled to your opinion. And I somewhat agree if you're asking why she's there now. I may have misread, but I thought you meant she didn't add anything at all to the story since it began.

So what do you guys think about the theory that Tyrion is not Tywin's son, but the son of the Mad King?

id think he'd have the silver hair trait.

Yeah, but the 7 kingdoms were united by the blood shed and fear of the Targaryens, not by some noble means. So if anybody can bring the same blood shed and fear, why wouldn't they be the "rightful heirs." If you want to be technical, the only people who can claim legitimate birth right to Westeros are the Children of the Forest. Since they are no more, it's whoever can slang the most iron. Just my opinion.

they still around,

slangin' fireballs!

According to the books, his hair type and eye color is more similar to the Targaryens than the Lannisters. Where are the Children of the Forest now? Wifey thinks they're somehow related to the White Walkers, but I don't see how besides the fact that the survivors were supposed to have fled deep into the North.

Is Tyrion a Targaryen?

Thanks for the video.

Just went back and watched S03E01:

GOT S03E01 Tywin said to Tyrion "Men's laws give you the right to bear my name and display my colors since I cannot prove you are not mine," which likely goes to further prove the point of Tyrion being the son of the Mad King. How would it be proven other than to have Tyrion set on fire and not burn? It's not like they had DNA Testing and Maury Povich in Casterly Rock.

It would make a bit of sense though since Jon Snow's origins have never been brought to light. Ned Stark was too honorable a man to cheat, although there was this one girl, but Ned never explained and got extremely defensive anytime the subject was broached. The video that Tuck posted seemed show Jon as being the son of Lianna Stark and Aerys Targeryen

After watching the vid above about the Tyrion theory. I have to conclude it's more likely than not that he's got Targ blood. I still don't like it. I'd prefer that Tyrion fate be determined by his knowledge and wits vs the fact that he got some genetic kinship to the other characters.

I guess we will see

I think the MAJOR plot twist of GRRM story is that Danaerys is the main villain

Look at her resume, she's committed and justified some major atrocities

I kinda disagree. :smh:

Lord Peytr Baelish is the MAIN villain, imo.

Shhheeeiitt... the way Baelish operates & double-crosses everyone.... I wouldn't be surprised if the MAJOR plot-twist is GRRM revealing in one of his upcoming books.... that Littlefinger somehow 'struck a deal' with the White Walkers (to hedge ALL his bets) loooong before Robert Baratheon asked Ned Stark to be the 'Hand of the King'.

"Littlefinger would let Westeros burn to the ground, if he could be King of the Ashes" - Varys

Baelish is the type to let the White Walkers kill everyone in Westeros... then double-cross them, in order to take over their entire 'army of undead' and rule Westeros.

I don't think it matters to him if 'his subjects' are alive, or dead. He just wants to be King.

This is a good point as well. Even when fans talk about the show, they tend to overlook or gloss over Littlefinger's role in much of what has taken place. Remember he convinced Lysa Arryn to poison Jon Arryn, and then she sent the letter to Catelyn saying that the Lannisters did it. He played a major role in sparking the Stark/Lannister conflict.

This here is a good quextion. Why did the White walkter ignore Sam in season 3?

Because he was a coward, just like the guy at the very beginning of the show.

I'm convinced tyrion is targaryen as well...rewatching him speak to jon snow in that 1st ep one could argue he set him on the path that he is on now...no coincidence either imo...I think the show sat us on our asses early on by breaking tradition and being very unpredictable...but now I think it will follow a more conventional path

interesting...sort of on some predator shit...only killing those who pick up arms against them...I would buy that except for the children who have been turned to walkers...I think they always leave a survivor(s) to spread the word that "winter is coming" and sam just got flat out lucky

Which is what they want us to think so they can knock us on our ass again:smh:

That was funny, I've never paid Coldplay more than 30 secs before this

Rastafarian Targaryen ?

Jamie singing about incest with a picture of Cersei on the piano

Yeah, me neither. Probably still won't but this was hilarious all the way through. And I'm in love with Khalessi even more now.

Yeah, she died giving birth to him and Ned took him in as his own. John Snow, Khalessi, and Tyrion all killed their mothers at birth.

The more I get into the back story, the more I'm of the opinion that there should be a show or movie covering from when the Mad King took the throne through Roberts Rebellion. That would be amazing.

A show covering the backstory could rival this one.

Imagine watching the mad king kill both Neds father and brother, or Jaime killing the Mad King:yes:

Only problem would be actors because all the ones currently cast in their roles would be too old to play the characters that young.

I swear I had this same thought while watching the History and Lore vids yesterday. "The back story is damn near better than the show!"

Told yall. The backstory enhances the show. They could literally run shows forever just based on back stories.

So they don't kill cowards?

I would love to see The Children of the Forest vs. The First Men, The Age of Heroes, Aegon Targaryen's arrival at Kings Landing... You're right. There's enough material to keep this thing going forever.

They have the back story that relates to their respective seasons on each blu ray release narrated by the actors/actresses, one of the main reasons I buy them:yes:

WTF are you talking about?

Her character doesn't add anything to where the storyline is NOW? :hmm:

Cotdamn.. you have not been paying attention. :smh:
Lemme help you out...

The very FIRST SCENE (of Season 5 Episode 1) started off with a ‘young Cersei’ visiting a witch in the forest who foretold her future.

The Witch told her: "You will be Queen for a time... then comes another. Younger. More beautiful.... To cast you down and take all you hold dear."

Cersei thinks the prophecy is about Margery and the Tyrell family.
But more than likely that witch was really talking about Khaleesi.

So pretty much everything that is happening RIGHT NOW is because of Cersei trying to PREVENT this prophecy from becoming a reality.

No need to give you any lectures, chief. :smh:
You probably wouldn't be able to understand them anyway. :smh:

Honestly, I think this show might be too much for you to follow.

Just saying.
