GOOD AFTERNOON,
LOOKING TO GET A HOME SECURITY CAMERA SET UP AND I HAVE BEEN ONLINE LOOKING AT DIFFERENT BRANDS AND REVIEWS BUT WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM SOMEONE WHO'S ACTUALLY USING ONE. I WAS PLANNING ON GETTING THIS ONE FOR THE NIGHT VISION AND HARD DRIVE SIZE....
ANY FEEDBACK AND A GOOD RECOMMENDATION WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
THANKS

The price looks pretty good, but I'm having a hard time finding too many good reviews for the Nightowl brand.

I also think that's an exclusive package for BJ's. Can't find the exact item number to match it, but here's one that's close.

I think it's the same DVR with 8 different cameras for $646.75

Btw, if you need an additional indoor camera, I recommend this Zmodo.
It has pan and tilt, no zoom. A nice clear image, day or night.

Not bad for 82 bucks with free shipping.

What's the best came to get for your front door that is wireless? Looking to install a wireless came for the front door to avoid getting a peep hole.

For the price, it's a good deal! Mine is similar, although I paid about $250.00 more. That got me 720VL and a 2TB DVR and 10 cameras. Other than that, we probably have the same features.Google: Samsung SDS-P5102 16 Channel DVR Security System

10-16 cameras for your residential home??
I use 8 out of the 10 cameras that came with the set. My house is large (with a large front yard area, large backyard area and garage); therefore, the need for at least 8 cameras to cover my entire crib. BTW, I purchased the cameras from Costco.

wireless = hackable.

what else are they going to be able to hack and do? my internet network right now is already wireless...so it can already be hacked into...don't see an added difference...hip me to it man

That shit is like skittles to rottweilers man.

mine got into a bag of M&Ms when it was a puppy.....ate a full 1/2 pound bag.
i thought about rushin it to the vet.....but after about 4 hours....nothing happened....so i was like
well shit....my nigga aight. then about another hour passed....and that mufucka
was on the ground squirming and break dancin.....had to rush his ass to the vet to get his stomach pumped..
:lol::lol:

Still using my D-Link....one above my garage,one looking at my front door.

Wireless,can monitor from my cell or any computer.

u want the new PPoE style.

much easier to install.
only use cat5e cables. for video, and power to each cam.

much easier to wire up.
and better resolution.

You typed ppoe the cameras are poe.... power over Ethernet, and its not a new style. Make sure you can use other manufacturers' cameras and or make sure that manufacturer has a wide variety of cameras at reasonable prices. Such as ptz, outdoor, vandal proof, etc. Me personally I like the ability to shop around and not be locked into one manufacturer.

LOL!!!! I like that!

But let's just say:
When I'm away, I don't want the cats trying to play!
When I'm home, I don't want the cats trying to roam!
:lol::lol:

but he do got a point tho,

16 cameras, fuck u holdin? the hope diamond..

you got mexicans in yo basement??

youse running a muthafukin......ho house!!

and gotta keep an eye on dem hoes huh???

Good Buddy,

Read the specs! The system has a capacity for 16 cameras and comes with 10. I'm using only 8! And yes, by the way, my PIMP hand is strong! :lol::dance::lol:

Here are the basics. IP cameras and their DVRs (sometimes called NVRs) are superior technology. They only require 1 cable, an ethernet cable which is cheap and provides power as well. The IP cameras are digital cameras. They are much higher resolution. a 3mp IP camera is basically better than any Analog camera period. Analog cameras measure resolution in TV lines, sometimes called TVL. This is old outdated obsolete shit. As soon as you see TV lines, u know its not official. DO NOT BUY IT!!

The OPs link to BJs is an example of old tech that I wold advise against. If u must buy old tech, buy analog cameras, with a hybrid DVR so u can hook up both old analog and IP cameras to it. This way you are able to buy a new IP camera as cash permits and dont have to change your setup. However, U reall should just buy the new shit. Samsung has a package at costco, Lorex makes them, Swann has them too. I dont like swann or night owl i think there shit is cheap. but that samsung i saw in costco looked pretty nice for a home appliation.

Think of it like this, would you bu an SD tv or an HD tv? Thats LITERALLY the difference in picture quality we're talking about.

A DVR and a NVR are 2 different things. IP cameras are used with NVRs, analog cameras are used with DVRs.
