This was a discussion i had with a few of my friends last not before the finals came on and just was wonder how bgol handle this issue.

Im not going to lie for the most part i try to avoid them but its kinda hard considering the majority of them are supervisors. But one of my supervisors is real cool and i feel like i have to keep at least one in pocket just so in case. She has helped me in the past with varies issues so its all good.

To be real with you most of my supervisors are cool but i still dont trust them except the one mention above. Now non supervisors i dont really fuck with at all they all seem to be amused by me and my co-workers blackness.

What i mean by that is they always asking stupid ass questions or just jumping in conversations that dont really belong to their kind. What i hate the most is during breaks or when me and my black brothers are having a conversation and you know when we get comfortable around each other a lil slanguage might leak out even at work. What kills me is these muthafuckaz have the most bizarre look on their faces and i know its coming...........

"what does that mean"

I usually tell them dont worry about its nothing

So how do you do it bgol???????

When I worked for them... yes, they were ALL supervisors, office personnel, and managers. A couple "black" uppers that STILL had someone over them. The whites were normally all buddy buddy, but on the flipside blacks tthat were too buddy buddy was thought to be scheming. All the blacks and Hispanics were stuck in dead-end labor positions. The whites were real joksters and snitches. They would never get "fired" but reassigned to a desk. Don't trust none of them because once shit hits the fan, you'll be first to go.

I keep away from them unless I need/want something :dunno: there's only one I'm semi-cool w/ who'll I'll actually seek out occasionally to chill w/ during breaks...the rest are phony and envious and I do my best to keep away from their negative energy

Brothers/sisters, latinos, etc. aren't any better.

For the most part I don't fuck with anyone I work with.

I'm friendly/cordial but I keep to myself as much as possible.

I'm unapproachable as fuck. I'm the only brother there and they don't bother me with nonsense. They act scared of me half the time

One word... Cordially yet with caution avoiding topics such as religion, politics, and anything personal about myself

i don't deal with them. i dont strike up conversation with them, but they seem to always to always want to talk to me, asking about my weekend, typical shit that i wouldnt bother to ask anyone else. They don't bother me though.

shit black women have been my saving grace in the work world...I'd truly lose my mind @ the work place if there weren't a couple of sisters to talk to since they hardly hire brothers wherever I've worked...I've been working 16 years now in a few different locations and this has always been the case for me...but no I don't fuck w/ latinos too hard on the job...most of them I've encountered have been whitewashed

watch for the setup

they'll tell you their life story

if you listen, or ask any questions about anything they told you

then they feel compelled to start asking you all kinds of personal sh!t

Damn lucky for you.

My experiences a lot of times with sisters/brothers in the workplace always reminds me of that brother in 12 years a slave who was militant as hell until his massa came to get him and he became docile and obedient as hell.

Same with the Latinos.

The two types of white people I can't stand in the workplace are the ones who try to relate to you by either referencing black cultural shit assuming you automatically like/are interested in it because your black. These same ones will also try to relate by attempting to speak slang (usually out dated. pronounced wrong or used wrong) as if speaking normally wouldn't get through to me.

The ones I hate the most though are the ones who denounce racism a d speak to you about it on a regular yet are racist as hell themselves and don't think you peep it.

I peep that too. Once they start talking about themselves, I'm always looking for an exit point in the convo and/or the room

Bro. I got wrote up twice because I had a "Bad attitude" and made working with me uncomfortable before for this very reason.

^^^^^^^^^^

I reflect their conversation back to them. Talk about kids? Let's talk about THEIR kids. Talk about politics? Let's talk about THEIR politics. Talk about housing/finances? Let's talk about THEIR housing/finances...

I've learned from past mistakes and the mistakes of other people of color.

90% of the white people I work with remotely don't even know I'm Black. And they never will if I can help it. The people on here who are actually Black understand 100%...

my job doesnt have a policy against carrying firearms at work.
so i take advantage of it and i carry mine.....always.....and since they know i do,
they leave me the fuck alone. matter fact.....when they go out to get lunch...
they'll be like...."hey champ.....we're going out to get lunch.....need us to bring you
anything back ole buddy ole pal?"

You sound like me

Its sad because you cant be to quite because then they think your unhappy or not approachable.

man its like the game of thrones at my second gig :smh::smh::smh::smh:

I can't see that being a problem at my job. For some reason a lot of the white folks are cool and the ones that aren't don't try to get in folks business.

Very easily, control what they know about me, keep them at bay, give the Farrakan smile when they do or say silly shit and do my work, go home.

Don't trust that "cool" shit. You've been warned.

its that easy huh..........

No. It really takes money, to make money. On top of it all, it's a struggle and a headache in the building stages. Let's not forget the drain of constantly protecting your business and name.

not trying to shit on sampson but i get where he coming from but while your building your brand you gotta eat. So your still kinda in the mix until your own shit pop off

Im not going to lie I've looked into starting my own business but that shit aint easy at all. Im still toying around with a few ideas on a product i want to make but getting all the paper work together is so confusing.

Work only.

We've fired a few for negative remarks towards mr Obama.

they thought freedom of speech was a toy

White folks at my job will almost walk into a wall to keep from speaking.

The discrimination is abundant you could file 2 lawsuits before lunch most days. Corp sent out an email saying "We don't practice affirmative action here"

They promote white boys fresh out of Best Buy selling tv's to engineers with no certs. They let white folks take 12 smoke breaks, play candy crush for hours but look at us crazy if we spend 30 extra seconds walking back to our cubicle.

Can't wait till I can get up out of here.

its that easy huh..........
Nope, not at a. But it gives me a piece of mind not having to deal with the politics involved in working for a firm.

True. And honestly, most small businesses fail but it's better to try and fail than to not try at all.

Just ask yourself would you be happier (potentially) making significantly less for the first couple of years, working harder with more stress without having to deal with the bullshit at work... Or would you rather have a secure job and stay in the same predicament. :dunno:
