They didn't cut him, they traded him for Kiko Alonso. McCoy was due to make $11+ mil this season if he stayed in PHL. Matthew's contract is rich with incentives but his base is $3mil and Murray reportedly is getting $9 mill plus he's bringing the Cowboy playbook with him. I didn't like the trade because I felt they could have got more for Shady. The signing of Mathews and Murray helps soften the blow.
