~*~2014 NBA OffSeason Thread - Free Agency Starts - 7/1 12am ~*~

He wasn't

He just performed his best during the playoffs.

And now it's like a player blowing up during the NCAA tourney. I think Ariza shot like 50% from three in the playoffs.

I can live with Ariza coming to the Rockets even if they're paying a little more than he's worth but not Parsons' numbers. Like you said, Ariza steps up in the playoffs and he's battle tested.
Rockets need him more for his defense if anything because truth be told Parsons is an overrated defender.

So in Chicago is Joakim sliding to the 4? They're gonna start them at the same time? Seems like the THunder would be a far better fit for Pau. I guess it would hurt his stats playing in OKC so if he STILL thinks he can get a payday down the line than I guess Chicago is a better fit.

Gasol will likely play the 4 with Noah, and the 5 with Taj

Gasol and Nikola will give us offense down low

Taj and Noah get rebounds and second chance points

This shit working out all too well for the Cavs right now. Melo staying in NYC and Gasol in Chicago makes the Cavs the front-runners in the east to me.

Melo probably figure no matter where he go in the east he isn't getting past Lebron. Probably made his choice after catching that Wiggins' summer league game. Minus whale get paid....

Shit, if you were Melo, would you bet 50 mil on Rose being healthy?

Bennett is a true wild card. Watched him yesterday. Although he dropped weight, his cardio is still shit. He showed a flash of how well he can handle in the open court and bang down low, but then he threw up some serious bricks(looked like Blatt wanted to kill him). Went to the rack hard a couple of times.

The guy has the potential. If he gets his shit together, he can be a decent stretch 4 on this team. But Lebron and Blatt ain't about to put up with any of his laziness. They will know what they have by the trade deadline(if he ain't dumped for love first).

For the Cavs the question is can he rebound and pick up some garbage points. I know it is crazy to have such low expectations from a number one pick but that is what the Cavs will need from him.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Man I was just gonna say the same shit. They really be trusting Riley man. After yesterday with Lebron, I wouldn't even hold out hope no more for none of them big names like Stephenson.

dude said not 1 not 2 but if we sign all 3

Shit, if you were Melo, would you bet 50 mil on Rose being healthy?

Bingo!!

By far the Bulls is the better destination for Melo to win and contend for a title. Because he could sign a 4 year deal with an opt out clause and resign to recover a large portion of the money he left behind.

As you stated Rose Health is the issue. If Rose's knee are degenerative and he can't play to the same level or stay Healthy, Melo will be in the same position he was in NYC.

His chances may be to put faith in Phil over Roses health

Good. If they refuse to amnesty Perkins and miss out on Gasol, I hope the Grizzlies knock them out in the first round next year...

I'm officially rooting against them niggas next season

I fuck with KD and Westbrook but they will be aight

They didn't sign lifetime contracts

OKC been out that race...it's bulls and spurs...bulls w/ the inside track

Cuz they don't have no cap space cuz of Perkins

they'll amnesty perkins when he's 39 years old

Presti is just an OK gm.

he's too arrogant

Could've still had Harden..there was no need to have it in his contract you can trade him....if you won't trade or amnesty perkins you ain't trading harding.

should've amnestied perkins 4 years ago but especially NOW that adams is clearly better than perkins and 9 years younger and better upside...ALREADY

just dumb ass shit

Man ain't this true, Lebron switched the shit up completely...

Assuming Melo remains with Knicks, the Eastern Conference he returns to is vastly different than it was 48 hours ago.

NBATV showing all the classic games Da King had with Cleveland, watching the one where he dropped 48 on the Pistons. Great to see him back in the right uniform, never seem quite right in that bullshit Heat Jersey!

Jodie Meeks at three years $19 million, or Anthony Morrow at three years $10 million? Looks like the Thunder did well here.

Saw him a few times but seem like Meeks handled the ball more...Morrow catch and shoot, I may be wrong about Meeks

Presti can draft his ass off though. I mean the list of talent he's found or had a hand in is impressive. Only black eye he has IMO is Kendrick Perkins. I can even understand not giving Harden that big ass contract. But the Kendrick Perkins thing makes no sense. Especially you got Adams.

And at this point Ibaka, though a 4 is a better option at the 5 than Perkins is.

Between Perkins and Bulls with Boozer....I don't know if there's a friendship or some loyalty there or what. One thing you can't say about Presti is that he ain't loyal. I guess Jeff Green and Harden might have something to say about that.

Think Morrow is a better fit for OKC, as long as Westbrook is willing to look up from time to time when he penetrates...

Lmaoo @ Chicago foh pooh is your savior..in choppa suits we trust

In other News Cavs franchise doubles and is now worth 1B... Good job Bron :smh: good fuckin job doubling the franchise value of a cock suckin racist prick

Houston is out in the pursuit of Deng, Miami making progress in deal..

If the Heat can get Deng, Gasol and Lance I want the heat in the ecf against the cavs.. So the heat can't get them niggas up out of there lol

Not enough Cap Space to sign all them. You would have to pick between Eric bledsoe and Lance Stephenson

I assume

Bosh 20
Wade 14
Deng 12
McRob 6
Grainger 2
Bledsoe/Lance 14
Cole
Napier
Haslem 2
Ennis 700 thousand
Oden 1.4
Beasley 2
Hamilton 700 thousand

Your pay roll would be about close to 80 million. To pay that much it would be championship or bust

This would be about that time you regret giving Granger and McRoberts 8 million.

But how can they get Bledsoe? He's restricted and they're gonna match him if its a lowball deal.

And if they give Wade 14 million they've lost their fucking mind. There's no market for him. I understand being loyal but to give him ANY contract at this point in his career is loyal.

Just showing my fellow Heat fan that was a pipe dream.

As much as I would love to make that happen. Shit we didnt spend like like that with Bron:lol:

Yea that's a sad state of affairs. I guess at the same time he's truly the only one who doesn't need it either.

Woj is reporting that Melo might have taken $9M less than the max....$120M over five years.

I'm assuming the $9M discount comes next season to give Knicks room for another maximum contract and a role player.

Cool...:dunno:

You know that's a good ass point. If they wouldn't go near the max or even use the mid-level WITH Bron they gonna do it with Bosh as their key piece?

I think realistically y'all go into next year with Bosh, Wade and Deng as your core. Not terrible.

only thing is melo played the fool for so long that there's not much left

Cool...:dunno:

The hell? 120 is a PAY CUT? A 9 million dollar difference in 5 years? That's to do nothing but help them out in regards to the luxury tax. You can't sign no one with that shit. I guess it depends on how much the jump is in the contract. How low can they go in that 1st year? Doesn't it have to be a certain percentage it can jump?

That's probably the only thing he can do well is draft well

But you know what most GMs can't draft

We may have the worst drafting GM in the entire NBA

To not have anyone you have drafted in the first round on the team at all is pathetic

But Presti has that down

I think to a fault almost

He is so confident in his drafting combined with the front office cheapness that they miss out on dudes like Gasol and a young Allstar that they drafted in Harden who they traded away for essentially nothing at this point

Unacceptable

only thing is melo played the fool for so long that there's not much left

You really can't fuck around in free agency because the only ones left standing are the guys who are about to get overpaid.

If i'm a GM i'm signing dudes off the back I know I can get for the low. Especially if the other side of the coin is Trevor Ariza. Fuck that.

dude said not 1 not 2 but if we sign all 3

Eff that sign all 3

Dude about bad as Brownturd with his fucking predictions!!!

Where's the prediction? It's a difference between saying they can and they will which part did you miss?

All I said way they have cap space they "can" sign 1,2,3 not they will sign.. But whatever

Sign somefuckin body... Riley got a chance to somewhat redeem himself
