~*~2014 NBA OffSeason Thread - Free Agency Starts - 7/1 12am ~*~

The Heat brought back everyone Heat fans said they should've got rid of. I'm in tears.

Rockets always getting rid of players and trying to bring them back. Y'all wouldn't be int his position if y'all would've just kept Dragic or Lowry. Fuck it why not? Y'all already brought back Ariza. #TEAMBRINGBACKOUROLDPLAYERS

So you have chosen your team to troll this year I see

Yeah let's just keep everybody......

Have the deepest team in the west......

Go 5 deep at every position.......

Have 1st string, 2nd string, 3rd string, a team that travels like the Harlem Globetrotters, then the international team to play outside of the US

:hmm:

The Miami Heat signed free-agent forward Josh McRoberts and point guard Mario Chalmers on Monday.

Both deals were agreed to previously, but they were not signed until the Heat had more pieces of their salary-cap puzzle put into place. McRoberts signed a four-year deal that will pay him $5.3 million next season. Chalmers got a two-year deal that will have him earning about $4 million next season.

Ummm no shit

LeBron James’ return could mean $500 million boon to Cleveland dlvr.it/6Kc7bH

Damn.... And Gilbert's Casino is right by the Q. He also has another $80 million of land he bought on the river. He's really going to cash in....It's not even about team profit with him. It's getting people downtown.

Exactly...that's why dude was so but hurt in 2010, his money makers kinda took a hit.
Downtown Cleveland wasn't booming anymore.

This also the reason he has his nose in the Detroit Pistons business.
He's pushing for the Pistons to leave Auburn Hills and relocate to downtown Detroit.

I like this lil dude, but man Lebron didn't do you anything. Dude liked your game and that's it, did he push Riley to draft you, doubt it, but his comments about liking your game did....

Napier, Riley and Bosh are the reason I'm planning to light weight pull for the Heat...

Napier needs to focus on other things, not old tweets

Nigga needs to be thanking LeBron for helping him escape the second round and a non guaranteed contract.
Aint that a bitch. Bron the only reason his midget D-league ass has a job and guaranteed check the next few years.

Shabazz will be aight

Embid unfollowed Bron too
Embiid is a character on twitter. A funny one at that. He also doesn't owe his draft slot to Bron.

Clown needs to be working on his shitty game. Muhfuckas shooting like 2 for 56 in summer league. Napier a chump for this shit.

Stan Van Gundy fires back at Cavaliers owner after he says Pistons should remove ‘Detroit’ from their name
Brett Pollakoff May 24, 2014, 3:30 PM EDT

San Van Gundy
Unless you’re a Pistons fan, the best part of having Stan Van Gundy back in the league as the team’s president of basketball operations and head coach is the unabashed way in which he gives his opinions.
Van Gundy fired back at Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert, who said in a recent interview that the Pistons should remove “Detroit” from their name because the team actually plays its home games in Auburn Hills.
“Detroit doesn’t have an NBA team, because they’re somewhere 30 miles north of here, right? They’re in Auburn Hills, right?” Gilbert said on “Mojo In The Morning” on 95.5 FM, via 6abc.com (and HoopsHype).

This aggression will not stand, man.
“Dan Gilbert has some selfish interests for saying what he said,” Van Gundy said on 105.1 FM in Detroit. “I think we know what those are. Finally I think he has enough to worry about with his own team than worrying about us.”

Van Gundy’s remarks about “selfish interests” may have to do with Gilbert having invested millions in downtown Detroit. Gilbert also has spoken to Pistons owner Tom Gores “four or five times at the owners meetings,” where he’s brought up the topic about a downtown move, according to The Detroit News. …

“Tom Gores has been involved in the city of Detroit, not just the surrounding area,” Van Gundy said. “There are teams all over the place that carry the name of the city but represent an entire area. Where we play isn’t that much relevance.”

The moral of this little back and forth is simple: Van Gundy has returned, so any slights — perceived or otherwise — will not go unnoticed, or be allowed to slip by without a biting response.

Rockets just threw away all the player who can play as a team. Did they not learn from Spurs how they win the championship this year as a TEAM..

:smh:

Sometimes I wonder about you not being a logical fan. Even if the Rockets brought back Parson, Lin, & Asik, they still wouldn't win shit. Lin had 2 disastrous playoffs and Parsons wasn't killing shit. Did you see how Durant & Batum lit up Parsons the past 2 playoffs. Asik didn't want to be here and he can't catch a ball in traffic to save his life. Them dude's weren't taking the Rockets to the promised land. Notice my theme here, it's post season performance. A team is measured by what they do in the playoffs not regular season.

The 3 players they got rid of are replaceable, whether it be this season or next. This isn't the same as when OKC got rid of Harden. Parsons is not gonna be an all star. I'm not trying to shit on Parsons but like I said, he got over paid and the Ariza deal is better. The trade-off is not that drastic between the two. Rockets are bringing in players with a defensive mindset and I can live with that even if it sacrifices some of the offense.

Look, the Rockets didn't have a good off-season since they struck out on signings but I still see them winning 50 games in the West. I'm more concerned about how they respond in the playoffs.

This would be a nice addition to contending teams

Chemistry bruh.....right now HOU is simply replacing contracts that would have expired anyway after this year......and they re getting nothing for these dudes.....now they re screaming "Cap space" with no one to buy....

Yea fuck you Gilbert. You can't control 2 nba franchises downtown areas I hope they move the shit to flint and have him lose all his money there.

I didn't know much about his Detroit ventures until eewwll mention that shit(Gilbert buying up Detroit property). He is really trying to own both these cities. It's no wonder he doesn't want to give up Wiggins. If he pans out, that's 10-15 years of people coming downtown to see him.

His casino in Cleveland is the only thing attracting people to the downtown area. He hopes to shift the focus from the suburbs to the city(people rather go to Crocker Park, Legacy Village, or the Racino than downtown).

I forgot Detroit has the Pistons playing out the way. The Cavs used to do that dumb ass shit. Had to go out to fucking boondocks in Richfield to see the games. I just checked and Auburn Hills is 35 minutes from Detroit. :smh:

Bills, I remember you said Mick wasn't thinking long term. Gilbert definitely seems to be the complete opposite.

Quiet is kept we need to be trying to bring Dragic back to Houston...... If he's available I'd definitely be looking to get him back in the fold.

Dragic escaped the Houston Rocket Penitentiary for Point Guards once before, as did Lowry. Why would he want to go back mchale, who loves marginalize pgs.

The Rockets had the opportunity to wine and dine Kyle Lowery but Kyle said "Fuck That!"

As evident Kyle Lowery resigned with the Raptors.

No point guard is willing to play for Mchale.

Real talk....if Lin has a breakout time in LA....folks are going to seriously label McHale as a PG killer......

The NBA really fucked up the summer league this year.... :smh:
Why in GOD'S NAME would they put Jabari vs Wiggins in the small gym... Wiggins vs Noel in the small gym.... Randle vs Jabari in the small gym... but... then put the NBDL ALLSTARS vs the Pelicans in the Big gym.... :smh:

Report: New Dallas Maverick Chandler Parsons 'offended' Rockets didn't think higher of him

http://www.dallasnews.com/sports/da...fended-rockets-didn-t-think-higher-of-him.ece

"Honestly, I was offended by the whole process," Parsons told Yahoo Sports on Monday. "They publicly said that they were going out looking for a third star when I thought they had one right in front of them. I guess that's just how they viewed me as a player. I don't think I've scratched the surface of where I can be as a player and I think I'm ready for that role.

Again, Rockets were not going to win shit with the lineup constructed with Lin, Parsons and Asik. I've watched 2 full seasons of them dudes play to see that. The regular season is fools gold, look at how them niggas played in the 2 playoffs years :smh:. That "chemistry" you speak of would not get them a title, the couldn't get out of the first round. They had great chance to do it against the Thunder with Westbrook out, and thy should have beaten the Blazers. As much as McHale is to blame, the roster had major flaws/weaknesses.

Morey got some work to do so I understand why he didn't match Parsons and got rid of Lin & Asik. Dwight can opt out in 2 years so Morey has to put a better roster together that will keep dude here. If Bosh was here we wouldn't be having this discussion about getting rid of Lin & Asik. Bosh threw a monkey wrench in the plans so now Morey gotta scramble to make new moves. His moves might not work but don't tell me that matching Parsons for that ridiculous price and keeping Lin/Asik is what they should have done :smh:

Lance needs to gwaun ahead and re-up with the Pacers call it a day. Starting SG spot waiting on a premier team. If he wants to just leave, that's cool but Indy has the right atmosphere for him to thrive in. I don't know if he'd be interested in a shorter term, 'prove it' contract. But he needs to call it an off season, fire his agent and get busy.

Parsons really smelling his own piss right about now. If he was really a 3rd star like he claims to be, he would still be in a Rockets uniform. Oh well, all the best to dude but he needs to realize he ain't an all-star level player and probably never will be.
