The irony of this whole injustice being carried out is that I have been a canary in the coal mine, so to speak, for a long time and people on here either ignored me or called me an e-militant. The truth is that I live in the real world and see things like this all the time.

From the brother who just recently got shot in my area for having a toy gun in a toy gun isle of a store to the young brother who got beat to death, raped and robbed by two cac dope fiends. We have had incidents of skinheads attacking and robbing black women with children and young black males, but I'm militant because of my views.

You can dismiss me as what ever you want but you will one day have to deal with these cac's. What you see going on right now needs to be going on in more cities. Believe me when I tell you that these young black men will defend themselves at some point and it's just a matter of time. You can't keep treating people like this and think that they will hold hands and march. No. They are after all young men and will demand to be treated as such.

Those of you bringing up black on black crime, that's exactly what they want you to focus on. Notice how the focus was on the looting and not the shit that lead up to the rioting and looting. This has nothing to do with the fact that police continue to murder black people. Focus on that.

Its not about that. I have my employer, coworkers, friends that can see my timeline. We have a not insignificant number in mgmt that are conservative, some are gay, some are white and not everyone can grasp the nuances of being black in
America. They can't wrap their minds around the concept that being pro-black does not automatically equate to being anti-white or anti-American. I save myself the headache of being labled or undermined due to political agendas or racial bias.

I used to be concerned about those things until I had to confront a Lieutenant in my chain of command about wearing a t-shirt to a company family day that read on the front "Lincoln was wrong" and on the back "The south shall rise again". This was back during my time in the Army.

I was just starting to wake up to the realities of the world at that time. I confronted him and my entire chain of command about his shirt while we were at that family day. He blew me off and the chain of command did the same. I then took it upon myself to write an open letter to the post newspaper addressing what he did and why I felt he was wrong in doing so.

Keep in mind I was stationed in central Texas at that time and it was around the time of the O.J. trials. Needles to say things didn't go to smoothly after that while I was in that unit but I had to do something. I simply had to. He wore that shirt in front of not only my family but other black soldiers families and that was an insult of the highest degree.

I got called into the Battalion commanders office and he attempted to chew me out about the article but I simply reminded him that I had brought it to his attention first. I learned something from that episode. I learned that being able to look my family in the eye meant more to me than my career. I learned to stand on my principles.

I'm sure not everyone would have done what I did and I understand the reasons why. Especially because of the flack I caught afterwards, but I'm built like that.

I guess,a 17 year old kid getting executed by the police is less important than a person doing jokes and making movies....
