Side query: Were you told that your records would be expunged after satisfying your sentence?

I think the rules vary considerably from state to state. In Ohio, they give you one shot at it. As long as you don't have more than one felony case, you good. It took months for them to update their databases after mine was expunged.

I'm thinking that only paper records can really be expunged. Anything on the computer migrates to so many different places it will be damn near impossible to get them all. So, when you say successful, to what degree?

to the degree that someone/anyone

looking into my background finds nothing!

Governors don't grant expungements in Illinois...they only do pardons.

:smh::smh::smh::smh::smh:

it was some years ago,

so mabey i did apply for a pardon(went though gov. received letter w/ denial). but now i am trying to get

anything from past exponged from record.

also from your link!

The other pathway to expungement is if the governor grants you a pardon.
-so gov's do grant expongements!

first link is all information regarding illinois

second link is state by state

I had mine expunged but I owe most of that to an aunt who worked in FBI. I didn't have to serve time or community service. Just detention anger mangement. After I completed that my record was cleaned. I didn't start getting in trouble until I got older or I didn't start getting caught.

Go on job interviews with mad confidence.

Clean jacket like a mutha fucka.

Depends on the State. Are you in Texas? If not, I can't help you.

It will also depend on the disposition of the charge. Was there a final conviction, acquittal, etc.?

Texas doesn't expunge convictions only arrests.

Most he can hope for in Texas for a conviction is a set aside which means no conviction but it will still show up in a records check.

drugs.

don't listen to the tin foil hat wearers, you can get that taken care of.

I had a trafficking conviction and the time to go with it.

I have lost opportunities because of it but have worked in the financial industry for the last 10 years.

Mine wasn't expunged but I did have the conviction set aside and the initial indictment dismissed.

The thing with me is full disclosure. If I get to the point of accepting a job offer I let them know and provide the court order as well as the FDIC clearance,

Legally I don't have a conviction anymore and I have a concealed carry permit but in employment many of those HR companies don't know what they see and seeing the conviction means to them you lied.....

Best advice i can give you is to hire an attorney who has connections. Find an attorney who used to be a prosecutor or suburban mayor, anything where he would have some connections. Your case will be called first, and things will be a lot more favorable. Will cost you more than a bargain priced attorney, but well worth it. Do your research on-line or ask around at the county clerks office to get a recommendation. Good Luck.

Okay. Short answer: you can't. If someone digs enough they will find it but that's like DOD high level clearance or some shit. Regular job searchers won't find anything if you follow the process by law.

I hope you are able to get what you need and achieve success if you get it expunged or not. Good luck going forward.

That is why I asked what the final disposition was. A conviction can not be expunged. A deferred adjudication probation can be sealed as long as the probation was completely successfully. It requires the filing of a Motion for Non-Disclosure.
