The only thing you right about is that Melo aint going to Chicago. It would be an all time retarded move to put your legacy on the line for Rose fucked up knees. Melo aint that dumb.

He hollared at his "boy" and fellow Chi native Mark Aguirre about joining the Pistons to help him win 2 titles. Aguirre went #1 in the '81 draft, Isiah went #2, and yall bitched about Inkosi, Wade, & Bosh "teaming up" for titles. :smh:

Please. The Pistons were in game 7 of the Finals the year before and if not for Zeke getting injured and a phantom call on Bill Laimbeer in game 7, they would have won. They didn't get Aquirre to get them over the top. They got Aquirre because Zeke and Adrian Dantley had issues with each other. Dantley >>> Aguirre. Dantley was a HOFer who also lead the league in scoring multiple times, per, win shares, etc.

Would've could've should've. They lost in 88. Dantley to this day still swears Zeek made that trade happen and that he wanted to play with his good friend and draft classmate specifically. Larry Bird "recruited" Bill Walton to the Celtics. Magic Johnson "recruited" Bob McAdoo to the Lakers. Shit aint new. :smh:

You're misrepresenting what happened. Zeke didn't make the trade happen because he wanted to play with his "friends".

That trade happened because Dantley specifically said it's either him or me and obviously management sided with Zeke. Dantley didn't want to be the #2. You probably weren't even watching ball back then. You're not going to argue with me about shit that went down with the pistons when I was going to the games during that trade.

It was a Shaq and Kobe situation.

Re: ~*~2014 NBA OffSeason Thread - Draft 6/26 ~*~

You buggin eewwll. Thomas ushered that nigga out of town. Dantley was happy there and wanted to stay. He was also about 5years older so he knew he wouldn't win a "him or me" ultimatum with the front office.

Zeke absolutely orchestrated that trade to play with his boy.

Re: ~*~2014 NBA OffSeason Thread - Draft 6/26 ~*~

Zeek wanted to play with his boy, he didnt want to beat him. And ran Dantley outta town in the process. Dress it up all you want to. Wasnt the first time a player recruited and wasn the last old man. Next you gon tell me he didnt walk off the court in '91.

He orchestrated because they had a power struggle. Dantley was not "happy" with the way Zeke was taking full control over the team. This was a huge local story at the time. Zeke also called Dantley a ball hog and said the offense stopped when Dantley got the ball in the post (which was somewhat true. I loved AD but he did slow the game up). I didn't say that Zeke didn't exert his power. I said Zeke didn't move him out because he "wanted to pay with his friends". You guys might not know about this shit but any Detroiter who followed the Pistons during that time could tell you this. This was a VERY public thing. Dantley and Zeke had real on and off the court issues and Zeke felt he could never take full control off the team with Dantley there.

I disagree. And so does AD. Zeke was on some ho shit bro. And he absolutely wanted to play with his boy. If your memory is as good as it seems, then you recall the players being pissed about the trade. Especially Dumars. Zeke orchestrated that shit. And call him a ball stop all you want, he was the best player on the team during that finals matchup when they got hosed against LA. Zeke wanted the guy gone. And he also wanted to play with his butt boy and fellow chi town closet homo Mark Aguire (yea shaddy I said it, fuck you gone do faggit).

What do you mean "wanted" to be the man?? He was the man.

And no one on the team shares your view of things. The players wanted him there and he wanted to be there. The diva point guard was the one who wanted him gone.

I was pissed about the trade too. AD is one of my all-time favorite players. I didn't call him a ball hog. I said ZEKE called him a ball hog. You're kind of making my point. You said he was the "best player on the team against LA". What I did I say in my first post. Dantley didn't want to take the #2 role and Zeke wanted the #1. Like I said, it was Shaq-Kobe all over again. Your response is like a full agreement to what I said. I said Zeke got him out... but not because he woke up one day and wanted to play with his friend. He wanted AD out because AD wouldn't "fall back" and AD was publicly going at Zeke. We didn't have social media, internet, etc during that period. However, locally it was all over the papers and on the news. AD and Zeke had MAJOR beef. Getting his friend to his squad was just an extra... but the beef between AD and Zeke was real and came to a head.

Naw homie. It wasn't just on Zeke. AD, by making it a public "him or me" thing put a lot of pressure on Coach Daly and in some way, kind of put in on Coach Daly for giving Zeke too much control. They had lockerroom quarrels for years (kind of like Kobe and Shaq) and remember when Shaq came out after that 2004 season and forced LA's hand? AD was on the local news.. ON VIDEO which was replayed on the local news (in the locker-room saying that real probem on the team was Zeke). That was not going to fly in Detroit man. Zeke was THE sports hero in Detroit at the time... when AD made it a him or me thing, that was it.

I love AD. He can say what he wants in the media now. He was probably right at the time too about Zeke making the full power play... but he overplayed his cards when he came at Zeke publicly.

AD is still good folk now too. I hate that bitch ass Mark Aguirre got a ring and AD had to play for the bum ass Mavs afterwards but no way was he going to win a war with Zeke in Detroit.

I do think his style of play did kind of clash with what the Pistons needed. AD was WAY better than Mark Aguire but bitch ass Mark fit the squad better because it allowed us to go into a faster tempo. When didn't have a lot of guys that could create their own offense in the half court so when AD slowed the ball up in the post, it kind of really affected the others player negatively. He would get HIS though.

AD is a top 10 post player in NBA history.

Exactly...

Re: ~*~2014 NBA OffSeason Thread - Draft 6/26 ~*~

As to the other point, it doesn't matter if Lebron teamed up with this friends. In year 1, when they lost, it was still Wade's team. Since then, he's been the CLEAR leader so not like he's being carried to titles on some super squad. But they collaborated and it happened as all three wanted to play together and their teams individually had no real chances of bringing home a title. They had a championship-caliber squad and they delivered.

Shit doesn't compare to the Pistons. They had just been to the Finals before and they had real beef between players. And although Dantley was the superior player, Mark Aguirre's bitch ass was probably the better fit because of his style of player (better on the perimeter and transition).

QueenT just tries to rewrite history because he cramps up over shit people on the board say about Lebron.

Ok. I just think it was two fold. We just have varying reasoning behind the reason Zeke had him bounced. Then again, not really varying, I just have an additional aspect to how MA came into the deal. We agree Zeke was on some ho shit and pulled those strings, I defer to your local perspective with the details. I think Zeke also wanted to play with his childhood pal as well while you think that was just a happenstance aspect of it all. Im cool with that.

I don't think we diasgree on much. It's just the order.

The only reason Zeke was able to get AD moved was because of him making it a "him or me" thing. AD just seems like a good dude. Even now, he's just a "regular" guy who lives modestly and does his part. He's not the "politician" Zeke is. So with him going to the media about the locker-room issue and saying Zeke was causing problems with the squad... that was all that was needed. And Piston's owner William Davidson LOVED Zeke.. LOVED him. So when AD said "this team can't have both of us running it", that was it. He was gone. Otherwise, he would have never been traded. He was too good of a player, his teammates loved him, and the city loved him and he was productive.

Real Pistons fans' never really liked Mark Aguirre.

While Zeke probably did really want to play with his friend and Aguirre did fit the squad... it was pretty much to the point of no-return after AD went to the media man. The locker-room would have never been right. AD didn't start having issues with Zeke AFTER the trade. They had years of beef and AD came at Zeke hard before the trade went down.

That was fight over leadership though and AD was bowing to Thomas. It's VERY similar to the Shaq-Kobe shit man.

Report: Cavs to offer Kyrie Irving max deal
The Cavaliers brass are reportedly flying out to New Jersey to offer Kyrie Irving a max contract extension when free agency opens up on July 1.
The contract will be for 5 years worth $90 million, and Kyrie is reportedly expected to sign. Irving's defensive abilities have been questioned, but there's not doubt that he is a max contract kind of player. He's an elite talent on the offensive end, and in his third season with Cleveland, Kyrie put up averages of 20.8 points, 6.1 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.7 three-pointers a game. He has had issues with staying healthy in the past, but he was able to suit up for 71 games last season.

Pau Gasol to meet with OKC, Chicago & GSW
Unrestricted free agent Pau Gasol will meet with the Thunder, Bulls and Warriors and might also sit down with the Lakers this summer.
He would have to take a massive pay cut to join the Thunder. The Warriors and Bulls probably have their eyes on bigger targets this summer, and Gasol isn't really a great fit for any of those three teams. If the Lakers can't make a huge splash, they're likely the favorites to bring him back.
