Suspended LaRon Landry's latest photo won't help his reputation

There have been a few LaRon Landry photos through the years in which you stop, stare and also have questions about how he got as big as he did.

Landry, the former Indianapolis Colts safety known for his massive physique, was suspended four games during last season for a performance-enhancing drugs. Then he was suspended 10 games in March, again for a PED violation.

And while he is an NFL free agent, suspended for a couple failed PED tests, Landry retweeted this photo that he was included in:
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Thankful for the chance to get some work in at the gym with <a href="https://twitter.com/MrLandry30">@MrLandry30</a> <a href="http://t.co/rk78nVVAgE">pic.twitter.com/rk78nVVAgE</a></p>&mdash; Jován L. Swann (@_jswann) <a href="https://twitter.com/_jswann/status/583729684451467264">April 2, 2015</a></blockquote>
<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
I can't post the responses to this tweet because they're not all family friendly, but go ahead and read them if you want to take in a few comments on how Landry got that big.

I suppose Landry can't put away the guns to take photos, but this one probably isn't going to dispel the reputation he has.<iframe style="display: none;" allowtransparency="true" scrolling="no" id="rufous-sandbox" frameborder="0"></iframe>

I'm not mad at any of these guys who take steroids to stay in the game. Too much hypocrisy going around.

Steroid abuse doesn't actually help, key word being abuse. Excessive use actually increases other injuries to joints and ligaments...and Landry is typically on an injury report.

He was never popped but I always felt that was Bob Sanders' problem...

Right. And that's the problem. Whenever you hear steroids it's always conflated as steroid abuse. So in most people's minds using steroids = abuse.

I feel these leagues need to stop the negative spin on steroids and really explain why it's useful. Why? Because fans want to see the franchise players on the field, court etc. If the fans are paying to see the star players of their team they shouldn't be judging the players for giving the fans the opportunity and helping the team franchise make money and notoriety.

I think if the league had better control of steroids and removed some of the stigma they could reduce the level of abuse and help balance steroid use.

But yes just like with anything else steroid abuse is not the biz at all.

That's my problem as well, the general public seems to believe that steroids are some black market shit and shame everyone that gets caught just cuz they're told to by the media. But a lot of these steroids are supplements you can buy at GNC or any store that sells supplements, but they're just banned from certain sport organizations. I really don't get caught up in the public shaming of the shit nowadays, even if an athlete isn't using PEDs, they're likely using a supplement that simply isn't banned (yet).

But as for Landry, it is definitely looking like abuse, and it's not gonna end well when you excessively use roids (much like anything else really).

Indeed. Thats the hypocrisy Im talking.

A lot of the supplements on the banned list are things you can buy in the store that the genral public uses but we shame the players for using the same thing. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Shouldn't it look worst for you to be that big and get kicked off a team? If dude was a linebacker he might still be playing.

I wonder how big dudes arms are...pause

It's crazy how much bigger his arms are than the rest of his body

alzado was on roids, but he was also on that HUMAN-DERIVED version of HGH.

nowadays, HGH has a (hard-to-get) synthetic version and a (very $$$) bio-identical version... both much cleaner (and safer) than extracting it from the pituitary of cadavers.

Dude. Pick a sport. Mr. Olympia or football

:lol::lol::lol:

the mr. olympia has a big-time weed-out factor called, "leg development." a LOT of guys can win local and state competitions without legs, but you can't/won't win a national level show without legs.

and leg development is about 70% genetics and 30% EXTREME pain and agony. not many guys have the genetics, and even with the genetics, not many guys can tolerate the "burn" to REALLY develop their legs.

that's why the leg equipment at most gyms has dust on it... the shit hurts.

landry does arms damn near every day... that's all he does. i'd bet $5 to your $0.25 that his arms are prolly bigger than his legs now.

there's another clown in that gym called, "big man." dude does a prison style arm workout... doesn't do ANYTHING else: curls, curls, curls, curls... triceps triceps, curls, curls, curls.

mofo arms bout 24" but that's it... he doesn't even TRY to work out anything else. :smh::lol:he'll brag about his arms and how he's "hardcore," but if you mention legs, back, shoulders, etc. he changes the subject.

this IS NOT CORRECT.

the steroids these dudes are on cannot be bought at any health food store, they dont sell ANY steroids in health food stores. that place would be shut down with the quickness.

but you are correct in that 83 substances on the NFL banned list are used medically to treat everything from a head cold to anxiety.

either you have to have a freaking prescription for Sudafed or you're getting fined and suspended.

MC Twist was on the same label as me. When Luke showed me his album cover, dude was diesel as shit! I finally met him, dude looked like a top heavy muscle bound popsicle stick. Fam had Tony Atlas' torso and a concentration camp bottom.

Putting a steroid pill in a cupcake doesn't make it legal.

I drafted this dude during his rookie season in arizona and watch his transformation. He was BEAST but it seemed as if dem roids took a toll on his body. He was always often injured in the seasons that followed....and he looked like a TE or wrestler instead of traditional WR. I thought that the Cards had a super soldier formula for WRs after Boldin beasted out too when DB left. :smh:
