If you're going to protest, how about bringing some protective gear or make some protective gear and breathing apparatus.

Bring some ear protection.

Have an exit strategy. (Tired of hearing "my car is over there")

Simple things you can do to be better prepared since you know they will be gassing/pelleting and following pretty much the same procedures every night. This ain't the military, it's the police dressed up like the military.

This is what, the fourth night??? I know its just a protest, but bob and weave through planning...

mods need to purge these agents

there should be zero tolerance in here for the bullshit

So, everyone should give same response, opinions?

Im used to the protest during the civil rights era, when people understood how to protest Folks just doing shit for the vine, doing things with no purpose, no plan behind the protest, both sides lack leadership,

What would be effective protest?

fuck you dude you already showed your very likely alabaster hand

the j's comment was all i needed

fuck you agent

Absolutely. Define what your concept of "effective" is tho? And provide a few examples.

Hmm...

I personally believe that protesting non-violently (without boycotts) can be effective for only so long but I'll give it a try:

First thing I might think of is to protest during the day at City hall or some place where the cops would be more concerned about shooting tear gas all over the place (and come equipped with some breathing apparatus, and gear just in case they do).

If you do it somewhere where their is high white pedestrian traffic and around high-value property, it might possibly limit the Police's arsenal options.

I'm not familiar with the area, so I'm only bringing these ideas up in an uninformed attempt. But the way I see it, protesting at night by that QT (where everyone who basically lives in the area is black) is basically open-duck season because the police don't care about the property or the ninjas in and around it.

However, add some high value property into the mix, and some high white pedestrian traffic (which is why daytime would be best), and you could come in mass and affect the business that would normally go on if you didn't.

The white pedestrian traffic would be a great bonus because they would be vulnerable to the arsenal, while we would be equipped (as much as possible). Which makes it briefly more complicated for the cop leadership.

It would also help (provided we had a large enough number of participants) if there were other similar locations that could be used to protest at during the same time. That would help to divide the cops leadership and resources. Maybe not by much, but there could be a possibility for an advantage in there somewhere.

Just speculating...

[Disclaimer: Any use of the above strategy would be at one's own risk and I'm not to be held accountable for any damages or loss of life :) ]

Dang took me a lil' minute to type that last post only to find out that protesters had gone to do their thing at the police station.

You started off expressing skepticism over the effectiveness of peaceful protest but then just advocated for peaceful protest but in a higher rent district.

Fwiw, i dont disagree with your premise tho.

:dunno:

Always talking about "peaceful manner" through the bullhorn.

But the police are not peaceful to young Black males walking around minding their business.

These white officers can't wait to get their John Wayne on.

To see these bitch asses in full Call of Duty gear is sickening.

Fuck this shit.
