{~~~Guns, Guns and Mo' Guns - The Right To Keep And Bear Arms~~~}

Aye, will you post a review of the PX4 Storm when you get it & shoot it ?

Compared to like other guns in that same category like the xd or glock equivalent.
They say da XDM is comparable but if I get it then I should go w/da .45 or as they called it "god's caliber".

Yea, I watched a Hickok45 vid comparing the glock 30 & xDm 3.8 .45 side by side.

I think the xDm is gonna be my 3rd or 4th purchase after a G23, G30, S&W 686+, then maybe an automatic shotgun (VEPR or Saiga), a couple mo different AK's, & a AR pistol.

What's a good AK or AR to get???

What's a good AK or AR to get???
Honestly, that depends on how much money you wanna spend.

AK'S:
all are reliable, rugged, it's just that some have small defects from bad quality control like canted sights, or magazine wobble.
Yugo's are good - M70 abt & M70 abt2
Polish AK's are good out of box
Norinco (north China arms co.) Has great attention to detail and very well made
Arsenal AK's are top of the line, it's an American company that builds them from Bulgarian parts kits. $1k & up
Saiga's are also good (many say they use cheap parts), they're built in the same Russian factory as the originals years ago, just with newer technology. These have gone up in price due to import restrictions with Russia, Obama signed some shit and now they're no longer imported, basically. They're $700-900 unconverted, $1g-1300 converted. (They come in a "sporter" configuration with non traditional ak furniture and the trigger group further back. Converting is just installing a pistol grip w/ stock, moving trigger group forward, and maybe changing handguards)

AR'S:
Honestly, iunno much. Just don't get a bushmaster.
I'm still looking myself and I see that with brands I can get 1 already kinda tricked out for not much more than one would cost bare bone new.
I'm particular about not supporting racists, their agenda, or their companies so I won't fuck with anything by Palmetto State Armory because of their "Nobama" lowers they put out a few years ago.
I really like Daniel Defense, so that'll probably be my first AR rifle, and Spikes builds a good AR pistol.

The conversions are a lot more involved than the above. Not that the conversion is very difficult, you will just need to ascertain if your skill level is enough to do the conversion correctly. I have fixed at least 5 Saiga's in all calibers that were Bubba'd......

Yea, I just found out 2 days ago that you also have to do something to a bullet guide.

 @ Bubba'd

2 Gunshows in Metro ATL this weekend

Atlanta & Marietta

FYI, gunshows are expensive as fuck. I've found that gun prices are cheaper when you find a private sell like on www.theoutdoorstrader.com
Same with ammo, but ammo at gunshows ain't that bad as far as prices, you might save a few bucks or you might spend a few bucks more.

I'll thank you now....

THANKS! :shades:

Real quick, 12ga, does it make sense to practice with anything other than game loads(birdshot)?

^This is a good question. I'd say you can't go wrong practicing with a couple of mags of the rounds you intend to use for PD/HD. If only to make sure my PD/HD weapon functions flawlessly when cycling and firing. With that said, I almost never run anything other than cheap low brass loads at the range. I'll use slugs from time to time, but imho I don't see the benefit shooting them at paper targets.

I was just about to say this. Every gun show I go to here the prices are higher than the local shops I go to. I either always go to Arrowhead Pawn down on Tara Blvd or Adventure Outdoors out there in Smyrna and their guns are always cheaper, brand new. At adventure outdoors if you spend enough they'll even mount your night sights for you.

Anybody try any of them RIP rounds??? Supposedly it's a really nasty round. Buddy at da gun store yesterday told me that if you shoot anybody w/'em then they gon' sue da shit out you in civil court tho'. Didn't say why. Any articles I've read only bases that liability on da name. :dunno:

This Century Arms C39 AK-47 Pistol got my mouth waterin'. I need that hoe

That's why you shoot to kill. Dead men tell no tales, nor do the come to court.

I'm looking to get into .22lr, what's a good rifle platform to look at?

It's gon be mainly for plinking

Shit i got 4 handguns and a shotgun.... I jus need a AR-15 and then my collection will be complete. Then I'looked jus stockpile ammo.

The 10/22 is a good entry level .22lr.
It is inexpensive, but also reliable, durable, and versatile.
A fun way to spend an afternoon plinking.

Palmetto's normal price for this rifle is $199, so if you can find one in stock for the $169 price, then grab it. If you are the type of person who likes to price compare, until you get the best price, then check out SlickGuns. Their search feature checks the prices from most of the online sellers. (here is the link to search for the various Ruger 10/22)
http://www.slickguns.com/search/apachesolr_search/Ruger 10/22?op=

But there is one thing to keep in mind, if you are going to get into shooting .22lr.
There has been a shortage of .22lr ammo for the past few years (it can be hard to find, locally), and most retailers are using this shortage as a reason to vastly overcharge.
IMO, .22lr ammo should cost about $1.25 per box of 50 rounds (which is what it was selling for up until a few years ago). And, currently, a decent price for 22lr is between $2.25-$2.50 per box of 50 (but you will have to hunt for that price). Unfortunately, when they have it in stock, most retailers are selling .22lr for $5 (or a little more) per box of 50.

However, in all fairness, even at the $5+/ per box price, .22lr ammo is still only 1/4 the price of .38spl/.380, and 1/3-1/2 the price of the cheapest 9mm.
