I went to NC A&T State University in Greensboro. Now i live about an hour away from Raleigh. Traffic is awful like stated in the post however if you're making good money you can afford to move close to your jobsite. I've lived in NC my whole life and Raleigh does have some women. Charlotte is the ultimate city however if you're looking to do it big. Pro teams (Panthers, Bobcats) and the women their dress their ass off.

1) Any apartments near Southpoint Mall in Durham
Southpoint Mall is nice

2) Apartments near the RTP area, off of Hwy 70, Miami blvd, or Alexander dr

Chapel Hill = UNC.
The town and the campus are pretty much the same thing.
Very expensive to actually get a house in Chapel Hill.
There are nearby towns like Hillsborough and Carrboro that are cheaper to live in.

So it's looking very likely that I'll be getting the job and relocating to Raleigh soon. The Triangle area is a nice place to live, work and raise a family.
Lot's of universities and IT jobs in that area.
If you're a fan of college basketball, that area is pure HEAVEN.

i just left Morrisville after like 7 years to be closer to family. I really appreciate that area now that I left.

Morrisville is bit cheaper than Cary, but with all the development that has gone on in the last 2-3 years that won't be true for long.

If you are starting a family, Morrisville is a no brainer. It's diverse, affordable, good schools (including 2 recently built middle and elementary schools). You're 15-20 minutes from downtown Durham or downtown Raleigh. and you're right next door to RTP

As far as traffic unless you work in downtown Raleigh you should be ok.

Another hidden little known fact about Morrisville is that it actually has small group of Black families (along Church street) that lived there for several generations. They had their own church and prince hall masonic lodge.

I came here from Detroit 2 years ago. It really depends on what your looking for. I'm 30, single, make around 60g, no kids, and love beer and white girls from time to time. I like it because the beach is 2 hours away, dc Is 4 hours, Charlotte is 2.5, and the airport can get you around fairly easily. Raleigh is known for all the craft beers it has but I believe most are shit, if rather drink Stella than most of the bs here. In terms of women, it is fine fine fine white girls but good luck picking them up unless you do online dating. I feel it's hard to pick up a cute white girl and not some trash chick out here if you go out with a group of black guys or solo. Either you need to go out with a group of white friends so you seem less threatening, or have co workers or friends set you up or you basically need to play the numbers. If your into either bars or white girls or just chillin hearing good music and having a beverage, hit up the bars on glenwood or Fayetteville. They are your basic mixed bars with no cover, cheap drinks and bad white girls with a few black people scattered. Food is pretty good, weather is great, my black friends and myself have never had a issue with police here . None of us have ever been pulled over. Most people here are transplants. The sportsbar by my house is a Baltimore ravens hub and my other favorite spot is a steelers hub on Sundays and there are other spots in particular for giants, Red Sox, Florida state, Michigan wolverine, patriot, and redskin fans. If your into strip clubs there are three I know about in raleigh. The capital caberet is the big one by the airport that is mixed and 10 dollar cover . It's the generic wannabe Vegas set up.
