Two NYPD officers 'assassinated' while sitting in patrol car in Brooklyn by gunman who boasted on Instagram about 'revenge' killing cops

Ismaaiyl Brinsley fired at NYPD officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu in their squad car in Bedford-Stuyvesant sources said. Hours earlier, Brinsley shot his girlfriend in Baltimore and boasted in social media about wanting to kill cops. Both officers later died at Woodhull Hospital.

Two NYPD cops were executed Saturday after a gang member from Baltimore trekked to Brooklyn to kill police officers in a twisted bid to avenge the deaths of Eric Garner and Michael Brown, sources told the Daily News.

The shooter — identified as Ismaaiyl Brinsley— boasted about wanting to murder cops in the hours before he ambushed the officers outside the Tompkins Houses in Bedford-Stuyvesant around 2:45 p.m.

“I’m Putting Wings On Pigs Today. They Take 1 Of Ours...Let’s Take 2 of Theirs,” Brinsley, 28, wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of a silver handgun.

He also included the sick hashtags: #ShootThePolice #RIPErivGarner #RIPMike Brown.

“This May Be My Final Post...I’m Putting Pigs In A Blanket.”

Brinsley made good on his sinister promise, firing several rounds into the patrol car parked near Myrtle and Tompkins Aves., cops and witnesses said.

Officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu were in the area for an anti-terrorism drill, sources said.“The perp came out of the houses, walked up behind the car and lit them up,” a high-ranking police official told The News.

"They were quite simply assassinated," said NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton.

Brinsley then sprinted around the corner to the Myrtle-Willoughby Aves. G train subway station, with cops in close pursuit.

Brinsley, after disappearing inside the station, shot himself in the head on a subway platform, police said.

Paramedics brought Brinsley out on a stretcher and were performing CPR. But the killer, a reputed member of the gang "Black Guerilla Family," was later pronounced dead.

It was bound to happen, you push people to the point, they are going to share some pain with you. The prosecutors should have stopped playing games with the prosecution of these cops killing citizens (using non-credible witnesses, shoddy investigation work), otherwise these officers would be alive today. The blue wall of protection should not be extended to these cockroaches who costs the citizens money, just so they can enact their racists fantasy that could be going towards education, roads, pay raises for police officers, or other infrastructure that the city needs. Instead it is being paid out as settlements.

Doesn't look like a revolutionary act to me. The shooter here shot and seriously injured an ex-girlfriend, a Hispanic officer and an Asian officer. - - fellow people of color. :smh:

But, beyond that, the shooter doesn't even pretend to assert even a shred of evidence that any of the people he has wounded and/or killed has any malice whatsoever towards would-be Mike Browns or Eric Garners or me or you.

What this guy represents to ME, more than anything else, is why we need to get and keep guns out of the hands of criminals, fools, lunatics, etc., et al.

Sometimes you may have to express yourself through acts of violence. Peaceful MLK marching of Jews against Hitler would have been certain death. Apartheid or removing a corrupt leader.

However, responding in this manner is not appropriate. Flying airplanes into buildings because we are infidels and you don't want foreign troops in your region because you have PTSD from another occupation, I dont know.

We need to let people know up front, any organized or collective attempt to commit acts of genocide (through mass incarceration or killings) will result in violent, lethal response. Even if it means certain death for you.

True, an angry young man, criminal, fool, lunatic, etc., et al.

It seems this society is/has produced/producing a lot of them for some reason many do not want to acknowledge.

Unfortunately all cops are viewed as a problem to many "minorities," from the actions of a few "bad" cops.

Unfortunately most cops view most Black folk as a problem from the actions of a few.

Yes, guns are definitely a major problem, but Eric Gardner was not killed by a gun in the hands of cops.

The issue is fundamental, racism in America.

Rather than the so called "good cops" and honorable district attorneys and prosecutors involved in police brutality cases and specifically the latest high profile cases, speaking up, loudly and unequivocally and breaking the so called "Blue Wall Of Silence," they chose to defended and dismiss these issues.

Rather than white folks and those on the right/conservatives taking these issues seriously, they chose to dehumanize the victims and dismiss the corruption in the so called law enforcement community.

Yes, retaliation is absolutely wrong. However, this whole so called "War On Terrorism" seems to based on pure retaliation and vindictiveness as well the criminal justice system seems to be.

So I guess we are all acting out in accordance to what our national culture teaches us to do.

I am not anti cop, in fact I want the hammer brought down on, so to speak, on those in our (Black) communities that prey on those that are trying to make things better and those that are just trying honestly to survive from day-to-day.

However, I do acknowledge that those of us that have been marginalized and dismissed have patience too and their patience has been long, since this shit has been happening for a long time and a lot more than the media has made known.

From Fred Hampton, Jr and before, to Rodney King and now.

Some folks have run out of patience!

And this, unfortunately will manifest itself in actions that we now see.

man this dude a coward..

what he did was shot his ex girl..

he knew his life was over..
so he drove to NY and tried to clear his name...

but damn just think what went on in his mind during that long ass drive..
he HAD to be crazy... he shot his girl.

just wait until she recovers, we will hear how crazy he was, and why she left his ass in the first place.
