if they do this right, it's 9 seasons easy.

the story arcs are limitless. this is everyone's origin story and this is going to be exciting if they give this show the proper chance to develop into what it will become.
it's going to take 4 seasons just to set the stories straight if done correctly
by the end Gordon and Dent will have made their way and Bruce will be on track to become what he will become. All the other villains sans Ivy are older, so they'll have their seats in the criminal world.
The series finale could be him becoming batman. and ending with all of the people we watched over the years running their various rackets.
if they only give it a real chance to work...
if they do this right, it's 9 seasons easy.

It's the fact that it's no where near canonical to the source material, and in this day and age it's not linked to any of the other DC properties or films that's coming out. Lets not act like a bar hasn't been set since 2008.

Exactly. I'm not doubting the writing or action will be bad atall. Could be top notch. I'm just not personally investing in any more stand alone/some director's interpretation of already established characters and storylines from DC.

I'm on the fence. It was good enough for me to watch Episode 3. I think people are stuck in the whole "Its Batman origins" storyline. You have to let it stand on its own. I think the shows downfall will be people who can't get the Batman movies or comics out of their head.
The show should be called "Gordon". Its about him and Bullock essentially. I like where its going. It would be nice if we're introduced to more Gotham characters.

And the guy who plays Gordon is a great actor, he's proven to me he can handle all of this from his time on Southland.

I couldn't tell. Initially I thought it was like the 50's or some shit.....I mean why is a rich couple walking down the street like that? Its really hard to tell. But I guess the cell phones made it atleast the 90's but I assumed it was current day with the phones. The set looks really outdated like its the 50's or 60's.

I wonder if Jack Handy got paid for the joke they used. As for the character, the way he was acting seeing that brutality, I think he'll eventually become desensitized and become the model sociopath we and know and love him to be. As for the show, it ain't the greatest, but I'll give it a shot.

Well we're stuck trying to pick an era that fits what we do. Their shit is completely different. So things will look the same (like the cars and shit like that) BUT everything is different so I doubt we'll get references to stuff that happened on "our timeline" just theirs.

if you have seen the 21min preview the writers already said there is no specific era, they want a NY 70's kinda feel when the city was going wild with all the police corruption but still modern hence the cell phones and such, but the idea wasn't to just copy NY but to give Gotham it's own feel and look which is why the changes to some of the sky-line and landmarks were made.

The great thing I like about DC Comics is that they aren't afraid to write non-established or altered stories about their top characters. Some of my favorite Batman comics are the Elseworlds series. So basically if you can't open your mind to something DIFFERENTLY interpreted about Batman you won't like it? So why did you like those last Batman films so much? I can give you a list about all the shit they fucked up that was already established in the comics. Just saying...

I agree Selina posing and hopping around was lame and there is some cheesy stuff around the edges other than that the acting was solid,im digging all of the personal connections of the characters and Jada is sexy.
