~*~2014 NBA OffSeason Thread - Free Agency Starts - 7/1 12am ~*~

the heat might be a fun team to watch now that they're constructed like a real team

A real team with no center, a broke down shooting guard that cant shoot, and a duo of D league caliber undersized point guards? :smh:

a broke down shooter that's going to be an all star next year. hes better than than most sg's still just no where of the old.

still time to get a C and PG

just the duo of wade, deng, and bosh makes them a playoff team in the east. that's three players that have made all star games and two of them in prime.

it aint all bad with deng on the team now. they an a-ight team.

Love the pickup at that price. Im gonna conveniently forget how awful he looked in Cleveland.

Riley is making a comeback.

I'm say this, I'm not on that Riley ain't shit train. Dude hands were tied to a point.
Of course you want Lebron back but to money wise he had a limit (I'm guessing), Deng was one of their prized free agents. Spo and Riley went hard after him. Telling him how with his skill set and their schemes he could have a career year(percent wise).

Chamlers
Wade
Deng
Bosh
McRoberts

Napier
Cole
Granger
Halsem
Hamilton
Ennis

I'll bring back
Oden
Beasley

See about

Billups
Okafor/Hollins

I think there's a nice mix of youth and vets. Probably don't have to pay much taxes and still fight for the east title.

exactly...now they have to face the unknown like most other teams

Never underestimate how much fans can impact a team's performance..they'll do just fine with real fans like

It will be interesting to see. If Beal beats him out for the starting 2G slot then he wont make it as a reserve. He only makes it due to the insanely weak 2g line up in the east, and ONLY if Beal doesn't get that starting slot. Way too many point guards in the east for him to get a reserve slot.

I will bet against him making the all star game this year.

im a heat fan? look at my location bruh. just analyzing the game like everyone else.

im a fan of heat in general though. cant stand cold, Caucasian weather.
Ok. Imma take your word it. My bad.

Shit I don't think Beasley had a fare shot, Spo should've let Beasley develop trust by playing him regularly. Dude could've been a six candidate, if used right.

I'll put dude offensive skill set against any of the top players at his position. Miami didn't handle his situation correctly. He'll get playing time, sit, on injured list then dress but don't play.
That shit drove Lebron crazy, no consistence in the rotations. Beasley should've been highlighted with Lebron like they may do him and Wiggins.
That he couldn't pick up the defense shit, is for the birds. Maybe it should've been dumbed down, for lesser players to play.

That team need a splash, the had it for very cheap and didn't use it.

That Beasley shit pissed me off to the max man, makes no sense to get him and then not use him....

Sup wit the Pistons "real fan"? You guys that NEVER stand by your team sure like to be an authority on whats real.

I hope the Heat can pull off Lance.

I was just fucking w/ you for calling 3 players a duo :cool:

You may be right.

Its clear that Beasley was never Spo's type of player.

I agree with you that he should have been given minutes regardless. We didnt play defense all year, how much worse could it have been?

You need to give your starters a rest after they been to 3 straight finals.

Just based on that alone, Beasley should have been out there.

The problem is that Granger didn't leave it on the court. He was always talking shot OFF THE COURT. That's the difference between Lance and Granger.

Doesn't matter whether YOU buy or not. Lebron said so himself that he didn't like Miller being cut because he was a vet who was clutch and that's why he's recruiting him for the Cavs.

I like Mike Miller and he did have a few games where he went off. But I am glad players are not GM's because Miller probably had more DNP then games played:lol:

I see Bosh having a MVP caliber year. 24 and 11 season coming from Bosh. Shits gonna be wild if the Cavs and Heat meet in the playoffs.

I think the Cavs championship goals all depends on how fast Wiggins develops. Don't know why LeBron didn't include him in his letter. If Wiggins becomes the side kick that people think he will be, he'll extend LeBron's career.

Let's really looking farther into this Beasley situation...

Say you would've played dude to the point where you felt great about his playing situation.

Say Lebron leaves, your replacement is already in place...
Beasley would sign back with Miami they're the only fuckers to fuck with him, just like Birdman.

So you would have something like this...the same situation but with you confession
instilled in Beasley. Plus there's no market for him, so the price tags would've been cheaply.

Chambers
Wade
Beasley
Bosh
????

Now maybe you couldve got a Gasol...because you sign Beasley for only $2million.
Head to head it probably a push between Deng and Beasley right now.. Maybe I'm to much of a Beasley fan, but dude have skills, Miami was the perfect situation for him to get grounded and he did. You just have to feed off the positive energy and situation.

Nope laughin at you same 4-5 dudes with your lame dry jokes.

I still want eewwll "real fan" to do a detailed post about his Pistons the way he goes at length about the Cavs and Heat. Bet he lives in Cavs threads this season.
Who you riding with this season? Cavs, Heat, or wack ass Hornets (who keep signing UNC trash)?

Well it's now sure if he'll be there...If they want Love bad as it seems he's gone. It's don't matter to me but Lebron would be great for the young mans career and brand...

No way to recover from losing LeBron James. But the South Florida community will really like Luol Deng.

Jason Lieser @PBPjasonlieser about 8 minutes ago
Deng was 16p, 5.7r, 2.9a last yr, in line w/ career stats. A top defender. One of the few in the NBA who does a reasonable job on LeBron.

Joseph Goodman @JoeGoodmanJr about 14 minutes ago
Projected Heat starting lineup next season: Chalmers, Wade, Deng, McRoberts, Bosh

Jason Lieser @PBPjasonlieser about 10 minutes ago
Luol Deng was a back-to-back All-Star before some injury issues last season. Also widely thought of as one of the best people in the NBA.

Tom Haberstroh @tomhaberstroh about 8 minutes ago
You don't replace LeBron -- best bargain in the game. But Heat in much better position than Cavs were in post-Decision 1.0.

Sean Highkin @highkin about 8 minutes ago
You could do a whole lot worse than Luol Deng as a consolation prize for losing LeBron. Obviously not in the same universe. But he'll help.

Jason Lieser @PBPjasonlieser about 6 minutes ago
John Paxson once said of Luol Deng, "He epitomizes everything I hoped for as a person & a basketball player."

Who said that bruh? :hmm:

The Cava can wait the Wolves out. Love ain't going back there. He's holding them hostage right now. Same shit Melo did to Denver.

I think people are too hard on Love. Sure he's never been in the playoffs but he hasn't had much to work with also. Garnett is the only big man who over achievied with his roster. That was largely due to Garnett being able to guard 3 positions. Dunkin, Dirk all had a quality team around them.

The only great thing Riley did was have the cap space available to sign them in 2010.

Otherwise, he was just lucky that out all the three choices (Cleveland, Toronto, and Miami) the PLAYERS decided that Miami was the best choice.

The players not only made that decision, they recruited players like Ray Allen.

Now what else did Riley do once he had those three? At the height of their powers, they were going to come out of the east regardless of the coach and the supporting cast.

But what have they done to IMPROVE THE team. Has Riley worked the international pipeline? Has he drafted well? He has developed any talent. Have they made the extra step of just going further over the cap to keep a team of sufficiently talented role players not to get raped by the Spurs?

No.

If Wade, Lebron, and Bosh could leave 20 million collectively on the table every season to stay together, Riley and Mickey could have spent an extra 20 million per season (over what they already did) to ensure the team was talented enough and had the depth to compete with the western conference.

What did they do, the cut productive players and filled the roster with guy who never contributed (Oden and Beasley) solely because they didn't want to spend the money.

You have a once in a generation player on your team, and you fuck it up because you don't want to spend an extra 20 million? GTFOH. If Mickey wasn't going to spend the money, Riley needed to be doing something else to get productive players on the squad...not guys who were never going to play.

And you know why they didn't spend the money, because they thought Lebron could do all their work for them so why spent the extra effort and money.

And not only did Riley not do his job, he disrespected his player after the Finals' loss and leaked his personal family info to the press. Negro please.. and you're talking about Riley and Mickey didn't fuck up? They did everything they could to not keep this thing going.

The reason Lebron is bouncing because they got raped in the Finals (despite him balling) and Riley and Mickey illustrated they were satisfied with the state of the team. They cut key role players and didn't pick up anyone to replace them.

Yes the players had a dream of playing together. Of course Wade approached Riley and told him that Bosh and Lebron were very interested. Riley then set everything in motion with creating cap space, making trades and structuring all of Miami contracts to expire at the end 2009 season. For this to work Riley had to do alot of behind the scene work. Riley was praised for making it "Possible" for the Wade, Bosh and Lebron to come together. So he should get credit and not be labeled as "Lucky"

What do you mean there were no improvements made? After the first year of losing the finals the Heat upgraded their roster which won back to back titles? The roster upgrades where so good they won 27 games in a row and dominated the NBA.

Miami was always over the cap so I have no idea why people keep saying that we were not.

Let't be real. Stop acting like Mike Miller is some franchise changing player. He is a role player that hardly cracked the rotation while at Miami. He was not even in the rotation for most of his time here.

If 4 finals and two NBA titles is not great then what the fuck are the other GM and Owners doing?

No one is going to win the title every year. The Spurs took a few as beating also. It happens. So why is it so different for Miami. Yall have unrealistic expectations when it comes to Miami but completely ignore how dominate we were over the last 4 years.

If three peating was so easy why more teams have not done it?
