Boxing Heads: It's GGG time tonight!!!!

Damn dude felt that power and just said fuck it. Robert Garcia's fighters taking some loses lately.

GGG calling out everybody:yes:

For those who missed a fantastic fight like I told them in the Mayweather/Steven A. thread.

Last two rounds

GGG might get that Sergio Martinez fight. Cotto vs Canelo is the fight for HBO next year. Maybe GGG gets the winner.

Martinez is done. Word in boxing gyms is that he was hurt a lot worse than what we saw.

His back and knees are shot. He has one fight left on his contract that he has to fulfill so look for it to be against a beatable opponent (if he fights at all.)

The fuck happened to Nonito. Not even the same cat anymore

Damn shame about Sergio. I thought he just came back from knee surgery. Hope he stacked his bread

Great night of fighting, had a feeling Donaire wasn't going to win tonight but he fought a hell of a fight.

GGG had a decent win against a solid opponent but he needs better opposition and there are plenty of lvce 154 pounders out there for him to fight.

Can't fight Dudes who won't get into the ring with you, Dude fights like 3 times a year and none of the 'stars' want to deal with him... Cotto's in the process of hauling ass right now... :smh:

They'all fight him eventually. Cotto knows he's at the end so he's looking for one last big fight and Canelo is that fight. GGG would be a big fight for him but not like Canelo with the Mexican vs Puerto Rican angle.

If Canelo wins I could see him fighting GGG. I don't think Cotton will but we'll see.

Dude, in those vids, he's asked direct question on fighters he can fight.

Asked about Andre Ward: "Noooaahh! Andre Ward is too much for me. Not now."

Asked about Erislandy Lara*: "Able, his trainer, takes the mic from GGG, and says "the risk is not worth the reward." (but, we get GGG vs. Rubio )

Asked about Danny Jacobs: "Who wants to see that?

Asked about Peter Quillan, Andy Lee and a few others who are on record campaigning for the fight, "There's no money there." (but, we still get GGG vs. Rubio)

* = GGG's manager on Lara:

"It's well known that Gennady Golovkin - when he fights in the United States - is under exclusive contract with HBO. Lara is with Golden Boy and fights on Showtime. So while he is a great fighter for whom we have a tremendous amount of respect, the bottom line is that HBO is our biggest strategic partner and it's up to his promoter to get him accepted by HBO.

"The strange thing is that his name really never came up. His insistence took us by surprise. It's not that Gennady doesn't want to fight him - he'll fight anyone and continues to prove that. But we were looking at fighters who we know can and will fight on HBO."

When everyone in the boxing world knew at the time that Golden Boy was moving back to HBO when he made this statement. That's the main reason behind the Richard Schaefer fiasco. Al Haymon knows how to get buckets of money. Not only that, Showtime was getting the same, and in some instances, better numbers than HBO with 1/3 the number of HBO's subscribers. HBO gave GB one hell of a gravy deal to get GB fighters. You haven't noticed they've been on a drought with fights until last night (two and a half months)?

Mike Tyson didn't get exposed. He just expected Douglas to fall over like all his other opponents (we all did) and he didn't prepare. Even though a lot of people hate him (Larry Merchant), his adage is true, "If you don't take your opponent seriously, he becomes a serious opponent." Tyson was in Tokyo fucking bitches, drinking, staying up all night and getting dropped in sparring by Greg Page.

One KO loss, even to a journeyman, doesn't equal exposed. Based on your criteria, Joe Louis got exposed by Max Schmeling. If Tyson had a bunch of losses after his first loss, then I would be in agreement. He's a Hall of Famer, he's just not an All-Time Great. There's a difference.

Examples of a fighter being exposed: Victor Ortiz, Jaidon Codrington, Ricky Hatton, and Jeff Lacy

1. Who gives a shit about Lara? Yeah, I like the guy, and I like his trainer, Ronnie Shields, but so what. They are right, there is really no reward for beating him. Canelo already did it, and Angulo was pretty close to doing it before his eye got all fucked up. So what if GGG beats him? What does he gain from it that he wouldn't gain from simply fighting Canelo?

2. Showtime got better numbers because they bought HBO's fighters. They didn't develop their own fighters, they just bought HBO's fighters after HBO had already developed them into marquee attractions. To this day, Showtime has yet to develop their own fighter from a prospect to a star. They simply don't have the marketing talent to do so, not to mention that they don't have Jim Lampley, who has a LOT to do with such things. That's why Golden Boy wants to move back to HBO, because HBO actually knows how to lay down the infrastructure to keep making boxing stars..... It's all about business CONTINUITY.

3. Whether or not Tyson got exposed is actually kind of a gray area. Technically, he DID get exposed as having not been the same, mentally, after losing his trainer, and that stuff does, indeed, count. However, it's hard to compare that to other great fighters because they did not suffer the same setback. Very few fighters lose their trainers in the midst of their prime. You can say that Klitschko lost Emmanuel Steward, but Klitschko was already very well established as champion by that point, and he was actually past his prime, even though he still hasn't lost. It's a tough call, really.

...aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand it's done. That shit felt fixed.

This is why I think Garcia is an overrated trainer. All his fighters just come straight forward and don't move their head enough.

He only really trains Maidana and his brother, Mikey. Coincidentally they are the only two that move their head. The other fighters just get him a week before the fight.

Just catching up and watching the fight.

Same here. He gets hit too much.

"Noooaahh! Andre Ward is too much for me. Not today!"

I agree with you Alex Ward or a real boxer will give GGG that work.

Glad to see other people who see what I see.

He's not "Iron White Tyson", he's a White Nonito Donaire: he's killing lesser comp but will be in trouble when he fights a pure fighter. I noticed in the Stevens fight that he had streaks where Stevens was outboxing him and no one thinks of him as an elite guy.

I'm also tired of his name being brought up to fight Mayweather. He's a full blown middleweight, he better be able to beat the barely over a welterweight Floyd.
I see people saying he's says he would come down to make the fight, then do it. Fuck Floyd, there's more big money fights at 158 than 160 so why not move down anyway? We know why: he can't. He's fighting as small as he can and maintaining his power advantage.
GGG is in real trouble when he moves up and fights Ward.

Been watching him since he came in the pros. Amazing how much knock out power is coming from his hands on a small frame like his.

Why would he go up and fight Ward, that makes no sense seeing as he's not a big middleweight to begin with. Now if Ward (who I believe is the best fighter in the world pfp) were offering to come down or to a catch weight and Dude said this then it would be a story. They are right, at 168 Ward would be too much for him so what's the story there?

As far as Lara and those Dudes, GGG been fighting 3 times a year and is already 32 so I don't blame him for not wanting to take a step back to fight Dudes who are economically lower than him 9n the totem pole. He's not a 21 yo fighter trying to get a name, he's a 32 year killer with maybe 3 more good fights in him, why waste your time on some bullshit...
