**Official 2014 FIFA World Cup Thread**

Looking forward to the next one though. Think I might go watch with the Colombians again....because if they win, the celebrations will be insane

I have mixed feelings about this. I don't think this Brazilian team is playing well and they don't deserve to continue unless they play well. Chile was a goal-post away from sending them home early. I like this Colombian team too but it's gonna be mad annoying down here if Brazil gets put out so early...but i wouldn't be surprised. Colombia at their best is better than Brazil at their best... but can Colombia play at their best under the pressure of beating Brazil in Brazil?

What? Varane is a beast.

He did fuck up on that goal, but that goal came off of a bullshit "foul" though.

Nah he be playing bad whole tournament Mangala is better than varane. He keeps making mistakes but they just didn't score. Now he got punished

Yes, I don't think Columbia is under pressure, they have less to lose.

Plus Neymar is not 100%.

That was quite evident in the last game.

I think that is what is in favor for Colombia. The pressure is more on Brasil than Colombia. They will still feel some but Brasil will have more weight on their shoulders. If they go behind I will like to see how they play because it will definitely be in their heads and could lead to costly mistakes.

How's he better? Varane has already proven how good he is in La Liga and Champions League.

Bro he is a better player stronger and faster it's a different thing when you play at a club with bale, cr, moderic etc. When you are constant the team that's attacking. Its much easier to defend. You prolly say pique is a good defender too right? Now mind you I'm not saying varane sucks but Mangala is just better. Now pique sucks

I know Pique sucks, Varane is still a beast. Believe me it's no easy thing for me to compliment a Madrid player!

Lol being barca fan:lol:

He is better. He will get his big transfer this year Mangala so we will see. Like I said I'm not saying he sucks I'm just saying that Mangala is better imo.

You bring up Zidane and Brazilians just do this :smh::smh::smh:

France beating them in '86 was worst man.

Even though it was a penalty shootout.

At least Ronaldo could say the seizures before the game slowed him down but how a Brazil team with socrates,Zico,Careca,Falcao lost.

:smh:

You forgot 2006?

No I watch them all and 1998 was worst than 2006.

With the squad they had, 1986 was really depressing when you compare them.
Zidane destroyed them by himself  2006 it was embarrassing. I think that is what eewll was saying

In these ttyppe of games France could have used ribery or Nasri.

Naw man... that Zidane raping was way more embarrassing. He had Ronaldinho looking like Bradley

He abused the entire squad all by himself man. No one player has never single-handedly done Brazil like that.

It's the second most dramatic WC experience after losing to Uruguay in Maracana. Brazilians be on some stockholm shit about that too.. they get mad and then go on some "that Zidane... he's really Brazilian in his heart". It's the only way they can cope with it.. that shit got so much media play in Brazil when it went down it was like Snowden in the U.S.. rarely has one person fractured the collective ego of a nation. Zidane had Brazilians questioning their future in futbol.

Ronaldinho was a big disappointment that entire WC and Ronaldo was overweight and slow. That Brazil team wasn't that good though.

And that was after Ronaldinho was just coming off back to back FIFA World Player of the Year awards. It was almost like Zidane did that shit on purpose... Ronaldinho never recovered..especially in Brazil... people in Brazil used to hell at Ronandinho that his daddy was French. :smh:

I don't disagree. That team had a lot of "names" but they didn't have a lot of fresh legs out there...they were only great on paper. But it's not always about losing.. it's how you lose and Brazil is not used to getting embarrassed on the World Stage. Zidane had people down here crying, literally.

Rudley,

Let me explain just quickly. You also have to understand how Brazilians think about futbol. Sometimes they don't even mind losses if the game was played beautifully. Zidane put on one of the most beautiful performances ever at midfield and he did it the "p jeito brasileiro jogando bonito".. the brazilian way playing beautifully... it was a double smack in the face the way it went down. I'm telling you, Brazilians still feel some kind of way about that Cup. They have a love/hate relationship with Zidane because of it too... it's like a kid that gets his ass beat for acting up.. he's temporarily extremely angry with his pops but ultimately loves him for the stern discipline...even if embarrassing at the moment.
