I don't have a whole bunch to say yet but here is what I got-

I was late to this, watching all the other shit that the literary crew watches around here. This shit is on Netflix, and some story-oriented cats I know kept telling me to check it out. I did. I'm hooked. I'm gonna leave the serious analysis to the usual suspeects, but for now, go with this;

The time period is similar to Boardwalk Empire, but it is in no way derivative although they do address some of the same issues in a period sense. If anything, it gives me the feel of what A prequel to The Wire would be like if the focus was on the rise of the Barksdales, and the Barksdales had had the Viet Nam experience of the cats in The Deer Hunter.


So check it out. We all know that there aint shit else to watch right now, so you're welcome. Thank me by sending me Groupons to Dames and Games in downtown LA.

Finished season 2 last night. Man, this is a good gangster show, the best I remember seeing from the gangster's perspective. We need the BGOL Writer's Guild to come in here and break that shit down.
