Syfy is ending Helix.
The cable network has canceled the sci-fi bio-thriller after two seasons. The series starred Billy Campbell as the leader of a team of researchers from the CDC trying to contain the outbreak of a virus.
While the show, produced by Battlestar Galactica’s Ronald D. Moore and Sony TV, had an impressive first-season run, its viewership dropped significantly during season 2, with an average of 560,000 viewers and a .2 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
