**Official 2014 FIFA World Cup Thread**

Rudley,

Let me explain just quickly. You also have to understand how Brazilians think about futbol. Sometimes they don't even mind losses if the game was played beautifully. Zidane put on one of the most beautiful performances ever at midfield and he did it the "p jeito brasileiro jogando bonito".. the brazilian way playing beautifully... it was a double smack in the face the way it went down. I'm telling you, Brazilians still feel some kind of way about that Cup. They have a love/hate relationship with Zidane because of it too... it's like a kid that gets his ass beat for acting up.. he's temporarily extremely angry with his pops but ultimately loves him for the stern discipline...even if embarrassing at the moment.

You know you are right '86 wasn't embarrassing it was just a disappointment.

The reason why I pick '98 over 2006 is because Brazil had a good team with experience player and they look like amateur in that finals.

Where is all the people who was saying France was playing better and Germany defense was weak?

I told ppl that France didn't play any good team.

See, they meet a challenge and out they go.

Poor Dani Alves getting replaced, lol.

Two Barca defenders have been benched this World Cup, shocking.

Or is he replaced so he doesn't miss the semi-final?

now we see if columbia has any nuts

knew it was about to be a goal

This is what I was saying earlier. Colombia has been playing lights out but beating Brazil in Brazil is a different animal. A lot of these South American countries don't have a good history playing in Brazil. We'll see how they respond. I still think Colombia is the better team.

I don't know if they're better. Brazil has really been playing like shit for the most part imo

This is their 5th game.. I'm starting to think they aren't playing like shit and this is just who they are. However, I knew after surviving Chile with basically the luck of the goal post they would come out focused. Putting Maicon back out there would definitely toughen up the defense though..

Strong press from Scolari's men. James can't get ahold of this game and Pekerman has done nothing to remedy this.

Why on earth Teo starts... No idea. Where's Jackson?!?!
