*** aLL THiNGs BaTTLe RaP *** Official Thread (everything battle rap related)

I'm starting to think battle rap really ain't that profitable.

'Profit' is all relative to how much 'overhead' you pay out of pocket.

This ain't a battle rap audience. :smh:

And FilmOn ain't known for ANY battle rap events. :smh:

This is the FIRST Battle Rap PPV they have ever done, so who knows how 'profitable' this one is. :dunno:

I don't know HOW Bizzare thought Conceited won. :dunno:

Conceited was "a Bigg K 1st round mic malfunction" away from the worst body bag of his career.

Point is, I don't think any of these leagues are making significant profits.

Why you think the corporations have been so slow to really dig in?

Them niggas ain't adding up.

Not saying no profit is being made, but enough to say battle rap is a 'hot play'? Nah.

First of all, to have a huge turnout, you will have to get big names. Big names want big bread. There is the venue. All the other technical people.

Shit adds up quickly.

Corporations want 'complete control' or to be the middleman who gets paid the MOST.... and there's NO ROOM for them in the current (URL/KOTD) format.

So corporations either have to pay to broadcast it on TV and collect the ad revenue dollars (like BET does with UFF).... or pay for a very large venue / arena and keep the 'ticket' sales. (which ain't happening.)

Smack & 'em already went down that road with Webster Hall / Ticketmaster about 2 years ago, when they tried to rob his ticket sales at the door. (Since URL did not comply... they got the cops to shut down their NOME event at the last minute.)

Corporations need 'dumb people' to 'rape over'... but these promoters like Beasley, Smack & Organik are much too savvy for them.
