THE JOKER in Suicide Squad [Jared Leto]

I can't find the damn look. But this is definitely Jim Lee inspired. I can't even remember the damn run. But it was a Grant Morrion, Jim Lee team up where it was Batman and Young Dick Grayson as Robin. They painted a room yellow and was drinking lemonade to face down Green Lantern.

And dick did a knife hand strike to GL's throat and almost killed him.

find that. i want to read it.

I like Joker when he is wearing a nice suit and hair done always looking dapper even though dressed like a clown

The Joker won’t have tattoos in Suicide Squad?

When this picture of Jared Leto in his full Joker look hit the web yesterday, there was A LOT of fan backlash for how "Hot-topicy" it all looked.

But rest at ease Joker fans, it has since been revealed that this is NOT the final look for the joker. This was merely a publicity shot to celebrate 75 years of the Joker's character in the comics.

Gabriel Gray (No, not Sylar), an industry insider, had this interesting tweet to share that might perhaps calm the angry Joker fans:

:dunno::dunno::dunno::dunno::dunno:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>So Ben Affleck on the set of <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/SuicideSquad?src=hash">#SuicideSquad</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/BatmanvSuperman?src=hash">#BatmanvSuperman</a> <a href="http://t.co/FgjMTH6fpx">pic.twitter.com/FgjMTH6fpx</a></p>&mdash; Lindsay (@Steele131) <a href="https://twitter.com/Steele131/status/593133073102819328">April 28, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

I don't get this?

Should everyone be playing Jack Nicholson's take on the Joker?

Is there only one take on the Joker in the entire history of the character?

This is some lazy ass shit. Not directed at you, just the stupid thought that the characters should only be portrayed in one way.

Jared Leto commits to his character. You're given a script, or you speak with the director what their vision is for the character and how it relates to the world created for the film.

From there, the actor is free to flesh the character out on their own, to personalize the character to suit their abilities and their liking....

this is how the shit works.

The Joker as Jack Nicholson portrayed him is really Jack Nicholson. Any one who's watched any of his films sees this. It's aspects of Jack Nicholson amplified. And he really didn't venture too far out...

Heath Ledger really experimented with the character, and came up with his character within the context of the Dark Knight world that Nolan created.

Therefore the makeup instead of bleached skin worked, the tactics and style worked.

They're going in a different direction now, and this joker appears to have more of a psychotic bent. We've had the gangster Joker, the anarchist Joker, and now we'll get to see him as an unhinged psychopath I believe.

Would you seek to imitate someone's portrayal of a character or come up with your own?

Would you do something your way, or someone else's?

We don't like change. We personalize things and make them OURS. And we base our feelings and views of the shape of the world on those things and when someone messes with it. We get angry. I find myself doing this at times. And then i have to catch myself and say.... wait and see.

they said the Joker wont have all the tattoos in the movie..that was just a publicity photo to celebrate the anniversary of the graphic novel"The Killing Joke"

Yep.

And you wonder why the world doesn't change?

Think about the mentality you have towards something simple as a movie portrayal of a comic book character. Think how frivolous that is, and you don't want it to change because you're afraid it's not gonna be like the good ole days.

Now thing about if you're a part of the population who actually has REAL PRIVILEGE...would you want to give that up?

It comes from the same place, psychologically.

If the Joker doesn't have tattoos they are either running from backlash or dumb as fuck. People are waiting for a first image of him and you do a What If pic. If they did that shit with Affleck in the Keaton suit people would have burned shit down. :smh:

It's too much going on.

It's not Jared Leto, it's the look. I'm upset at how the 'HA HA's don't make it original like. I mean ya'll going for something different, but for some unknown reason that just pissed me off.

But it's not real. Cowards. I don't know if Leto is going to be a good Joker. I'll watch and see. But if this photo culminate the type of decisions that were made in the movie...my faith is not strong with this one. I'm already not convinced on DoJ.

I completely agree.

Any real long time comic book fan KNOWS that these characters are iconic BECAUSE they change all the time it is the journey the challenges the defeats the victories the loss...

damn how many variations of the Spiderman and Batman uniforms have been done over their respective runs?

Some worked...some didn't.

Matter of fact if these films/TV shows DON"T change up they will immediately fail.

Don't get wrong the Spider man red and blue, Superman insignia, Green Lantern mask are iconic and that is why no matter what happens we go back to that but I'm fine if the joker has green hair red hair yellow hair.

Just make it an honest portrayal an interesting take true to the spirit of the Joker.

The Kingpin depicted in the Daredevil Netflix series is not the Kingpin I grew up loving...but damn it in THAT world in THAT context it works perfectly.
