Google Maps Has Been Tracking Your Every Move, And There’s A Website To Prove It

Here is where I'm going to get philosophical with you regarding our trade: all that data can make marketers lazy and create lazy ads because they are focusing on the data. From working on the creative side, I cringe at bad ads, but most agencies and brands don't give a shit, as long as they're effective.

On the flip side it stops people from wasting huge amounts of money on ineffective advertising and creates better efficiency. Big brands could just market regardless for brand awareness purposes, while a bad ad campaign can kill smaller companies.

Agreed. I think that there will be cases in the near future that will bring this topic to the forefront. One example is of the child porn dude who got busted because of Google. This is an instance where no one is really complaining, because it got a scumbug/pedo off the streets. But there will be an instance where something pops up where something someone does in the privacy of their own home is brought to the light through data and he suffers negatively from that info.

I remember a dude sued LA County because he ran a red light and the red light camera took his picture. They mailed the ticket and evidence to his home, and his wife saw him in the car with his mistress. Dude was fucked and ended up suing the county because the wife filed for divorce. From that point forward, passengers in red light camera pictures faces are blurred.

It's all a slippery slope.

I have a website with social engine software and when I started looking at the features, it was a bit creepy. I could see all the private messages and chats that people were having between each other. It was incredibly intrusive... so part of it is indeed trusting that Google won't do malicious things with the data and that there won't be security leaks.

Crazy how this made me remember my old Neverwinter Nights mods I used to create and play online in early 2000s and how as the DM I was able to see the private chat between the players within my game.

I instantly wondered if the government was able to do the same on the ol AOL and such back in the days.:smh::smh:

The only way to make a statement is to stay disconnected. Do NOT promote ap sharing your contacts, do not Sync..... Use your cell phone for only calls....

but i got a feeling none of you will listen.

So don't have a phone period if you are that tinfoil. They can still figure out where you are by triangulation.

If someone wanted to track you bad enough, there's plenty of ways to do it. Turn on the speaker of your phone. use the gyroscopes of your phone to record sound. take high speed video of you from a distance and calculate the vibration of items in the room to record sound (even somewhat usable with standard quality)

We've been in a mission impossible like world for a long time

They sneak this on and leave an option buried in your phone. This is bullshit.

I wrote about how Google could easily create a VPN and End to End email encryption.

I think I have a GPS device implanted, rather than tracking through my phone.

Google, Microsoft, and other tech companies have no standards when it comes to protecting your privacy. Based on my experience, they let any piece of shit get access to track, look at your emails, or access data on your phone or computer. When I mean anybody it could be some loser, mentally ill stalking piece of shit who can now follow you around.

I would take the lead of the Chinese who have ran them off quietly and discreetly without embarrassment, probably after infiltrating them. They will sell that shit to us but won't go near it. It looks like they are trying to get rid of Microsoft through a similar manner (asking for source code) hoping they will walk.

if i REALLY need to get something done,

i leave cell in a certain location. sometimes, i will also remove the battery!

Man I turned that shit off from day 1. Location services stay off on my device and I never share my location. Fuck that shit.

I try to do the same. I will turn it on to update local info that is pertinent, but it pisses me off that so much shit will not give search results (ATMs or bank locations, etc.) until you allow them to locate you. It seems to be rampant to me. I need a thermostat to fix my sister-in-laws car, and I can't get a fucking price on it without revealing my location? WTF!?!

Turned that shit off day 1 since I got this phone almost 3 yrs ago and just checked and I have no history for today....and I traveled all over the place today using Google maps!

I have people that follow me around everywhere, there is definitely a data leak within these companies endangering my life. The people getting this info are like garbage men, low life, piece of shit off the street. I had pieces of shit family members going behind my back getting access like it was candy. Could be a GPS tracker, but I doubt it, other data is being handed off.

They have Farraday bags, I would use that to keep your location unknown. Until these issues clear up and the government starts cracking down, I would limit my use of technology.

You cats crack me up. You're worried about Google tracking you, but you're using a device called a cell phone, that triangulates your position by hitting your local cell towers.

Google is just one of many vehicles used to track your wearabouts. People freely give it away anyway with social media.

Facebook, Foursquare, Snapchat, Whatsup, etc.

I can see grimey ass groupie broads using this to set up celebrities who bring them to their cribs.

Who brings hoes to the crib? That's what the hotel is for? Especially if you a celebrity. Either that or you bring them to the hoe spot which is essentially a spot rented/bought strictly for fucking hoes.

Wireless carriers may know your position but how can they profit from that information? Their business models isn't predicated on that information. Google's is. Google is a marketing agency that derives the majority of their revenue through advertising and a huge part of advertising is privacy including location. Wireless carriers make their money through consumers using their services. Big difference.

yall worry about google, they so big, they

would be stupid not to...

but I bet the same folks concerned about this,

got them store discount cards, where you show a store

discount card everytime you make a purchase..

if you own any of those, I dont care if its a clothing

store or supermarket..

there is big money in a legit email address and a list of

your spending habits...

and they sell yo info just as fast as google, if not faster....

What is the purpose of having this tracking information online. It serves no purpose and most people are unaware their location is being stored without their knowledge. Clearly, based on my observation, Microsoft, Google, and other tech companies are releasing your information to any loser, piece of shit on the street; endangering your life.

Then you look at data localisation policy of only keeping their servers in the U.S. and building undersea cable forcing packets to travel inefficiently all over the place.

No wonder I have people following me around, no matter where I go.

Censorship reasons my ass, banning Microsoft in the government and asking for their source code is to get them to take off.

Verizon's super-cookies are a super privacy violation

Verizon Wireless was caught violating customers' privacy, this time with so-called super-cookies that tracked people's online behavior and that can't be deleted from mobile devices.

U.S. Consumer Confidence Unexpectedly Decreased
Those versions of cookies — or "identifiers," in Verizon-speak — could be used by the company or its marketing partners to see what websites you visit and what pages you linger over. Those data, of course, are a gold mine for Verizon and for anyone trying to sell you stuff.

It's opt-out, not opt in, but how many people even know? They want money any way they can get it. ATT was doing it last year and stopped.

not only that, but who doesnt

password protect their phone!? i dont think a groupie will invest

time & energy or $ to try to get this info from google.
