~*~2014 NBA OffSeason Thread - Free Agency Starts - 7/1 12am ~*~

That's bs
He's been on record saying he will be here and at a discount.
People just throwing shit out now

It's not bs. If Bosh was willing to take less why isn't he signed right now better yet why hasn't Miami signed anyone.

Things changed. Remember how people said it was bs LeBron wanted the max and now it's know knowledge.

Again something has changed and again I think the biggest fuck up was when Riley talked shit on live tv and Mickey running from the tax

Yeah they shook but we still aint win shit... We are progressing tho and our young boys showed good unity in Summer League this morning.

Well I'm of the belief its not how much you spend its how you spend it. The Heat right now can sign 4 to 5 guys and it won't cost them shit but it would make them much deeper and better than last year. These teams......they not gonna win shit just focusing on one or two free agents like Gasol and Deng.

I wonder what Evan Turner's market looks like.

The San Anonio Spurs sparked fear in them niggas, not this year, but last year. They looking at teams like the Spurs and other YOUNGER teams on the come up..and they know all that 5,6,7, ring bs aint reachable.

Luol Deng meeting with Heat on Saturday
Unrestricted free agent Luol Deng will meet with the Heat on Saturday.
Pat Riley is in Chicago to meet with Deng to discuss a possible deal. He has also received interest from the Clippers and perhaps the Hawks may be the favorite to add him to their roster. If Deng joins the Heat, it will likely be at a cheaper cost and he may even come off the bench.

I would be shocked if he signed with them for less. He actually loved the Bulls and wouldve signed with them if they had offered him more than 10 per year. His goal is a decent contract, not warm beaches and DREAMS of rings.

Heat need to stop the bs and just go over.
Or lose the only GOOD player that they have; LBJ.

@espn_macmahon: I'm told Devin Harris deal reported by @ESPNSteinLine is for similar terms agreed to last summer: 3 years, $9+ million

That's a dumb good deal. These dudes taking pay cuts and shit. Couldn't be me.

Wade is a free agent and no one gives a damn. He looking at his phone like. " maybe it's on silent"

I don't think that's it, last year Riley had a face to face with DWade. It was about him changing his game. I'm sure Wade had plans to tweak it anyway, but they did meet and discussed things.
That ship has sailed.

That's bs

Why isn't he signed then? If that shit still held ANY weight he would have been squared away by now. Honestly, you guys have to be a bit concerned at this point.

It was said in Miami that all agreed to a pay cut depending on who they could bring in and this is the reason Wade, Bosh, and Lebron have not signed. It is said that they are being flexible with their salary

Devin just wants to be here

I'm pretty sure his house is out here and we are probably the only playoff team he can start for

Well, maybe the Heat too

Dammit the Pacers as well

I ain't mad at the signing we just don't have any shooting in the backcourt at all

That's the only thing we will miss about Calderon but that contract had to go

Bosh going to fuck around and go to Houston. Great fit down there. What's he waiting for? The big homie going to the Cavs. Bosh against the big homie in the 2015 finals....

Beatdownrecords about to put on the bow tie and dig in for Lebron playing for the CAC owner who wrote the letter instead of the CAC GM who called him a coward and the cheap CAC owner who wouldn't go over the tax after the title.

I know he's a cac but what do you think about Gordon Heyward? I don't like his price but he can play some good defense and his jumper is wet. We need shooting at this point and I don't see it out there.....well someone who can legitimately put up 15+ a game from the field.

I would be looking at Vascuez too. He has a jumper.

And I think Harris can start. It may be for those two teams though you stated. In regards to actual contenders.

I guess i'm trippin' because I remember what we paid Calderon last year and I thought this second go around with Harris we were gonna have to break the bank.

@daldridgetnt: Riley was "very charming," per source, and visit had the feel of a college recruiting trip. But it's all about the dollars at this point.

So is this Deng

What's the point of meeting these free agents if u not talking money.

I mean is he putting his rings on a table and telling role players

"Time to build a legacy".

Is he giving them a brochure of Miami but not willing to pay them so they can really live it up there.

As I said Pat pitch of rings don't work on role players who know they are expendable.

No CACs but I'm sure the CACs out here would love him

Utah matching any offers though

Null and void

Harris is solid he just can't shoot

We need shooting

that's the point.

who have they brought in during the 4 years?

ray allen who was ring chasing
and birdman who was on the street

that's the entire list.

dudes want PAPER

I think this why Lebron is taking the stance he's taking....

Paul Gasol would solve the problem of bringing in pieces...

Heat weigh Luol Deng options; Rockets eyeing Chris Bosh

Luol Deng in action

Miami Heat President Pat Riley continues to think big. The problem is so do his competitors.

The latest power move by Riley was a Saturday summit at a Chicago hotel with free-agent forward Luol Deng, a meeting reported by several media outlets. What made the overtures so intriguing is that Deng earned $14.3 million this past season, with the Heat not in position to offer nearly that sum in free agency.

The Heat's lack of free-agent flexibility already has seen the top available free-agent center (the Washington Wizards' Marcin Gortat) and best available free-agent point guard (the Toronto Raptors' Kyle Lowry) re-sign with their teams.

While Riley was seeking to bolster his roster, opponents are circling his own creation, with the free-agent status of LeBron James yet to be settled, and with the Houston Rockets poised to clear enough salary-cap space for a potential bid at Heat forward Chris Bosh.

With James, Bosh and guard Dwyane Wade have yet to recommit to the Heat, Riley and coach Erik Spoelstra remained away from the team as the Heat opened summer-league play with an 85-77 loss Saturday to the Boston Celtics on the practice court at the Amway Center.

In addition to Deng, the Heat continue to be linked to a variety of lower-priced free agents, including New Orleans Pelicans 3-point specialist Anthony Morrow. Riley also met with this past week with Los Angeles Lakers free-agent center Pau Gasol.

While the free-agency signing period opened July 1, teams cannot start to sign free agents until Thursday, although numerous players already have agreed to terms.

The Heat have yet to lose any players in free agency from the team that lost 4-1 to the San Antonio Spurs in last month's NBA Finals, the Heat's fourth trip to the Finals in as many years.

In addition to Riley remaining typically mum, none of the Heat's free-agent stars have offered social-media clues either of re-signing or potential departures, with James offering an Instagram post Saturday plugging the juice-bar chain that has a Miami franchise operated by his wife, Savannah.

Several scouts and league officials at the Orlando summer league said there is little clarity about the intentions of both the Heat and the team's three stars. Although the Rockets are represented at the Orlando Pro Summer League, their top team officials are not present.

Of a report of Bosh being poised to move to the Rockets, one league official said at the Amway Center, "that's what they'd like you to believe. I want to hear it from Bosh or his agent first."

The consensus of league officials in Orlando is that the process will remain muddled until both James and New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony settle their situations. Anthony has already had meetings with the Knicks, Chicago Bulls, Rockets, Dallas Mavericks and Lakers. James has yet to meet with other teams, although his agent, Cleveland-based Rich Paul, has met with the Mavericks, Rockets, Lakers, Phoenix Suns and Cleveland Cavaliers.

"Bosh isn't walking away from LeBron, I know that," an official from one team said. "If LeBron walks away . . . get back to me then."

Man I'm try to take a short break from this shit...my other threads are lonely...

Try to but saw this pop up

Ethan J. Skolnick
@EthanJSkolnick
The one thing that nobody's paying attention to: the league thinks Bosh is a max player.
So maybe Heat fans should value him more.

Damn, Jason Kidd is trying hard, huh

I guess Brandon Knight isn't a favorite of his

But I know Bledsoe is like damn, :please: don't let it be Milwaukee, you guys better match it

i have a feeling Bosh may take that Rocket deal to land another big payday.....
i dont think he really wants to take a paycut.
then all Miami will have left is Lebron and Wade's knees to try and get them back to the finals.
