Mike Tyson Got Some Fucking Nerve

Go back and watch the Pac Bradley second fight. You will understand why we go what we got last night.

Manny is not the same Manny. He is old. He does not move from side to side. He does not throw as many punches. The fight after Bradley don't count cause that white boy was a bummm.

Bottom line this fight should have happened 5 or 8 years ago. It just sucks that they charged 100 for that fight. It hurts the sport. (thank goodness for BGOL links)

Yes and no...pressure fighters always get older faster...so yes, Manny is not as explosive and he does seem to have lost his killer instinct...not being able to KO Algieri was a telltale sign...however, Roach said that everything came back together for this one fight...that the motivation was back...one would at have at least assumed a sustained Maidana level of effort for about 3 rounds....from round 1, Manny fell right in line with the Mayweather fight plan...this points to a failure on the part of Freddie Roach

I'm a floyd fan and have appreciated his fights in the past but last night's shit was boring...if that were a video game floyd would be guilty of "cheesing" ie getting the win but doing it using the same cheap moves repeatedly...he got the win tho and that was his objective

Tyson fights were exciting. 90 seconds of total dominance beats 12 rounds of mostly yawns. There's a reason people kept paying for those fights.

And Tyson-Holyfield II was one of the most entertaining spectacles in sports history. It was almost 20 years ago and will be remembered more in 2016 than tonight's fight will be.

this thread Grand Opening - Grand Closing

Mayweather fans try to justify his "boxing" style as if they prefer Olympic boxing to prize fighting.... only way I ever watch a Mayweather fight is if his baby moms in the ring

If he keeps doing the same thing it was up to Manny to do something about it and he didn't. I will run that play on a video game to death, Fuck that.

that's what getting off the juice will do to you

The fight brought them a multi million dollar purse, of course Roach is going to say the old Manny is back.

Both of those dudes are old. Floyd has a style that can last as an old fighter. This fight should have happened years ago. PPV has killed the sport of boxing but has helped the boxers

Nobody is trying to justify anything though. Just stating facts....Floyd fought the right he wanted to fight and Manny wasn't good or smart enough to make him fight the fight HE wanted to fight. Peyton Manning is not a running QB... Does he get hate for going into games and not running?

The object a pro boxing match is to win...whether its by hitting the other guy more than he hits you or by knocking him into next week. The object of life is to get hit in the head as little as possible. Floyd accomplishes all of that. Makes him a boring fighter but a great boxer. Just the way it is and has always been.

...and I don't even like Floyd.

fight was everything i expected. casual fans came in jumping on the wagon watching the fight cause they couldn't be the only ones not watching it

this was a boxing technician who has great defense and counter punches who controlled the fight. manny the brawler punches in bunches was completely whipped physically and mentally

i enjoyed the fight very much. there's a time and a place for everything. standing in the middle of the ring letting someone who has average footwork t off on your right in the face for the sake of making random people "happy" while your undefeated legacy fight is on the line would NOT be the right time or place to do that shit.

beat his ass easily..like the judges had it and then tell everyone who told you that you would lose and that you're scared of him to eat their words while making sure you let them know you made 100 million dollars while crushing their dreams and much more to come.

If Peyton NEVER went deep then yeah he would get so much hate.

The fight went as expected, a 12 rounder for Floyd. Floyd would do just enough to get his UD without much controversy in the decision, but not very exciting either. I'm just glad I didn't pay a cent to see it, esp with those hiked up prices.

watching Mayweather expose all of Pacqiao's weaknesses in rds 2 n 3 had me laughing...

poor foot work, no lateral movement, inability to close distance, poor defense...

I swear Roger started yelling out "easy work"...

Mayweather Sr. was really pissed off because he wanted Floyd to work Pac like he did Gatti, but instead he kept safe and gave Pac respect.

To Pac's credit, he is a very smart fighter... anybody else would have gotten knocked out tonight.

EXACTLY! How is it Floyd's fault if Pac couldn't touch him? Floyd had a better plan and executed it while Pax came in with a flawed plan and couldn't make the adjustments needed.

why you mad tho? the sport is called, "boxing," and mayweather showed you what he brings 47x already.

yet, you STILL paid for it and STILL call it, "boring."

mayweather is mayweather... a technically superior DEFENSIVE BOXER.

if you wanna be mad, be mad at manny for NOT being able to land anything clean to slow mayweather down.

You're projecting. Having a negative opinion doesn't make me "mad."

And I didn't pay for that bullshit, either.

the fight where Tyson was getting his ass beat so bad he bit off Holyfield's ear in the 3rd round?

The one where Holyfield headbutted continuously and it was never called.

Regardless, the point was that it was entertaining. You're yet another who fails tho understand a distinction between entertaining and worthiness/skillfulness/etc.

and don't people keep paying for Mayweather fights?

He's had some very high grossing fights but the aren't consistently approached with the same enthusiasm.

Every Tyson fight was an event until he was totally washed up.

Dudes just no nothing about boxing.

Early Ali used to make a living off of dancing around the ring and not getting hit.

Ninjas today would be calling his fights boring.

I was telling some fools that on facebook earlier, that they must have never seen Ali fight before he went to prison, he used his legs way more than Floyd ever did.

As a boxer you get paid to show up and give the other guy an opportunity to hurt you, beat you, or knock you out. If the other guy is unable to do that its on him.

I thought the goal in boxing was to hit and not be hit. So that being said one guy accomplished his goal the other didn't.

I Agree,
Boxers "Stick and Move!"
Brawlers "Stick and Stay" with the chance of receiving a devastating counter punch.

Yup!

...make no mistake about it, it was Floyd's defense that won the fight rather handily for him, Pacman averages over 70+ punches/rd from round 1 to round 12, last night he was barely scraping 30, less than HALF his usual output, Floyd put on a defensive clinic for the world to see.
I am not a Floyd fan, but these numbers do not lie. Floyd made Pac look old and slow. Or maybe it was all those tests for steroids Pac had to take.

Let's be clear, Floyd did NOT kick Pacquiao's ass, neither fighter was ever hurt, but Floyd's defensive mastery made clear that no rematch is necessary.
Pac & Freddie Roach made zero adjustments to their original fight plan,
and when he did manage to let loose with punches on Floyd, they had little effect. How did they ezpect to win by throwing and landing fewer punches than Floyd?

Floyd is one of the greatest EVER, if not the greatest period.
Great fighters don't dodge & cherry pick their opponents. Great fighters fight all top ranked challengers.

And to say that Floyd's fight's are boring does NOT take away from how great he is, defense IS boring all across the board in EVERY sport, a 10-7 defensive game between the Steelers & Ravens will always be considered "boring" compared to a 52-48 game between the Cowboys & Eagles, that's just the way it is!

Well said!!

ok - so who hasn't Floyd fought?

To my knowledge, he has defeated every contender in his different weight classes

great fighters fight who is thereand beat them.

Pac fought many of the same fighters Floyd did and fought them after Floyd beat them.

Larry Holmes was also a victim of the times when there weren't many great heavyweights

But don't get it twsited with the exception of Frazier Norton and Foreman who did Ali fight some bums and washed up fighters

You fight who is there and who you can make money fighting....

Shit Floyd had to leave Top Rank to get a shot at DeLaHoya

So for all you cats proclaiming Tyson as being great , who the hell did he fight ?

Sure Mike was a devastating puncher but who were his great opponents ?

Mike Spinks who was an undersized light heavyweight

Evander Holyfield was a blown up cruiserweight and he bust Tyson ass in both fights

Buster Douglas ? a fukkn journeyman

Mitch Green ?

y'all talking bout who Floyd fought but there was sure better competition in the welterweight division.

Razor Ruddick

Who did Tyson fight that will be in the Hall of Fame ?

Trevor Berbick?

Tyson walked into the ring over and over against mofokrs that were afraid of him.

So he was exciting because he knocked out cats that had no business in the ring.

Those dudes sucked because they sucked and Mike fought in a weak ass heavyweight era

He fought two cats that wasn't afraid of him and he lost to both of them.

His greatest battle wasn't even against a heavyweight.

point is Mike fought who was there and mostly dominated

Floyd fought who was there and he is 48-0

And before each fight cats talking shit about how he will get that work and then after the fight cats acting like bitches making excuses.

Now all of a sudden Manny is old even though he two years younger.
