does this 70's funk group have rights to the album/son (publishing etc..) or does the company itself will only get paid or does this group actually own or have rights to their songs?

i say this cause George Clinton i dont think he gets a cut from people that sample his ow old shit that the record company own cause he sold his publishing or some shit like that. i think he sued though..
