Kevin Hart vs Katt Williams vs Mike Epps..let Ice Cube decide who better

People keep making these claims that Kevin hart is just capiltalizing on Katt Williams stumble and Williams hadn't gone crazy for a minute Hart would still be a d list comic (as if there can only be one short black comic at a time)...then Mike Epps chimed in with his shit and theyve been going back and forth ever since.

Well the main thing all three have in common other than doing stand up comedy is working with Ice Cube. Who inexplicably and incredibly is a very talented comedy filmaker, writer and producer.

So lets let the box office tell the story since Epps, Williams and Hart all co-starred with Cube and had just as much chance and opportunity to do very well.

The criteria here is CO STARRING BILLING

ICE CUBE AND MIKE EPPS FILMS -

dl432&display

This is the first film Epps got co-satrring billing. Next Friday was essentially an Ice Cube lead and billed film even tho epps was in it.

`

BO for Friday After Next:
Domestic: $33,253,609
+ Foreign: $273,226
= Worldwide: $33,526,835

but hey just for giggles lets put up Next Friday's BO anyway
Domestic: $57,328,603
+ Foreign: $2,498,725
= Worldwide: $59,827,328

All_About_the_Benjamins_film_poster.jpg

Domestic: $25,916,319
+ Foreign: $390,214
= Worldwide: $26,306,533

jankyposter.jpg

production budget: 10 million
Domestic: $9,069

ICE CUBE AND KATT WILLIAMS FILMS

MPW-47471

Domestic: $37,931,869
+ Foreign: $872,746
= Worldwide: $38,804,615

ICE CUBE AND KEVIN HART FILMS

ride-along-poster.jpg

Domestic: $134,202,565 87.6%
+ Foreign: $19,059,619 12.4%
= Worldwide: $153,262,184

If you combined Epps and Williams films BO together you'd get around 160 something million. If you take out Next Friday becuz Epps wasn't billed as a co star.. then total of all their co-starring billed films combined comes to 100 million or so.

Hart did 150+ in one film...:hmm:

as far as taking someone's place...these are all very different style comedians..as far as one's spot affecting the other...all their films are years apart with Katt and Mike working on a few films with Cube so the opportunity to blow up could have happened for them as it did Hart all things being relatively equal for minorities in the film industry.

In fact Mike Epps did a action comedy with gun play with Cube in All About the Benjamins much like Hart with Ride Along and that brought in less than 30 million world wide.

So for the Mike Epps and Katt Williams shit talkers...CASE CLOSED:lol:

damn Janky promoters didn't even make 10 grand and it took 10mil to make talk about flop. I remember seeing a preview for that movie but never saw it hit theaters.

same here. I remember talking to a friend of mine wondering when it was coming ou1 movie does not a star make and he told me he had the DVD. I'm like, DVD? I never remembered hitting the theater. it didn't seem to affect ice cube much

that said, Kevin Hart is riding high and I can't blame the dudes little hustle. He is doing his thing and he is likeable and crosses over in a way that is not embarrassing. He just seems like an average dude and I believe that people see him as being like them, only funnier. 1 movie does not a combo make because chris trucker and ice cube made how many millions with the first friday? if the second one comes close to making the money the first one dead, then Kevin Hart will have a leg to stand on in this argument. I didn't like either of the Friday sequels, although I did like all about the Benjamins. First Sunday was meh.

bold is ice cube top billed films.. Friday is number 15 on that list.

if there anything to learn its that a couple of things stand out...

1. Cube is a force by himself..
2. comedy is his strong suit by far.

The ONLY other black stand up comedian who's box office would whoop kevin hart at this point is chris tucker based solely off the strength of the rush hour franchise alone.

1 Rush Hour 2 NL $226,164,286 3,118 $67,408,222 3,118 8/3/01
2 Rush Hour NL $141,186,864 2,724 $33,001,803 2,638 9/18/98
3 Rush Hour 3 NL $140,125,968 3,778 $49,100,158 3,778 8/10/07

no one else comes close to those two.

Man you dudes with your popcicle facts. :smh::smh:

As an Actor Leading 10 Movies
Domestic Box Office - $738,627,576
Worldwide Box Office - $1,556,067,650

we are talking about leading role, not side character. He counts as a leading role in the Spiderman movie,...

doing a little research I take back what I was about to say. Dude is legitimate. I doubt he can carry a movie on his own, but as a top billed co-star they could work

okay okay I stand corrected on the stand up to actor point:blush:

So if Jamie and Martin wanted to talk shit about Hart they could...BUT Mike Epps and Katt Williams and thier fans need to calm it down with the comparisons cuz it just doesn't fly..:rolleyes:

So, who was that in "Ray"?
