7th Heaven Dad Axed from Ted 2 Following Molestation Accusations
7th Heaven actor Stephen Collins has been dropped from the cast of Ted 2 in the wake of yesterday’s leaked audio tape that features Collins admitting that he molested and exposed himself to a number of children (allegations that the police are now investigating). According to EW, Collins had a small role in the film, from which he was immediately terminated after Universal pictures and Seth MacFarlane learned of the allegations. When asked recently about the character he was playing, Collins tweeted on Saturday: “I’d tell you but @SethMacFarlane would have to kill me."
Meanwhile, at least two networks that air 7th Heaven reruns have decided to drop them from their schedule, with both TV Guide and UP TV pulling scheduled reruns.
“As a top family-friendly network, we are deeply concerned for the families that are potentially affected by these disturbing allegations surrounding actor Stephen Collins,” said Charley Humbard, president and CEO of UP TV. “7th Heaven has been a beloved family show and a fan-favorite on our network. We have made the decision to remove the series from our schedule effective at 5 p.m. ET today. We will continue to monitor the situation and listen carefully to our viewers. Replacing 7th Heaven tonight will be Supernanny, a series dedicated to bringing families together.” Thank God for Supernanny.

Even though it appears that he admitted to molesting and exposing himself to kids on three separate occasions in a leaked therapy session with his estranged wife Faye Grant, TMZ now reports that the neither the LAPD nor the NYPD will prosecute him because they are hampered by statute of limitations. Neither police department has made any official statements and they are still investigating the matter. Grant also alleges that Collins molested another child while shooting 7th Heaven from 1996 to 2007, but the victim has not stepped forward as of yet.

For the first time since an explosive sexual-misconduct scandal broke in October, actor Stephen Collins is talking directly about the incidents, and the events that led to the story being leaked to the press.
In an exclusive interview with Yahoo Global News Anchor Katie Couric, Collins insists he has had only one inappropriate incident involving physical contact with a minor and that he is not a pedophile.
He also described an encounter with one girl in 1973, saying he knew he had done something “unthinkably wrong” that he couldn't take back.
“I took her hand and moved it in such a way that she was touching me inappropriately,” Collins told Couric.
The “7th Heaven” star also confessed to exposing himself to a teenage girl in 1982 and another in 1994.
In October, TMZ published a 2012 audio recording of Collins admitting the encounters during a marriage-counseling session with his wife, Faye Grant. Collins says Grant recorded the session without his or the therapist’s consent.
“I kind of went into shock. And she said here’s our settlement. You’re going to sign it now, or this recording is going to find its way into the media.” Grant has denied leaking the recording and issued a statement to ABC News saying, “I sincerely hope that Stephen gets the help he needs.” The couple's divorce proceedings have been moved to next year.
“I did these things because, for whatever reasons — and I tried very hard in the last 20 years to understand. I did them. I'm not saying, you know, this woman did this, and therefore I did it.”
Collins said he’s been in treatment for 20 years and has felt remorse for his victims. He personally apologized to one of them but has been advised against reaching out to the others. “You don’t know what kind of old wounds you might open up,” he said.

When she mentioned the incident to a neighbor, they explained the interaction away by saying he had just been filming in France. Price accepted the explanation, and when a few days later she needed help setting up an Atari game console in her aunt's home, she invited Collins in to help her.
