I can't be bias. Look up my previous post about Lebron. They are positive but I can't fall for the "I'm coming home" PR stunt like others have because of the hate/jealousy people harbored towards Miami. This is the same Lebron who went on record saying that he hate Cleveland and only have love for Arkon. I thought Lebron had learned a lesson from the PR nightmare in 2010 but he didn't and the reason it's not made an issue again is because of the hate/jealousy of Miami ànd because Pat Riley ànd the Miami organization chose to be classy and take the high road. I'm sure Lebron and his PR crew were aware of this fact which is why they created the "I'm coming home" stunt. I think the real reason he went back was because he couldn't take the hate anymore, their draft picks over the last years and to give his leeching childhood friends control again in the organization he played for because Pat Riley didn't give them any control or perks and they didn't like it. He kept his former team/teammates in dark and went behind Pat Riley back by secretly meeting with Dan Gilbert the same man who humiliated him in public by releasing a hate filled letter and called him a coward and said kids should never view him as a role model. Pat Riley, Dwyane Wade and team owner Micky Arison embraced him, welcomed him on a team that had it's own superstar/winner..helped to mold him into the player he is today but in the end for self serving reasons he disregarded all of it and showed a lack of respect for them instead of a being man, look them in the face and tell them his true intentions on July 1 instead he chose to string them along. They deserved a fair shot to retool their team but instead of showing mutual respect to the people and organization that played a big role in helping him turned from a laughing stock(to many fans) to a winner he showed arrogance and a lack of gratitude when he ran for the exit door. I think he purposely tried to sabotage them out of fear. If you treat people who helped you along your journey with disrespect after you decide that you don't need them anymore you invite bad karma your life. I hoped he fire his unprofessional childhood friends and hire real professionals because if/when he has another public decision they will create another nightmare for him.

Well written and I definitely agree with most of it. I've said before I believe the whole move to Miami was self serving and to just get the championship he wanted and needed to validate himself. I also believe everyone is being hoodwinked by this Gilbert thing as I believe that was all a ruse too, to set up the feel good return story. Please folk read his coming home letter, he leaves a lot of clues in it to validate what I'm saying.

Before we go off on LeBron though, isn't this whole dynamic self serving? Did they embrace him because he they were good guys or because of what he could bring to the team? Owners and fans shit on players when they no longer are any good to them all the time, and use them when they are? Why wasn't Ariza courted like Melo? It's all a value system game and the same way teams and owners look for the best to make their teams better so can players. Loyalty is so overrated in today's league, and just like teams have a right to shift players so do players.

I'm sure he talked to especially D Wade, didn't owe Riley and Mickey shit, especially after Riley talked that guts shit after the finals. Best believe they made a boat load of money off of LeBron too so, he served his purpose to them and everybody got paid.

To me this isn't about Gilbert and the Cavs as much as it's about 'the game'.

LeBron didn't owe them anything, and they didn't owe him anything. He fulfilled his contractual obligation and used the league mandated process to its fullest. :hmm:

Yall not bringing back DJ?

Shaddy had been quietly taken L's all season. The league was orchestrating them getting Parker, D Rose was gonna beast, the were getting Melo, plus, they still got Big Boozer on the books for now.

Joker running neck and neck with Brownturd with those bad luck bullshit predictions....

No, on to the plea coppin!!

I agree. They rode him like a horse to two championships. If Lebron stopped performing I wonder how long it would take any team in the NBA to try to get rid of him and his contract?

Anyway, anyone know what is the benefit of Melo signing for 120m vs 129m salary cap wise? We already lost Gasol.

Depending on how the space is distributed it allows us to get an additional role player next two seasons.

We will have space for a maximum contract from $18-20M next season. By giving us about $2M more in space, Melo's $20M + Max $20M is $40m. We would have about $11m with cap holds to sign another really good player. Without it we'd be around $7m and as you can see this offseason having space is key.

Man.. that post was some bullshit. Give them time to retool the team? They had time and not only didn't retool the team, they trimmed it. They had some much respect and embraced Lebron? Pat Riley came on TV questioning the muthafucka's manhood and committment (thought he was playing at a massive discount) and then leaked his wife's pregnancy before he could even tell the rest of his family!

Lebron didn't owe Miami shit.

And going back to Cleveland is not about Gilbert. He can't control who the owner is but he wanted to play back at home. I knew how much he loved Ohio by the fact that he goes back there every off-season...he spends the entire summer in Akron by choice..lol

now you add the fact the NBA hooked Cleveland up with 3 #1 picks in 4 years, :itsawrap:

Ultimately he wants to compete for titles and he wasn't going back to a bum ass Cleveland. Stern took care of Lebron before he handed the reigns over completely

I wonder what the odds are getting that many #1 picks in 4 years... shit has to be millions to 1 long shot

This don't make any sense...the bulls are clowns
Two years in a row players balled for your organization, and you choose not to keep them...

As for Chicago...

...the one good thing about blacks being discriminated against for the sake of white players, is that the NBA is a true meritocracy.

If you don't have the thoroughbreds, you will lose the race.

So, let Minnesota, Utah, and Chicago have their mulatto and white boy teams...

...and their combine total of chips will be zero.

I have no idea what the Suns are doing. I thought they were playing small ball.

They have 12 6'3 or shorter players

PJ Tucker, Green and TJ Warren are cool at 3

What about bigs beyond the Morris Twins?

Werd! Clowns had 4 years to retool, they just knew 'we got LeBron' so his skillset covered a lot of holes, including D Wades declining ass! Watch this shit right here though, all these Dudes claiming the Heat should do right by D Wade, give him his money because they owe him, all that loyalty bullshit, will be the same ones bitching in a year or so, when he's even more fucked up on the court than he is now, and his salary is fucking up their cap! Fuck loyalty, get money.

That's why I don't flinch at what Kobe did! The Lakers are valued at what they are BECAUSE of him, so fuck all that pay cut to make them winners! Let the owners go over the cap, and pay the tax and sacrifice! So, Kobe does that shit, they become a more desirable destination and build a dynasty, he retires having taken less money, and the CAC owners will STILL be making money off of what he helped build long after he's gone! Look how fucking long it too to get the statue in front of the Center!?!?!

Fuck that shit, get you money and do you!!

AwwDamn to piggy back off your statement-

Tim Bontemps:
Nets had the chance to re-sign Pierce and passed, according to league sources. Would have cost them upwards of $20 million in luxury taxes. Twitter @TimBontemps

Don't agree with the retooling part just the bullsjit with Gilbert and bron's crew and the access in CLE and lack of it in Miami

I cant believe bitter mofos are still tryna find a way to shit on LBJ for going back to Cleveland, ON BUSINESS. Cavs fans felt the pain as well...you mofos wil get over it soon...I hope!!

btw...I cant believe Deng is taking a 2 year $20 deal from Miami.
Bulls offered him 10mill a year before he left.
So now u gonna take the same offer from a team that aint gonna be a title contender for the next 5-10 years?????

Maybe he figured the Bulls shouldve offered him more, since TOm TIby rode the fuck out of him.

They mustve used the weather and bitches to grab him.
Cant see why else he would want to go there.

Oh wellz!!!
He gave us some good years.
GL to him!!!

Put it like this, if Lebron would have kept winning in Miami, it wouldn't have mattered. If the team was competitive, it wouldn't have mattered. But when the Spurs beat that ass like that, he probably started questioning everything and I'm sure his crew also saw it as an opportunity to make their pitch.

This came down to Riley and Mickey sitting on their hands. I don't think they saw a possible scenario of Lebron leaving because he was at least back in the NBA finals. If Lebron had any doubts, Riley giving contracts to two muthafuckas that Lebron had run-ins with was enough... they fucked this up man.

Lebron probably had flashbacks to Cleveland in game 5 of the finals. He was probably like, I can do this shit at home..I didn't come to Miami for this shit.

It did matter.
He's been counting down for the last 2 years.
He would've left regardless.
Its obvious he had his mind made up for awhile.

Bron ain't have no beef with mcrob but the granger shit def have me pause..

Is Riley that dumb or he did that to make bron's decision easier along with the speech and Mickey amenstying miller.. Hey had to realize wtf they were doing and just didn't give a fuck

If that's what you want to do to convince yourself that Riley and Mickey didn't fuck this up, go right ahead. :smh::lol:

Lebron started thinking about this after yall got stomped by Miami and Riley came out and questioned his manhood. One, the only muthafucka that was worth a damn in the Finals was Lebron and then Riley came out and questioned his commitment? Plus, the squad as constructed was DONE in terms of WINNING a title.. they would have gotten out of the east (possibly) but that was it..and then Riley signed two players that didn't help at all.

It's not obvious he made his mind up two years ago..fuck outta here..

Haven't seen anything, plus Deng wants more than $10

You're right about McRob..no beef just a nasty shot but probably not enough to hold hard feeling...but Granger and Lebron had real issues man. Lebron would have played with Lance in a minute...Lance was just trying to get in Lebron's head but there was a lot of respect between those two. Granger and Lebron had real issues and Granger used to talk greasy about Lebron and the Heat.

That was probably the final straw for Lebron...just a series of things..

cutting Miller
not replacing miller
playing him too many minutes
getting smacked by the spurs
realizing the squad had serious holes to patch
riley questioning his manhood
riley leaking his wife's pregnancy
riley signing one of the few players Lebron has real issues with..

As of last night, Heat & Luol Deng still significantly apart on salary, sources say. Deng's been turning down $10M/year offers for months

If the #Mavs are unable to get Parsons, there will be some angry folks running around American Airlines Center.

Deng could say, if the #Rockets match the offer sheet for Parsons, that means the #Mavs and #Heat will fight over him. #momoneymomoney

Maybe Deng is not a South Beach kind of guy. Maybe he looks at the #Mavs' roster and thinkts it's better than the #Heat's.

Q&A with Alex Kennedy

Shane Henderson
Why hasn’t Portland Trail Blazers been shopping Lamarcus Aldridge? No way he resigns next year, right?

Alex Kennedy
Last summer, LaMarcus Aldridge was disgruntled and wanting out, but it seems like he’s happy now. The fact that the team has a long-term plan for success and was able to make a postseason run seems to have calmed LaMarcus down. At one point toward the end of the season, he was openly talking about inking an extension with Portland and finishing his career there. A lot can obviously change between now and next summer, but for now it seems like the relationship between LaMarcus and the Blazers is pretty good and there’s a shot that he stays.

Whats your gut feeling with Rondo? Do you think teams like Rockets and Mavs will be pressing the Cs to trade him after the dust settles on their Lebron/Melo destinations?
Alex Kennedy
Once LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and Chris Bosh are off the market, I think the attention is going to shift to Kevin Love and Rajon Rondo. The teams that missed out on LeBron, Melo and Bosh will want to acquire those guys to make their splashy move, and it’s possible that both players are moved this offseason. The fact that Boston drafted Marcus Smart and then expressed serious interest in Isaiah Thomas when free agency started, it certainly sounds like Rondo could be available. But yes, to answer your question, I definitely think teams like Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles, etc. will try to pry Rondo out of Boston once the dust settles.

Naw buddy, Cleveland was about that action, you guys weren't.

4 years 32 mil is not over paying for Ariza

It's almost the same deal they offered him in Washington he just declined

Not buying the Grainger storyline. These are grown men and professionals. I can't see Lebron being that sensitive. You compete hard on the court but once the whistle blows to end the game emotions are left on the court.

Don't buy the cutting of Miller. He was always hurt and never played much during the season. Miller was never a key player for Miami
