I visited NYC for 1st time....

^^
Yup, that's where he went to find his wife.

And yes, LIC/Astoria for authentic Middle Eastern/S.S./European I'm not gonna even tell you whats wrong with that one/ Asian food w/o Manhattan prices/traffic LOL! The GC and Van are the prototypes for every traffic jam in the world., Flushing for Citifield Nobody is going to Shea Stadium for baseball. Stop it. and beautiful women from South America/Asia Soon, that's all that will be there., culture...ALL over Queens...if you have kids, Hall of Science, Flushing Meadow Park As I said before, Tennis fans will go, but that's it. for all things w/o the homos of Central Park in the mix.

Shit, the biggest and the baddest are from there (financially):
Bernie Maddoff Currently sporting a number and Russell Simmons Currently worth $325 million. Jay-Z currently worth $520 Million. Louis Armstrong brought property there.

Culturally, Queens is starting to become like BK and Manhattan Maybe in the future, but nowhere near it yet....yuppie Midwesterns w/NO SOUL. Remember, 5 Pointz USED to be there as of last year. I was mad upset when they shut that down.

Ahh and the views:
queensboro-bridge-manhattan-woody-allen.jpeg
Can't compare to the sheer numbers of people who wanna look at the city line from the Brooklyn Bridge vantage point.
FlushingMeadowsCoronaPark_V2_460x285.jpg
Like I said, tennis enthusiasts only. They can get a churro anywhere.

:(

Queens is years away from being comparable to any borough except S.I. Tourists don't give a shit about Queens, Staten Island or the Bronx (outside of Yankee Stadium) when they visit. They wanna see Manhattan and Brooklyn.

That mom and pop spots be hard to find though like he said, I go to a comic store by Trader Joes over there in Queens exit 6 on Jackie Rob and all the ones that used to be in BK are pretty much gone accept by Sheepshead Bay.

If you thought Harlem was a problem, you should have hit up Brooklyn. You would have lost your mind.

I'm not shitting on Queens. I'm just talking like I talk to dudes from Queens in real life.

You lying hard, phili cats stay coming to NYC and phili females DEF be trooping it here.

I'm always amazed at non NYers trying to tell us what our city ain't yet we get more tourism from around the world than anyone. You could sit on corner of Spring St and Broadway and NOT even see a NYer in that see of people walking up and down all day long...EVERYDAY.

I said Spring and Broadway, below Houston, just one little corner kills all y'all cities in tourism alone. Stand on 34th and 6th ave and you don't know what to do with yourself seeing the mix of tourist and NY females from all over shopping.

But I'll let y'all tell it while we live it. :D:D

Philly, South Jersey, Delaware broads...as soon as they hear the accent :itsawrap:

Pretty much the same thing for every other place in the world. I'm a dude that has touched a few continents. As soon as I say hello:yes:

Next time you come take forty five mins to check out the

African Burial Ground museum... its downtown not to far from battery park

and the waterfront with views of the so called official version of the statue of liberty... most educated new yorkers know the real one was of an african woman breaking chains, but thats another story..

the burial ground is like a very informative and interesting small art deco museum... with a twenty min movie inclued all free, they dont even ask for donations..

and its proof we were the first ones on manhattan island even before the dutch came, they had an african trader there with the last name of Rodriquez...

its was cool, I was pressed for time so I couldnt see the last ten min of the flick..

will take my girl next time she comes..

there were only like four chicks there, and only one was mixed..

we really should support it more, so much fight went into having our antcestors

bones respected and honored...

I love mom and pop stores. It's sad how rare they are nowadays.

But tourists are coming from places where those types of businesses still exist. They're not traveling to NYC to see what they have at home.

I hope your statement remains half-right: I NEVER heard of people wanting to visit BK back in the day. Now, a decade plus after gentrification ... "Oh, let's go to Knickerbocker & Flushing Ave." --I heard white girls saying this at a bar...fucking Bushwick nowadays...Queens may very well follow suit. Ever heard of Bohemian Hall & Beer Garden???Tourist spot already and counting...

I do the same those those from other boroughs and city/states.

You can't be serious. EVERY TIME I have a friend/family from another state come here, they want to know authentic NYC foods from different countries (funny as that sounds). They are SHOCKED/DISAPPOINTED when they see the AVE's have the same BS corporate stores they see in their shitty cities/malls.

No, they come hjere to see the Italians making their pizza, Puerto Ricans making arroz con gandules, Ecuadorans making ceviche, etc.

You don't exactly get that in Manhattan Gotta go to SI for best pizza (mobsters used to run it), Bensonhurst---soon to be Asia; Astoria for Greek food, etc. You can't be serious.

Anyone with two eyes and a working brain knows that tourists want the "bigger than life experience" while in NYC. Two words: Times Square. But next you'll tell us that Court Square is the new hottest spot for New Year's Eve celebration.

No, they come here to see the Italians making their pizza, Puerto Ricans making arroz con gandules, Ecuadorans making ceviche, etc. When has Queens EVER been synonymous with Puerto Ricans and Italians? In comparison to BK, Manhattan and the BX? Never.

I am serious. I'm serious enough to know that these things you speak of can't just exist just because you WANT them to. I get it. You a die-hard Queens dude. But…….

bulletproof comics on flatbush is a staple in brooklyn brah. two locations in brooklyn actually. the other on flatlands..

NYC is the center of the Universe.

Been to most major cities worldwide and not a damn one of them moves as fast as NYC. Lots have neighborhoods, waterfronts, gentrification, blah blah blah. but nowhere is anybody as fast and street smart as in NYC. Everywhere they try that slick shit as soon as they hear my accent they back off and head for that chump from Colorado. or Atlanta.

Surprised no one from the Queens area mentioned the famous Colleseum block

You got that right...and I've been living in harlem nearly a decade (pizza and s.american, and asian food sucks here). And I was talking about NYC as a whole when talking of different cultures and food and way of life--not just QB

Heights/Inwood is cool. Lived there for a year. Only place I ever heard merengue music in a McDonald's back in the day. But please don;t act like Dyckman looking like every other major NYC ave whereas 5-7 years ago there were more mom and pop shops there. Now, they all have Starbucks, Planet Fitness, etc...I'll be shocked if there isn't an applebee's there in 3 years time.

See, the old-timers told me 6 years ago about 125th st. They (mostly foreign investors) want to turn it into Times Square (can't tell you how many friends are surprised to see it's almost the same shit they have in their major city..only bigger). The wheel has been in motion since clinton bought his offices on 7th ave. These are 10/20-year projects.

harlem still has block parties, but overall, that shit's been dying a slow death since the '90s...especially the member's clubs--minorities used to have that on smash in EVERY borough (you know, like the ones they used to have in el barrio---bloomberg's mandatory licenses and taxes put an end to that)

Surprised no one from the Queens area mentioned the famous Colleseum block

Yo I am from Queens and remember taking the Q56 there for exclusive DJ S&S tapes then clue CD's etc...but coliseum has always been a glorified flea market indoors..matter of fact I was there last week and the food court is one of the sadder sight I have ever seen

Brooklyn??????

Man Brooklyn dudes lost their borough to a bunch of white boy hipsters from Ohio. So while a bunch of white boy transplants wearing skinny shorts and scraggly beards are taking over Franklin Ave the Black people that made BK interesting are getting stopped and frisked.

Queens, the center of the universe. The white people here know their place and the cops leave you alone.

Used to have a membership by first one at Junction back in early 90s, Hank wasn't trying to cut no deals though after years of patronage so I had to boogie up out of there but you right, they still around.

Ahem...

...

Money Making Manhattan is the center of the universe..L.E.S.!

*dips out the thread*

The only person that would argue with you about that is a nigga from BK. I may have said it in this thread already, but it's a scientific FACT that upon meeting you a person from BK will find a way to tell you they're from Brooklyn within the first 5 mins of conversation.

I love BK, I was just out there today actually (on Fulton.) While driving back to the highway I passed Marcy and 2 or 3 blocks away they're building a new "luxury" building. Brooklyn is about to be the new "Westchester" in a decade or 2
