Raylin left her alone, Bo killed all Boyd's followers leaving him alone and confused. Ava took him in. Her loneliness and his vulnerability meshed.

Wynn Duffy always seemed to be playing hard but knew when to talk his way out of a dead end
Loretta was always a smart kid wise beyond her years. Her coming back made sense and she did it with flair
Art Mullen, i didn't put together the Art/Older Raylan similarities until this season, but when i think back the signs were there - always willing to bend or break a law
Boyd Crowder a Wile E. Coyote is another recent discovery. He is a frequent and crafty planner, but for all his planning he ha incredibly little to show for it.
Ava was broken in prison, but had she not killled ol' boy sh never would have went to jail - part of my 'women don't often think things all the way through' theory. Now, she is just trying to save her ass, an because she is so good at thinking things through she will get caught.
Mike - Wynn Duffy's not-so-smart muscle wised up. It's never good to show people that you will sell anyone out to save your ass,because they will eventually come around to the thought that you could sell them out,too - so they pop you.
The show is great,so are the characters - just more 3D than you are used to
Plus none of the six seasons Have ever been straight forward. Villains come and go, shit happens that make the seasons go in completely different directions.
Season One: Boyd is a bank robber with rednecks, by the end of the season Bo crowder and Miami Mob are the villains and Boyd is the leader of his own Church.
Every season has that point. Makes for very unpredictable TV

that diner scene was tense as as hell I kept telling the dude just GIVE HIM THE DAMN HAT, but what WAS great about it, it was one of the few times I actually put MYSELF in that situation...the LOUIE comparison is PERFECT.

Nah Its double edge for me, I didnt like the fact they made Mikey so easily persuaded by words both times. But I did like the fact that even though he knew Wynn was a rat, he still was loyal to the end and wouldn't let Kat kill him.
The hold me part, is a joke to break the tension of one of the most insane scenes in justified history, proves even a bad ass doesn't want to die alone.

The thing I dislike is that Rachel runs the Lexington Bureau and she gets fucked by Raylan - Art ran it for years and Raylan did far worse and but Art might get reprimanded. No matter what its still Kentucky -

I just got finished watching it. Fucking loved it. Gat-damn. I had to rewind the Mikey part (and count the bullets - 6 shots - didn't think they'd pull an I'm gonna git U sucka). Damn, shame when you die you just don't want to be alone. Mikey knew it was over and wanted to be held - no homo - in an "it's alright, man. I got you."

You probably haven't served, or served war-time. These dudes were soldiers, analogous to what we were in the military. Same as an E-4 would drive around an E-9 or an officer, Mikey drove for Wynn Duffy.
Crazy thing happens in war time. Situations might arise to make it so that you hate the man's guts next to you...but hes still your boy. Mikey sold Duffy out, but still had reservations about it. That's why he had the music up, to drown out the thoughts in his own head about whether he'd done the right thing. Katherine's talk of loyalty to your partner swung the needle to a point where he wasn't going to let some outsider kill his partner.
The relationship between a man and his battle buddy is twisted in many ways. Incestuous? Nah, but close. I've seen folks that you'd swear were full on racists change into brothers in the trenches like Bertier and Julius Campbell in Remember the Titans.
On board my ship (before I got there) there were two engineers who hated each others' guts. Couldn't work together. Fire broke out in the engine room leaving the Black guy stuck and the White dude was first on the hose and dragged the Black dude out coughing and hacking - they were thick as thieves since. They still shot the dozens - but wouldn't let anybody else talk about the other.
Something about war time, man. Not gay...just...a real close hetero bond.
